Gonna post here as motivation Update 2 - it is so gorgeous!!!! Ran out of yarn. Need to order more for the bottom layer. I’m using 50g yarn and used 13 so far. Update 3 - finished it after 48 hours. I could have done it in less than 44 but I redid the arms 3 times sadly🫠🫠length issues.
AAAAAAA!!! I JUST FINISHED MY DRESS!!! I'm so in love with this dress. The only thing I didn't do was add the sleeves. I have a wedding to go to and it will be outside. I didn't know if it would be too hot for sleeves. Buuuuut I'll add them at a later date. I also added a few extra rows. I'm wearing tall shoes with this dress and I wanted it to hang down a little more to the floor. I'm going to give it a little blocking and I will be posting pics. I made this dress with a few changes. I decreased around the small of my waist and increased around the hips, only making increases and decreases in the solid sections and it turned out absolutely perfect. Thank you for this tutorial you are such a saint for this. What a gorgeous pattern.
I've tried do to it when the video was posted but I was a baby crocheter back then and just moved on to other things without finishing the back part. Now, two months after, I've learned more things - and still have a lot to learn! - but I'm more able to do it. I'm increasing my vest right now on day two of work. I've started on this dress last night! It took me a shamefully long time and MANY rewinds at 0.25 speed to do the DC foundation chain 😂 I have to take a break for a few days for my wrist, but I've made it to the first shoulder of the front panel. (8ish hours with SO many frogged and re-stitched rows, as well as a few15-30 minute breaks)

I think I may crochet a little bit tighter or my legs are longer than I thought they were lol I did extra rows and it sits above my ankles by about 3”. I absolutely love this though and will be making another one now that I understand it better. I have done a lot of crochet in my life but clothes have always intimidated me. Idk why but I just felt an urge to make this as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Thank you for taking the time to do this, very clear and concise and maybe not beginner beginner friendly because you allow for a lot of creative freedoms that, for me when I was a new bike, definitely wouldn’t have tried it, but if you’ve crocheted a few other things this should be no issue. @@moriahspringer4553i think i ended up using about 1700 yards! i did end up running out of time and having to stop just a few rounds after the skirt’s stitches are doubled, so there’s no color changes there. most of the dress was black and made w/ loops & threads’ luxe merino yarn (weight 3, abt 3.5 skeins) and i had to improvise for the color changes bc my michael’s has a very small yarn variety. i used roughly 200-300 yards of various worsted weight yarns i had in my stash for the ends of the sleeves :} sorry if this isn’t very helpful or clear i lol i tend not to keep track of that kind of stuff (though now i wish i had lol)

I've started on this dress last night! It took me a shamefully long time and MANY rewinds at 0.25 speed to do the DC foundation chain 😂
I have to take a break for a few days for my wrist, but I've made it to the first shoulder of the front panel. (8ish hours with SO many frogged and re-stitched rows, as well as a few15-30 minute breaks)

I think I may crochet a little bit tighter or my legs are longer than I thought they were lol I did extra rows and it sits above my ankles by about 3”. I absolutely love this though and will be making another one now that I understand it better. I have done a lot of crochet in my life but clothes have always intimidated me. Idk why but I just felt an urge to make this as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Thank you for taking the time to do this, very clear and concise and maybe not beginner beginner friendly because you allow for a lot of creative freedoms that, for me when I was a new bike, definitely wouldn’t have tried it, but if you’ve crocheted a few other things this should be no issue. Love your style, can’t wait for more!!!

@@moriahspringer4553i think i ended up using about 1700 yards! i did end up running out of time and having to stop just a few rounds after the skirt’s stitches are doubled, so there’s no color changes there.
most of the dress was black and made w/ loops & threads’ luxe merino yarn (weight 3, abt 3.5 skeins) and i had to improvise for the color changes bc my michael’s has a very small yarn variety. i used roughly 200-300 yards of various worsted weight yarns i had in my stash for the ends of the sleeves :}
