    Prepare: Wrap the cuff around the upper arm snugly.
    Place Stethoscope: Position the stethoscope's bell over the brachial artery just below the cuff.
    Inflate Cuff: Inflate the cuff by squeezing the bulb until the gauge reads about 20-30 mmHg above the expected systolic pressure.
    Deflate and Listen: Slowly release the valve and listen for the first sound (systolic pressure) and continue to listen until the sound disappears (diastolic pressure).
    When taking blood pressure manually, it is most accurate to listen to the stethoscope for the Korotkoff sounds. Observing the needle's shaking can provide additional cues, especially if sounds are difficult to hear. BOTH listening and visual observation should be applied for the most accurate measurement!
