- BIG CHANGES! Since Riu resorts added Elite Club, they have created a new level in terms of who you can enjoy exchange privileges with. If you were a guest of any Riu Palace resort, you used to be allowed to visit any other Riu resort in the area, for drinks, buffet lunch, as well as use of the pool areas and beach chairs.
Now that they’ve added Elite Club to some resorts, it’s only guests of those properties who are able to visit all.
On the positive side, you are now able to visit any of the other properties (in your category) for buffet breakfast and dinner, as well as lunch.
I’ve included a list of which resorts are in the Elite class, which are Palace and which are Riu Standard to clarify.

Thanks for the update. We are staying at the RIU Palace costa mujeres next month and plan on visiting the Riu Latino and Las Americas while we are there. Looks like this should still be a go !?
Hi RAS! I haven’t heard of any plans for Elite Club at those resorts, so you should be just fine. When I get home, I’ll see if I can get an updated list of which resorts are planning to add Elite Club & will post a video.
I was expecting to have access so I walked over there and within 90 seconds, Security had me turned around. Consequently, I was very glad to already have the reservation at Baja California so I didn’t need to re-work my video plan!!!

Hello! I am actually planning my wedding at Riu Palace Aruba. Would you know if this would apply to us? There is RIU palace and RIU Antillas and I didn't hear about these changes. Do you think well still be able to visit both properties?
Hi Isaiah! No unfortunately the Riu Palace Antillas has Elite Club so those guests will be able to use both but if you're staying at Riu Palace Aruba, you will only have access to your resort. You used to be able to go to Antillas for the pools, drinks, etc, but now you will only have access to the one property.
@isaiahortiz2119 Hi I wanted to update this to state that Riu Palace Antillas is PLANNED to have Elite Club but it isn't in place yet. So, depending on when your wedding is, you may still have access to both. Are you getting married this spring or summer? Reports have been back & forth on when the Elite Club rooms will be available, so you might be ok!!

Hi Gio! Yes you can stay at baja Cali & then hang out at any of the other pools. I had lunch at the RiuPalace Cabo San Lucas one day too - the Italian restaurant (buffet for lunch) has the BEST views, overlooking the beach & those amazing waves!
