Dear Sir - at example 4 the long column = 24 ft has a different k that the short column = 12 ft. Therefore each column has its own Tn and hence different accelerations. Otherwise you can create the long column from a very weak material with low E and nothing will happen.

Dear Sir - please look again at the graph. At zone Tn=10 seconds - the acceleration units are going greater from 1g to 1.1g but from top down. I think it should go up from bottom up. Otherwise it contradicts the true statement you said - In long deformation there is low acceleration almost zero.
