With the MDRS system we are taking out the big dents in the bow of this vintage The Martin baritone.
Sorry for hitting the camerastand! ;-)
I like watching the saxophone magically get repaired :D
Man you performed a miracle on that old bari. That is an amazing tool. I hope I never need that kind of service but I'll have to ask my horn guy if he has one. Amazing work!
Thank you so much
Wow, I never would have imagined that if I didn't see it on the video.
Great job!
Hello how many kilos of power is your magnet?
How do you remove the tool without causing a new dent
You can usually "switch" a magnet like that off by rotating it so that the poles cancel each other out.
Where can I buy your magnetic ball and tools
Hello. What is the strength of a magnet? How many kilograms?
Nice job! Did the sax 0riginally have a bottom guard plate? If so, how did you remove it? Also, where did you purchase the tool that you used, is it specifically made for instrument repairs, or for cars?
Lacquered vs plated horns. Many horns come lacquered (clear, coloured) others plated (gold, silver). Does lacquering affect the sound quality negatively? Does plating have any affect?
Anderson C no not really
You do not mind that you are scratching as you push the magnet back and forth?
+Lynne Springer Not in this case no :-)
deQuelery Windinstruments & Workshop how do you make the metal where the dent used to be match the rest of the horn once you're done? will this work on a silver baritone in the smaller tubes or will it scrape off the finish beyond repair?
Hello, the 'bow-guard' was also very bent en dentet. After the bow of the baritone is smooth again than the bow-guard need to be handhamered in shape. From wood i made the same curve as that the bow is and handhamered the guard till its was smooth. After that resolder it back on the horn.
In this case the laquer is no issue. So i didn't use any protection between the tool and the body of the horn. Because the hirn gets polished and after that aged. When you are working on a silver horn or a gold laquered horn than my advise will be that you use a drum head skin of a small tom. It's smooth and strong and works great! :-)
Awesome!! Where can i get this tool??
Shamim Beyzaee its the MDRS. I bought it trough MusicMedic.com
I saw on the video that you had fixed saxophone dents. What magnet power do you use? I tried one for 80 KG but it did not work.
Евгений Алекс i'm not sure how much it pulls. The bigger the ball, the bigger the force.
:D
@@dequelerywindinstruments8375 so the power comes from the ...balls? I knew it!
user-oz3.....
You tried with 80 kg magnet and it did not work? Must be the ball too small. Or too fat the walls of the instrument? 80 kg are a lot man! If the magnet is that powerfull , you need to change bigger ball.
What is dent remover called?
Ehh.. magnetic dent remover? :)
james c mediou
So, you rub a flashlight on the dent and it fixes the dent, cool!
It's that easy! 🤣
Видел видео, где под магнит подкладывали плёнку, чтоб не портить лак.
harga alat magnetic nya berapaan
It looked like there was an earthquake at the very beginning
Are you kidding me. This saxophon would be a lost cause for me. I have a tiny dent and it crazies me out
Send it over ;-)
Non ho ai visto un sax peggiore di così
