3:29 ... "Halo makes me toxic" ... "I'll never play multiplayer"... As a seasoned Halo veteran (one of many who are watching and enjoying your first full playthrough)... let me be the first to tell you... YOU WILL EAT THOSE WORDS... and you will enjoy every minute of it! Lol
@lucyjrobyn ik you probably hear it all the time and this is kinda dorky and goofy for me to say, and maybe it's even annoying, but you are so absolutely beautiful my God. Idk if you know that. But you are one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen
Playing a new level for the first time, reading the chat, and trying to think of entertaining things to say all at the same time is harder than it looks.
Yeah the Jackals and Drones mostly sided with the Brutes in the Great Schism, while the Grunts and Hunters mostly sided with the Elites, though there are exceptions on both sides. The Jackals in particular are fairweather friends. They don't really believe in the Covenant dogma but pay lip service to it because the alternative is getting wiped out. They're more like pirates and opportunistic mercenaries when left to their own devices. One of the books even briefly features a remote orbital station where some Jackal deserters have been living with human rebels and insurgents peacefully.
I always loved that cutscene where Arbiter confronts Tartarus, even in janky 2004 graphics. The way Arbiter is is willing to reach out and try to make Tartarus understand, even after everything he and the brutes had done to the elites. Arbiter was willing to put vengeance aside, because in his mind the brutes are also victims of the prophet's lies. Unfortunately, he just wouldn't listen.
@@Lang7 One of the reasons the Arbiter was so successful against humans is that he didn't buy into the dogma thar they were inherently inferior. He saw that humans were creative and would adapt to covenant tactics and systematically identify and exploit weaknesses, so he constantly changed up his tactics and improved his battle doctrine. The Covenant's primary military weaknesses are its excessive reliance on technology that no one understands, its total resistance to any kind of change at all (in one book the MC and Cortana steal a Covenant ship, then later use the exact same exploits and access codes to steal another one, with Cortana remarking that that would never be possible in the UNSC. Not only does every human ship have unique access codes, but if one ever was stolen, all of the other codes for the entire navy would be changed immediately) and their massive superiority complex causing them to underestimate their opponents. Thel Vadamee has none of these weaknesses. He has a bit of that superiority complex, but he was certainly one of the Elites who thought that it was strange that humanity was never given the same choice to join the Covenant as the other races. Especially after getting to fight humans directly, many Elites harbored a certain respect for humans as tenacious and dangerous adversaries, and were further confused by the Prophets' declarations, believing that humans could have been a valuable addition to the Covenant. In fact, it was this very suspicion at the sudden deviation from doctrine that likely formed the first seed of distrust in the Prophets among the Elites, ultimately leading to the Great Schism in Halo 2.
@@michealdrake3421 well the humans were never invited into the convenant for two reasons . 1 when they first ran into humans human scientist were trying to reverse engineer forunner tech (ie tearing it apart to study) this was considered the highest blasphemy in covenant society. and 2. the covenant found out that humans had been around at the same time period as the forunners , yet the forerunners "left the humans behind" when they took the "great journey". This gave them the view that we were some how not worthy of the great journey that the forerunners themselves had cursed us as so. in the original lore it was heavily hinted that humans were the descendants of forunners that survived the original halo blast. 343 industries being the half ass hacks they are destroyed and changed this lore from halo 4 and onward. they basicaly convoluted and over complexed the lore by making humans a differnt race than the forerunners yet there were stil humans around when the forerunners were ??? for this reason i considered any thing after bungie left to be NON cannon in my mind. the story was much better and more compelling when humans were meant to be the survivng forerunners.
0:57:57 I promise you absolutely NO ONE is angry at you for skipping sections where there are a bunch of Flood lol. You’re actually the only streamer I’ve seen who tries to kill every single enemy in Halo. even the most loyal Halo players usually skip sections of the Flood
Whether you do it on camera or off you definitely need to watch some of the Halo 3 trailers. Halo 3s marketing campaign was one of the best in gaming history, it'll get you so hyped to play the game
There has never been, and never will be, a more hype game release than Halo 3. Between the cliffhanger ending to Halo 2, and the insane marketing campaign, it just won't ever be replicated.
The first round of A+ Halo 3 music was the stuff they used in the trailers and commercials. Those "veteran telling war story" ones have got to be some of the best video game ads ever made.
@@SPFlynn yeah and running down a hallway is exactly the same as running in an open field. one overarching feeling I get playing Halo 3 is claustrophobia.
What's so great about this final mission is it really shows a contrast in who the Arbiter is, how far he's come. He went from being a guy trying to kill someone who was preaching the truth, to dealing with a guy trying to kill _him_ for preaching the truth. And to think it only took _four people_ (the heretic leader whose name I always forget, the Gravemind, Master Chief, and Spark) telling him the same thing to make him reevaluate things.
It ends rather abrutly becuase it wasn't supposed to end there. There was a lot of content cut from Halo 2 as it had a really troubled developement. For example, there was supposed to be a Warthog run on High Chairty as one of the last levels.
There was whole level where the Chief is onboard the Forerunner ship fighting The Covenant trying to get to Truth until he was forced to abandon the ship and crash landing on Earth.
Fun fact about high charity, once the prophet flew the ship away the power on high charity turned off. Just imagine how the elites, grunts, jackels felt with the flood now on high charity. Nothing but darkness.
"Well Arbiter, don't exert yourself on our account." 20 years playing Halo games and I've never heard THAT particular line. Usually it's "Arbiter, leave me MY share."
The missions "Uprising" and "Gravemind" happen at the same time. That's why Tartarus is just leaving at the beggining of "High Charity" while at the end of "Uprising" he is already on the Control Room.
From the giant grin on your face during the entire Sgt. Johnson/Banshee segment, it would seem that he was entirely correct when he told you back on Earth that he knows what the ladies like :) Really enjoyed this playthrough Lucy, roll on 3!
When the Forerunner ship left High Charity, since that ship was the battery for the whole city, the city was left powerless, in the dark, while the flood was consuming everything If you think about it It was a nightmare for anyone who stays in the city Poor bastards
I feel like in an earlier video when we were still on earth, maybe she didn't realize that ship unleashed mass destruction to the city when it warped out of there
Omg the anticipation for Halo 3 was unlike anything else. The E3 reveal trailer had everyone beyond hyped! And once it launched it was some of the best gaming memories ever made. The multiplayer, the forge, and of course the campaign. Look forward to your playthrough!
Wow can't believe the 2nd one is already over. This was a very enjoyable playthrough lucy. Thank you for the entertainment 👊🏻 Funfact corner: The cliffhanger at the end of halo 2 was definitely not preplanned. Halo 2 went through a phase of development hell and bungie had to cut out massive portions of the game just to finish the product (not to mention switching game engines mid-way).
What i really liked about this one, is I saw you getting better at making 'halo' decisions. You've typically played using your favorite weapons, which is a good time - but - in the section where you pulled off the jail break, you did something that's essential to playing halo at higher difficulties. You decided you needed different tools for the task at hand. You bailed on the sword for the sniper and it was exactly what the encounter called for. Great work - huge W indeed!
1:34:07 His hammer will always one-shot you if it makes contact. Also his shield only drops if he is shot with a beam rifle. That's why whenever I'm playing this mission, I pick up the beam rifle that is in the room with the elites and hunters that are being held prisoner. I save that rifle for this fight to shorten how long it takes to kill him.
51:08 Truth: Noble Mercy is here at my side (Mercy had just died after being abandoned by Truth so Truth was lying to the Covenant to prevent panic from the Flood) Gravemind: We exist together now. Two corpses in one grave. (Mercy's body was probably taken by the Flood similar to Regret's)
Cortana is a neural based AI. Basically instead of being based on a basic machine learning system like most AI, she was made with the imprint of a real person's mind and processes data just like a real person because of it.
All fair, but technically artificial neural networks are a subset of machine learning too, but you using the word basic is key of course. I'd say she's definitely passed ANI (artificial narrow intelligence like we have rn) but she isn't quite completely ASI (super intelligence), so she's lingering between ASI and AGI (general intelligence) which is probably a part of her being a copy of a real person at her core. I say she's "lingering" because she definitely has a bigger capacity to take in information than any biological creature in the Halo world, besides maybe the Gravemind.
She definitely doesn't process data like a human. Having a conversation with a human is often like torture for her, since she's processing information millions of times faster, and essentially has to wait ages for the humans reply. But she does have a pretty much human personality, with a hint of real emotions and even desires.
Apparently gravemind only speaking in rhyme because one of the producers hated it, so the script writer made him talk like that just to annoy his colleague. I admire the dedication to the bit.
I hope this clears up the confusion of where everyone is in the last 4 missions: The final 2 missions with the chief take place at the same time as the Arbiter's final 2 missions. These events are happening side-by-side. When the Gravemind teleported the Chief and Arbiter away, it sent them both to 2 likely places to find the Index, so they could stop the ring from being fired. 1. The Chief was sent to High Charity, to get the Index from Truth - but really he was sent there to cause a distraction so that flood-controlled ships could slip in unopposed and infect the entire population. High Charity is itself a giant ship, and a dockyard for thousands of warships. If the Flood could take over the city-station, they could go anywhere and infect anyone. 2. At the exact same time, the Arbiter was sent to the control room - because that's where the prophets actually intended to take the Index. So the Flood actually only really cared if the Arbiter succeeded. 3. Truth did not go to Halo's control room himself, and instead sent Tartarus to activate the ring, while he took what was left of the Covenant Fleet to Earth. You find out why in Halo 3. Truth's departure forced the chief and cortana to split up. 1. The chief had to go after Truth and board his ship, to stop him from getting back to Earth and wiping out what's left of the human race. 2. Cortana had to stay behind on High Charity as it was being overrun with the Flood, because her plan was to blow up In Amber Clad, which crashed into High Charity - the same way the Pillar of Autumn was blown up in the original game. In Amber Clad's explosion would also destroy High Charity, killing herself, wiping out the Flood, and destroying Halo before it could be fired. But as we see, she doesn't go through with it. 3. A human is needed to activate Halo, which is why Miranda and Johnson were taken prisoner by the Covenant, rather than killed. Tartarus split them up so that they couldn't be rescued together, and took Miranda to the control room to force her to activate Halo, and left Johnson in the prison where you broke out those elites and hunters. You missed it, but as the Arbiter, you freed him - allowing him to get into the scarab. It's a complex story, and I don't think anyone blames you for missing key dialogue during combat gameplay, and such. It's easier to pick up on these story elements on repeat playthroughs. But I hope this helps make sense of it all.
So, the way the Tartarus fight at the end worked... Johnson was still up on the platform, sniping at Tartarus. You were correct in working out that you needed to attack him while he wasn't glowing (eventually Johnson would prompt you to attack once he'd shot down the shields). Congrats on breaking Tartarus's AI near the end there, that was funny to see. There's a fun glitch you can pull off with the Specter (that covenant Warthog equivalent) from the start of the level. If you drive it around to the back of the control room outside (nearly all the terrain is traversable) you can get it into the area with the final fight. Drive it near Johnson and he'll get in either the passenger or gunner seat. At this point, the game thinks Johnson no longer exists, and since he must be present in order to shoot Tartarus and lower his shields, it'll spawn another one. That Johnson too can hop in the Specter, and the game spawns yet another Johnson. So you can have multiple Johnsons all shooting at Tartarus.
Brutes have an affinity for human weapons, especially shotguns. Thats cause they are the newest addition to the Covenant and before they joined they were at a slightly lower tech level than humans due to constantly nuking themselves back to the stone age whenever they would reach 20th century tech levels. Also, in all the games, plasma weapons are really good at taking down shields
I've always thought that it's wild how the Flood have only just arrived on High Charity and they're already making Flood growths on the walls and floors! Just goes to show how incredibly dangerous the Flood are!
I remember my older cousins and i pulling all nighters beating the campaign and THAT ENDINGS...boy it was a tough 3 year wait. Let me tell ya, that night i finally understood what the definition of a cliffhanger was. ALSO fun fact you mostly dont know. There originally was never supposed to be a Halo 3. Bungie couldnt make the deadline and they had to break the game in two. Basically. ALSO also i HIGHLY recommend watching the documentary of The Making of Halo 2 and all the content that was cut. Its unimaginable what Halo 2 could have been if Bungie had more time. And congrats on beating Halo 2! We all cant wait for you to play Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST & Halo REACH!!!
56:30 That was pretty great. This really is one of the best playthroughs of Halo I have seen, and you are only on the second game so far. I wanted to comment on an earlier episode about this, but your use of the Arbiters active camo is so refreshing to see. I must have seen twenty people play through Halo 2 and only pop active camo the one time when they are first told about it. But you actually use it time to time, and you use it effectively too. It's so nice to watch someone who pays attention to the story and engages with the game. And now Halo 3 is next, the last of the OG Halo Trilogy. Halo 3 isn't remastered, but I think it still looks pretty good nonetheless. And at the time of release it looked amazing, a big step up from Halo 2's original graphics. I am excited, I think you will have a blast playing Halo 3.
THANK YOU haha I don't think anybody else has pointed that out yet. Thank you for the kind comment! I'm glad you're enjoying the play through. I felt like I didn't use the active camo enough at all, but the stealthy sections were always so fun.
@@LUCYJROBYN That stealth section in the Arbiter's first mission is one of my favorite moments from your entire playthrough so far. You made it through the area and opened the hangar door for the phantom all without getting caught, I was impressed. Lot of people just go in guns blazing first time, they don't even try to be sneaky. Having active camo was always my favorite part of the Arbiter's missions, besides Arby himself. Being able to fall back and recharge shields or use it to hit enemies with a surprise attack was awesome. It could completely change how you approach a fight. Meanwhile Chief has a flashlight for his ability lol
People may of waited 3 years for halo 3, but atleast it aint 17+ years and on going for Half Life 3 (we did get Half Life Alyx 4 years ago, but half life 3 is the end of the story), but there is new rumors for Half Life 3 in the works (again) maybe, too bad some people died waiting for it, rip Kitty0706 Half Life 2 Episode 2 (2007) was the last we got in the advancement of the story, left on a cliff hanger, meant to be continued in episode 3 but thats been long cancled, its story is out there for you to read but its considered not cannon but a what if, if the last part of Half life's story did come out, we are yet to see it happen, despite the rumors and leaks, but we are closer then ever before though. (Halo games may if been different if it wasnt for half life, maybe)
The last scene with Tartarus and the Arbiter really gets to me. It make me cry to think that an entire galaxy of life before us - died to stop the flood.
Captain dad's voice just sticks out and makes everything feel better lol! Imagine my surprise when I heard his voice in the series Hazbin Hotel - and you even get to hear him sing!
1:30:18 is probably one of the most heartbreaking scenes, for the arbiter imagine you realizing your race has been lied to for a thousand years and been used for the prophets gains. Let alone everything he went through because of that lie For high charity the scariest part is how quickly it fell. There was a decent amount of flood on in amber clad but you know how it spread so quickly? The civil war that started and the hundereds or even thousands of dead covenant troops that the flood just found and took over
Shotgun meme hits real hard 🤣 55:47 Drops 12 shell shotgun for 100% charge plasma rifle. Tough choice, understandable. 56:08 Glimmer of hope shotgun pickup. Same amount of shells, debates about low ammo, decides to keep anyway. 56:20 Walks past old shotgun with perfectly useable ammo inside. 😩 The level was nearly over anyways, but still, it's the principle of the matter.
The thing about banshees is, theyre not helicopters, theyre planes. So theyre not designed to hover. They have to keep moving forward to stay in the air.
The Gravemind speaks in iambic pentameter, and it is awesome. If Halo studios wants to make Halo fans collectively freak out after they redo Halo CE, they just need to have that voice speak with a blank screen, then show a title card for the next game.
When the Forerunner keyship leaves, the power goes with it. Imagine being Covenant on High Charity. Elite and Brute factions fighting each other, Flood infecting the whole city, all in the dark
I love the moment at 35:28 when she says "We can't just keep repeating over and over again and hope it works out." Then use shotty for 10-20 sec and change back to brute shot AGAIN. The thing wouldn't be as funny, but the bloody thing this time worked! Love you, never change! ❤
Idk if anyone has mentioned this, but the Flood is a a parasite, able to invade not only the body of a host but with a unique ability to steel the memories of their victims! That's what he means when he says "2 corpses in 1 grave"
As much as I LOVE Halo 2, the ending and the 3 year wait to finish the fight was pure torture. Still, this was peak Halo. The hype around H2 & H3 remains unmatched. No other online games have come close to that time period for me. It felt like the future.
If I recall, a significant amount of Halo 3 story was suppose to be in Halo 2 but was cut out due to lack of time. Which is why it cuts off where it does and we waited 3 years to figure out what happened next lol
A top tip for understanding the Rock, Paper, Scissors type system of weaponry effectiveness is as follows: Plasma weapons (covenant standard arms) are most effective against shields of all types. Kinetic projectile weapons (human bullets) are most effective against flesh. For example one of the quickest ways to kill a covenant elite with small arms would be using a covenant plasma pistol/rifle to take off his shield and a quick switch to a human pistol for the head shot. Melee attack is also a key ingredient in Halo as it generally does more damage than a regular shot. Emptying your assault rifle into an enemy and finishing with a melee attack before reloading is a halo multiplayer veteran's bread and butter. I hope these battle tactics serve you well. They are all I have to show for my countless hours in Blood Gulch and I'm happy to be able to pass them onto you, Spartan!❤❤❤ See you in Halo 3😊❤
I don't know if you've seen the original concept for what H2 (multiplayer included) was supposed to be. If not, I suggest you check it out. Halo 2 in 2004 was lightyears ahead of every other console game - and that was it in a half-baked form. If Bungie had been able to execute their original vision, I'm in no doubt we'd be talking about the single most important online console game of all time.
I cackled from @15:04 to @15:14. Definitely needs to be short. Grunt got too inspired to die lol. The cloak running by all the brutes was an awesome play too
52:47 A Grunt Ultra! They are tough but you had a shotgun, but notice it took three point blank shots to take him down. There are videos online of them facing different Halo enemies and they can even take out a squad of three elites lol Btw, you made my heart sink for a micro-second when you said you wanted to wait 😭 then you said 2027 and I was like 🤨
That 3 years we waited for Halo 3 felt like a decade honestly. The hype was unmatched when the year Halo 3 came out. Thats when they first introduced Mountain Dew Game Fuel and I would buy it everyday from the corner store when I was in 9th grade
Fun playthrough, the way halo 2 expands on the Covenant really makes it stand out from the first game's narrative and the writing is super good, one of my favorite games. Playing as the Arbiter instead of chief was controversial at the time because people don't like change for some reason but this game has really aged like a fine wine imo. Looking forward to your playthrough of Halo 3, damn I need to play that game through again myself though, been ages. If you enjoy these "Narrative focused FPS games that are not call-of-duty" I'd highly recommend Half Life 1 and 2. HL1 is a little old and dated but still a great game.
Hey Lucy I'm glad you loved Halo 2 and are loving this trilogy so far! If you loved Halo 2 you're going to love Halo 3. Before you start your Halo 3 playthrough, I highly suggest you watch some of the trailers for Halo 3 starting with the Halo 3 E3 2006 Reveal Trailer. To this day that trailer sends chills down my spine with how cinematic it is along with Marty's music. Halo 3 had some of the best promotional videos/ads for a game you'll ever see. And yes, waiting 3 YEARS for Halo 3 after that Halo 2 ending was agonizing haha but the wait was worth it.
45:30 So, this is a bit of lore that never really comes up in the games, but it's helpful to know to understand Cortana's character, why her name carries so much weight in the UNSC, why for example Lord Hood lets her do basically whatever she wants in his station's systems. But no plot spoilers ahead, no worries. AIs come in two categories: "dumb" and "smart". While both are many times more intelligent than any human could ever hope to be, smart AIs are vastly more adaptable and capable than their dumb counterparts. Smart AIs are capable of learning about any topic from any source, either organically through conversation, observation, and experience, or by downloading data directly from digital sources, and dumb AIs have impressive learning capabilities too, they can really only learn and apply new information fitting a relatively narrow set of parameters, making them exceptionally useful within their specialization, but with little ability to draw inspiration from disparate sources and think creatively. Smart AIs though are capable of both independent critical thought and true creativity, and Cortana is the most advanced smart AI ever created. Not one of them, THE most advanced. Oh, the process of creating an AI also involves beaming the code through a human brain in ways that I don't think are ever fully explained, but that is what gives each AI its unique personality and access to human traits and emotions. As a part of having a personality, AIs choose their own appearance. Technically Cortana has no gender, but chooses to take a feminine voice and appearance and respond to feminine pronouns. I'm sure there are some AIs that choose robotic voices. In one of the books, the teacher AI at the UNSC naval academy chooses to appear as a classical goddess modeled after Minerva and Athena since her role is to teach students about war. AIs can also choose how expressive they want to be with their avatars, though it seems that most of the ones that go to the trouble of using an avatar at all tend to use it to find ways to visually indicate their tone, emotional state, and other useful social information. Cortana does seem to be particularly expressive with her avatar from what I've seen though. Maybe her greater capabilities make parsing and rendering that information less taxing on her system, so she's able to do more of it. Or maybe being more advanced just gives her inherently more personality to express. I don't really recall any other AIs that are as prone to humor, sarcasm, and emotional extremes as Cortana, well except for Guilty Spark, but he's a Forerunner construct and that's a whole other bag of worms. There's a lot more to it than that, but I think that's about as much as I can reasonably say without plot spoilers. But hopefully that fills in some of the blanks about what's up with Cortana.
7:25 It's funny that you mention that because that's exactly how the devs intended players to use the dual wield ability: You fire one weapon until it's empty or overheated, then while you reload or chill that one, you fire the other, allowing you to keep up a continuous stream of fire and never give the enemy time to recover.
Now that you are about to start 3 soon you should watch the Halo 3 live action trailers, you’ve probably been told but they are epic mini films. Landfall and believe are really great and they actually add a lot of context for the MC and the final battle leading up to the first level of Halo 3.
Best advice i can give for halo 3 is to be patient and think tactically when going through the missions , run n gun will get gou mulched prettying quickly if youre not lucky
Love to see the reaction of the end of halo 2 it’s such a cliffhanger! You should react to the animated movie Halo Legends! One of the short stories explains a lot!
“I’d to see this bit on a speed run. Like how do people get through it.” Well funny story, they don’t. There is a skip shortly after you go outside that lets you skip everything from when you first got a Ghost on Uprising and it is really easy to do, to the point that I have played the game countless times but I have only done Uprising full path a handful of times.
57:45 the scene that broke my heart forever 1:39:35....the moment that made me go HELL YEAH AND what in the utter fuck????!!!! ALL. AT. THE. SAME. TIME I adore this game :)
Oh, this game was perhaps the most anticipated game of all time! But at the time, playing as the Arbiter dug up controversy! Players were like "I ONLY WANT TO PLAY AS CHIEF AND SHOOT ALIENS!" And the the ending. I'm sure someone broke their controller by throwing it against the wall. It's unfortunate the credits are removed in the MCC, because the Cortana and Gravemind cutscene is the after-credits scene. Plus, the credits song was fantastic! But all that was forgiven in time, and nothing was as successful as the online multiplayer. I was never a big multiplayer person myself but it was big for some.
Which is a real shame, because IMO, the use of the Arbiter, a very compelling character and a great foil to MC, was one of the best bits of story telling Halo has ever done. EsPECIALLY with the intro cinematics. Spoilers!!!! And a lot better as an alternate perspective than Locke. Not to mention more balanced in terms of the number of missions each got. Locke would have been fine if he wasn't a (sorry to say) downgraded and less interesting version of MC character wise (mechanics were actually pretty good, ngl) and if he didn't steal the game away from MC. Arbiter did all this much better.
If you need help/tips before or during the legendary charity stream, let me know. To my knowledge, I'm the only person to ever beat every mission on halo 2 legendary with taking ANY damage. Yes, I'm serious. Videos are all on my channel if you need. Also, wouldn't mind a co-op if you needed/wanted. Thanks for all the fun halo content!
Don't forget to listen to the original soundtrack! There are some awesome tracks from Incubus and Breaking Benjamin that they replaced on the anniversary soundtrack. Cant wait to watch along for Halo 3.
The fight against Tartarus is a pain in the ass. I still remember that eventually, I let the NPCs deal with him, while I was shooting from a safe distance. But in the next playthrough it somehow was easier.

I agree
The Jackals are scavenger species, they have no loyalty.
yeah lol makes sense they're ravenous birds like carrion feeders except prey on the living, sounds natural for them to join the brutes

Tartarus was almost swayed, but at the last second wasn’t willing to accept that all his actions were for NOTHING
@@BxRob927Yeah remember even when Gravemind and Master Chief were telling Arbiter what the Halos truly are he didn’t believe at first.
The Arbiter is moral, to a fault. It's what kept him blinded for so long before the monitors revealed the truth.

Given the Shipmaster's opinion of the Flood, I can assure you I do not suffer the Flood to live.
For a video though, I can understand it.
Whether you do it on camera or off you definitely need to watch some of the Halo 3 trailers. Halo 3s marketing campaign was one of the best in gaming history, it'll get you so hyped to play the game
Seriously second this.
There has never been, and never will be, a more hype game release than Halo 3. Between the cliffhanger ending to Halo 2, and the insane marketing campaign, it just won't ever be replicated.
Totally agree with this^ definitely watch Halo Landfall before starting halo 3!
Believe.
Halo 3 is going to blow your mind. Especially the music. I genuinely go back and listen to all the Halo soundtrack but Halo 3 I listen to the most!
The first round of A+ Halo 3 music was the stuff they used in the trailers and commercials. Those "veteran telling war story" ones have got to be some of the best video game ads ever made.
The halo 3 main menu still the best to this day 🐐
I would say 3 is the worst for gameplay. I played the original when I was like 12. 3 was actually a let down. Good thing reach and odst came out.
@@buddyguy4723 ODST is literally the same gameplay as 3
@@SPFlynn yeah and running down a hallway is exactly the same as running in an open field. one overarching feeling I get playing Halo 3 is claustrophobia.
“Don’t make a girl a promise, if you know you can’t keep it”
A valuable lesson this game taught
And we know how much Lucy loves the Warthog run from CE 🤣
She'll love final halo 3 mission@@gordon9821
Yeah that’s also my big issue with 3. It’s more or less just an end to Halo 2. It’s much too short to cram all that information in.
Fun fact about high charity, once the prophet flew the ship away the power on high charity turned off. Just imagine how the elites, grunts, jackels felt with the flood now on high charity. Nothing but darkness.
"Well Arbiter, don't exert yourself on our account."
20 years playing Halo games and I've never heard THAT particular line.
When the Forerunner ship left High Charity, since that ship was the battery for the whole city, the city was left powerless, in the dark, while the flood was consuming everything
If you think about it
It was a nightmare for anyone who stays in the city
Poor bastards
I feel like in an earlier video when we were still on earth, maybe she didn't realize that ship unleashed mass destruction to the city when it warped out of there
I’ll never forget getting home from school and putting Halo 3 in for the first time. You’re in for a treat, miss!
Excited to see you start 3! You’re gonna love it. It’s a beautiful end to a brilliant trilogy
Thank you for the entertainment 👊🏻
Funfact corner: The cliffhanger at the end of halo 2 was definitely not preplanned.
Lucy I'm not saying they'll study your Halo 2 camp later on down the line as 'watch this gamer slowly get worse at a game' but I'm loving it!
51:08 Truth: Noble Mercy is here at my side (Mercy had just died after being abandoned by Truth so Truth was lying to the Covenant to prevent panic from the Flood)
Gravemind: We exist together now.
I hope this clears up the confusion of where everyone is in the last 4 missions:
The final 2 missions with the chief take place at the same time as the Arbiter's final 2 missions.
I remember finishing the campaign back in 2004 and I was like "What??" Waiting for 3 years was long but it was worth it to finally finish the fight!
“I’m not sure what my purpose is as the Arbiter right now.” He at this moment is thinking the same thing. 😂
I've always thought that it's wild how the Flood have only just arrived on High Charity and they're already making Flood growths on the walls and floors! Just goes to show how incredibly dangerous the Flood are!
21:12 was actually insane lmaooo
That's one of my favourite moments hahaha
"It's just a baby"
17:20 " You need to be a distraction"
People may of waited 3 years for halo 3, but atleast it aint 17+ years and on going for Half Life 3 (we did get Half Life Alyx 4 years ago, but half life 3 is the end of the story), but there is new rumors for Half Life 3 in the works (again) maybe, too bad some people died waiting for it, rip Kitty0706
Half Life 2 Episode 2 (2007) was the last we got in the advancement of the story, left on a cliff hanger, meant to be continued in episode 3 but thats been long cancled, its story is out there for you to read but its considered not cannon but a what if, if the last part of Half life's story did come out, we are yet to see it happen, despite the rumors and leaks, but we are closer then ever before though.
(Halo games may if been different if it wasnt for half life, maybe)
The last scene with Tartarus and the Arbiter really gets to me. It make me cry to think that an entire galaxy of life before us - died to stop the flood.
the cast playing "Elite Number 2" is my favorite character
Captain dad's voice just sticks out and makes everything feel better lol! Imagine my surprise when I heard his voice in the series Hazbin Hotel - and you even get to hear him sing!
1:30:18 is probably one of the most heartbreaking scenes, for the arbiter imagine you realizing your race has been lied to for a thousand years and been used for the prophets gains. Let alone everything he went through because of that lie
For high charity the scariest part is how quickly it fell. There was a decent amount of flood on in amber clad but you know how it spread so quickly? The civil war that started and the hundereds or even thousands of dead covenant troops that the flood just found and took over
Shotgun meme hits real hard 🤣
55:47 Drops 12 shell shotgun for 100% charge plasma rifle. Tough choice, understandable.
56:08 Glimmer of hope shotgun pickup. Same amount of shells, debates about low ammo, decides to keep anyway.
56:20 Walks past old shotgun with perfectly useable ammo inside. 😩
The level was nearly over anyways, but still, it's the principle of the matter.
The thing about banshees is, theyre not helicopters, theyre planes. So theyre not designed to hover. They have to keep moving forward to stay in the air.
Ok that actually makes a lot of sense! Thank you for sharing.
The Grunts and the Jackals hate each other.
Grunt: Arbiter our savior! Stupid Jackal say thank you!
that moment when your like "cortana i need a shotgun! get me a shotgun. wheres a shotgun" and your actually standing on a shotgun...
This girls gameplay is so cool to watch. I've just finished halo 2 weeks back.
She's gonna love Halo 3 !
I'm super excited for you to play Halo 3! It's going to be a real treat for you! 😊
Arby and the Chiemf is definitely an iconic duo but Arby and The Johnson is a duo that needs more screen time
1:30:43 in the books Tartarus uncle the prior chieftain of the brutes before Tartarus killed him. Told him that He was obedient, not faithful.
If I recall, a significant amount of Halo 3 story was suppose to be in Halo 2 but was cut out due to lack of time. Which is why it cuts off where it does and we waited 3 years to figure out what happened next lol
Can't wait for Halo 3, my first Halo ever, i discovered it on a demo Xbox stand in a mall and i did not regret buying it
I hope you'll react to the terminals for Halo CE and 2. They add a great deal of world building and important context
A top tip for understanding the Rock, Paper, Scissors type system of weaponry effectiveness is as follows:
Plasma weapons (covenant standard arms) are most effective against shields of all types.
They are all I have to show for my countless hours in Blood Gulch and I'm happy to be able to pass them onto you, Spartan!❤❤❤
See you in Halo 3😊❤
-Reads video title-
Yes. Yes we did.
But thankfully it was three years of Halo 2's online multiplayer.
and it was definitely worth the wait too
I don't know if you've seen the original concept for what H2 (multiplayer included) was supposed to be. If not, I suggest you check it out.
Halo 2 in 2004 was lightyears ahead of every other console game - and that was it in a half-baked form. If Bungie had been able to execute their original vision, I'm in no doubt we'd be talking about the single most important online console game of all time.
Speaking of Halo 2 multiplayer... If you haven't seen, some technical wizardry has launched new Halo 2 servers for original consoles.
atleast it wasnt 17+ years.
There are videos online of them facing different Halo enemies and they can even take out a squad of three elites lol
Btw, you made my heart sink for a micro-second when you said you wanted to wait 😭 then you said 2027 and I was like 🤨
That 3 years we waited for Halo 3 felt like a decade honestly. The hype was unmatched when the year Halo 3 came out. Thats when they first introduced Mountain Dew Game Fuel and I would buy it everyday from the corner store when I was in 9th grade
meanwhile Half life 3
That last part vs Tartarus was so fun back in the day. On the original game you could get the banshee in there and fight him with it.
1:07:20 “The jackals really ain’t shit”
Girl wait till you play the game on legendary difficulty
OMG i love see you complete my favourite Halo game x3
YESSSS HERE WE GOOOO
It's time!!
you definitely need to see the Halo trailers before playing the games! you’ll love it and we’d love to see your reactions!
I love your black top in the beginning and gotta point out, hands in sleeves is so cozy and cute
It's my fave too!
@@LUCYJROBYN it's cozy right?
Plasma rifle vs Brutes..really leaning into their bullet sponge status. Can’t wait for your Halo 3 play. The sandbox is increasingly fun to play in.
Landfall and believe are really great and they actually add a lot of context for the MC and the final battle leading up to the first level of Halo 3.
video game logic: I have been teleported to an alien world in a mountainous environment...ah there's a fully loaded gun, naturally! 🤣
36:33 Wishing for a sniper, walks over a sniper. Classic Lucy! And we love you for it 😂
“Maybe he did infect us” 😂 you are adorable
I’ve never seen a greater cheese on a final boss battle lol. Can’t even be mad, that was amazing.
i really enjoyed watching you play
Now would be a good time to watch the Halo CE and Halo 2 terminals.
You gotta watch the Halo 3 ads. They are iconic.
Best advice i can give for halo 3 is to be patient and think tactically when going through the missions , run n gun will get gou mulched prettying quickly if youre not lucky
15:10 🤣🤣🤣 Well that was something 🤣🤣🤣
17:32 speedrun 😎
46:30 Yes
From November 9th 2004, to September 25 2007. (5 days after my 9th birthday)
Awwww
It’s unanimous at this point that halo 3 is long overdue for a remaster
If it does happen, I hope it will be like Halo 2 remaster and not Halo CE remaster.
I can't even take video titles about a potential remaster seriously anymore. Guessing the recent rumors are bs too. :{
59:45 ONE OF US! ONE OF US! 🤣🤣🤣
Love to see the reaction of the end of halo 2 it’s such a cliffhanger! You should react to the animated movie Halo Legends! One of the short stories explains a lot!
“I’d to see this bit on a speed run. Like how do people get through it.”
Well funny story, they don’t. There is a skip shortly after you go outside that lets you skip everything from when you first got a Ghost on Uprising and it is really easy to do, to the point that I have played the game countless times but I have only done Uprising full path a handful of times.
15:08 inspired the grunt to meet its maker 😂
😭
You’ll love halo 3 definitely multiplayer back in the day was peak Xbox hasn’t been the same since I think
Cortana is a Super AI and is made from the brain scan of Dr. Halsey, the woman that created the Spartain 2 program
57:45 the scene that broke my heart forever
1:39:35....the moment that made me go HELL YEAH AND what in the utter fuck????!!!! ALL. AT. THE. SAME. TIME
I adore this game :)
You should also watch the Halo 1 and 2 Terminals! Would love to watch that
To address the title... yes, yes we did. And it didnt disappoint, unlike the titles after Reach (some more than others).
1:16:21 that’s a covenant battle cruiser the brutes have control over it and the commander left to take it back from the brutes.
"I don't have any range, I have regrets"
No no no, its TRUTH you're going after. You already took care of regret. ;)
