I started transitioning my dog off kibble using the free recipe you provided. I've already noticed her being more playful and more satisfied with the new food. Thank you for your lifesaving and health promoting videos!
Question- my vet said they are adding something to the food that is sold as grain fre that are causing heart mumers in dogs, so we took our dogs off of it and put them back on regular kibble. She said purina pro plan is good. What do you think?
I love love love this very do. I had a 4 yr old Pittie that died from cancer. She had tumors on 3 of her organs. She was on kibble the first 2 yrs. Then kibble and home cooked the last 2. I will def use your tips for my next pup! Thanks a bunch
Your dog needs a diet with low phosphorus levels!!! The recommended phosphorus level for dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is 0.2-0.5% on a dry matter basis. Also, you should absolutely be giving a quality fish oil supplement like Welactin (but I'd recommend "Life Line Pet Nutrition Wild Alaskan Fish Oil Omega-3 Supplement for Skin & Coat" which you can get off of Amazon as it has excellent "certificates of analysis")!!! The recommended amount of fish oil for dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is 10 milligrams per pound of body weight per day. I'd most likely give double or triple that as it's very safe! Also, very important to discuss this with your veterinarian as it's nuanced to treat as the stage of the disease (and age) is important when it comes to protein intake. Most dogs are better off getting higher protein levels in the range of between 15-30% so you need to ask your vet as this may not hold true for your dog!!! Yes I have a background in veterinary medicine if you're wondering. Purina and Hills have a CKD diet which is very effective! I wish your dog and you the best! Please, don't hesitate to ask me questions if you have some! P.S. you can also add a phosphorus binder to your dogs kibble or balanced home diet if you can't afford the special CKD diets that I mentioned previously. Here are some choices you can also purchase on Amazon: 1. Rx Vitamins Phos-Bind, 2. Epakitin and 3.Rx Phos-Flush Phosphate Binder. "Good Luck"!
Great video! I recently started feeding my 8 year old little doggies a raw food diet and the results are amazing! They are playful again, and their skin allergies are improving (along with castor oil on the skin). My doggies LOVE it! I recommend Paws of Prey channel on how to do raw so that it’s balanced and she explains why you don’t need to fear giving them raw food. Mine are handling it fine. I mean…they lick their butts…just sayin’. 😆 I specifically appreciate your reminders about supplementing with probiotic foods, the rotating of beneficial foods/herbs, and giving them cooked mushrooms. Thank you! 👏🏻
Let’s not get too crazy what’s balance or not… any homemade vs kibble is a step up. That said… yes I do cook for my dog, it’s simple them most think & all the ingredients are found in your local stores. I simply stick to a high protein, some low oxalate veggies & 5% organs. No corn or rice! Add calcium, omega or krill oil & fiber. Always rotating.
Actually studies show unbalanced homemade diets were more detrimental long term to health than a balanced kibble believe it or not. Of course the extent to which it is unbalanced will surely have a part to play as well but my recommendations for the importance of a balanced home made diet still stand.
Any mushroom that you can eat, so can your dog. Just make sure they are cooked through! The misinformation here may come from raw mushrooms not being safe which is largely true. Cooked is absolutely fine and beneficial.

They can be fine if cooked and part of a balanced diet.

Can my furbabies eat beef liver every day?
They can eat beef liver everyday as long as it's balanced in the overall diet or it could lead to lots of copper in the diet.

Can I use a crockpot to cook my fur babies food?
Why not as long as it's formulated to be balanced for them!

I heard mushrooms are poisonous for dogs. Is it only champignons that are poisonous? Why is there so much different information?

Rarely i give a can of sardines no salt in water
Why do mushrooms have to be cooked?
Some mushrooms have compounds in them that can lead to upset tummies in dogs, cooking completely deactivates them.
@@petcubesofficial Thank you! How about white button mushrooms are they safe to feed raw?!
No I cook for my dog and catssssssss rice once a month only the rest is proteins
