He was also told by Abbott (the seller) how rare that sapphire was, how many dangerous people were angry that she got it, and that someone would surely go after her for it. Seems like a contrived way to win his way back into her heart, by “saving” her in my opinion. Was it also necessary to make her more pathetic as if she needs to accept him back to protect her and help her draw again? Is she completely incapable of any amount of independence without this guy in her life? She should’ve stayed with the second male lead. He gave her moral support, believed in her, didn’t humiliate her in public, treated her well, and treated her like a capable person.
I noticed that no matter how many episodes have gone, none of us can get over how Gao Jie suffered from that very public humiliation and rightfully so. That is probably why many dropped the drama. To me, equally appalling is the way the vicious mother/daughter team got away from all the harm they caused. Even if there was forgiveness, punishment from violating laws should be handed down, otherwise, what's the point of having them.
You are so right! I am often disappointed that evil women are not punished at all in Chinese dramas. In this one there are a lot of scheming women and there is on Justice!
So true! It seems like many of the writers for these dramas don't understand that you need to put just as much work into bringing a couple back together as you put into breaking them apart. If you don't do that, the audience is left feeling bitter at the lazy resolution.
I took a really good look at her facial expression when he forced kissed her. The look of anguish and her remembering the humiliation. This girl has PTSD really bad. She might still love him but her look is that of someone suffering agony of remembering the harm done. He needs to be grateful she took him back. I'm not going to comment whether I agree or disagree on her choice. They will both need therapy to get over the pain inflicted on them and how to safely go forward in their future together and how to deal with conflicts. She cannot be his verbal punching bag and give him that stone face. She will fight but that face is a guarantee that she's had enough. He needs to be on his hands and knees for the rest of their lives. He put her in mortal danger with that harassment. Hope there's a part 2 so we can see him caring and loving her like he should have been doing all along. The knucklehead.

I agree he didn’t research the truth properly ( she also should have told him she was related to her aunt/ his step mum), he should have investigated further before the wedding then he would’ve know she had absolutely no involvement with her aunt taking over his company etc, he didn’t do that. Regardless you don’t humiliate the person you love when you are about to marry them absolutely unforgivable in my books. This young woman is absolutely stunning, she’s kind, incredibly talented she could have any man.

I know the storyline is for them to get back together but he truly needs to prove himself (and grovel for a while) to show he has grown up and become worthy of her trust after all he has done to harm her.
