I think Anette was just a perfect fit for bye bye Beautiful and Imaginaerium. I love her Pop Metal voice although it is distinctly different to Floor and Tarya (who I both adore). I just cannot connect to her new songs. The lyrics are just as flat as standard country or pop unfortunately.

So happy to see Russell and Anette get some love on this new Album. The first one they did was so good. Getting a second album was a bonus! Thank you for doing the cool interview and review. 💙
The intro alone is just GORGEUS. I wish Pinella was featured more (and SX released more) since Iconoclast, or that he and Russell did an album together. From Accolade II, Candlelight Fantasia, and Edge of Forever to When All Is Lost, Swan Song, and Communion and the Oracle, those key- and piano melodies + Russell's soulful voice are just THE PERFECT fit! Magic!
What a great song! Anette was the singer when I discovered Nightwish, and I love her contributions to the Nightwish legend. Russell is a powerhouse in his own right. What a duo.
I was going to say the same - the appreciation for every bit that goes into this is so often overlooked and when she mentions it, you then think, wow, a lot of effort did go into many moving parts of this.
Hooray! If you want to keep the duets going and you're looking for more, I highly recommend checking out Paradise by Within Temptation if you haven't yet. The chemistry between Sharon and Tarja will give you goosebumps!
I loved the previous album and have already listened to the new album and its all good songs from start to finish Olzon just proves again she is amazing and Allen has nothing to prove i have loved him since day one in Symphony X!!!
I would truly love to see Elizabeth do an analysis/reaction to Nightwish's Bye Bye Beautiful. It's probably my favorite song with Anette and Marco. There is so much emotion in that song, being that it's basically a departing nod to Tarja and all of the bands feelings of hurt and betrayal regarding their perceived impressions of her actions and attitude before the separation. The song is truly a milestone for Nightwish in that it's such an intimate view into the band's inner turmoil at a time of transition for them. They only performed Bye Bye Beautiful for a very short amount of time, before retiring the song. At the time there was a lot of animosity towards Anette from fans, and looking back it's very much as though the band's break up with Tarja reflected that of a romantic relationship, with Anette being the intense but short lived rebound relationship, before coming to a healthy "relationship" with Floor. From Wikipedia: "Bye Bye Beautiful" is written by Tuomas Holopainen about the band's former vocalist, Tarja Turunen, who was dismissed from the band with an open letter in October 2005, and his feelings before and after the time she changed her attitude towards the band and its music. This was at first rumored among fans and later revealed by Holopainen in an interview.[1] The chorus also contains the lyrics “Did you ever read what I wrote you?/ Did you ever listen to what we played?” in which the first part is a reference to the lyrics written by Holopainen, and the second part is about her lack of dedication to the music."
Allen/Olzon, huh? Check out some Allen/Lande next. Jørn Lande is one of the best hard rock/metal vocalists in the world. Maybe his cover of "I Walk Alone" by Tarja (yes, from Nightwish). It's incredible.
Just spent the whole evening diving into Elizabeth singing and it has opened up my appreciation of what she's gifting us to a whole new level. I always liked her reactions but one would never think she's as good as she is at singing by watching her reactions...so happy to have a live streaming to go and say hello in a few hours.
I remember when Annette became the singer for Nightwish, her voice is amazing on Storytime. The power of Russell's voice is incredible. He has so many bands/projects, my favorite is Symphony X. These two together were destined to make this song a must listen.
The Dark Element aka Anette and Jani Liimatainen. Oh and Jani has a solo album. Haunted House is his solo song. He hits a note that just keeps going, doesn't stop lol. Haunted House is a sad song too all of the feels and tears.

Excellent work, exceptional music, keyboard lines and the feeling of the guitar in the intro, My God, congratulations for analyzing this masterpiece🫡👊💪🇧🇷

just listened to her "Shine" solo album for the 1st time a few weeks ago, one of these life-changing albums for sure, it was so funny because I listened to it while I was on the later half of my daily commute back home, and then the album starts playing, the way the drums are recorded is so great, it felt like I was marching to an epic battleground or something... viking rock is nuts 🤣🤣🤣
they really nailed Emotion and the pop melodies sound in that album, but the viking undertones are always present, the drums specially, it's like norse war drums beating in the background of this mellow poppy music, really interesting contrast 🤣🤣🤘

This was great! I discovered your channel with your analysis of Sound of Silence by Disturbed, and I love your videos! Not sure why I never subbed but it's done now! I don't know if you'll ever see this, but please please please do a video on The Warning. ANY of their songs, they are that good. Choke, Evolve, Dust to Dust, Survive, too many other ones to list! 3 young sisters that are tearing up the rock scene right now. They can all sing wonderfully but Daniela (lead guitar) and Paulina (Drums) both do lead vocals depending on the song, and sometimes share during the same song. They are so incredible!
I would so love to see your reaction and hear your analysis of Tamino. His live performances are always spectacular. 'So It Goes,' live at the Olympia in Paris is astounding. I really think you'd love it! Always love watching your videos. I know you're probably bombarded with requests but I hope some other subscribers of yours also like Tamino.
Russell is a powerhouse. I'm so glad Symphony X found him, as it's my favorite style of composition combined with my favorite singer. It's technical, dark, heavy, creative and never boring. On the other hand, Magnus Karlsson projects such as this one never resonate with me. He always composes this sort of "pop-metal" project albums then hires great singers... but somehow it feels kind of soulless. Just my personal opinion.
I would love to see what you think of the singer in Fit for an autopsy, i am absolutely enthralled by how he incorporates clean vocals into heavy music, and also the massive range of his fry screams! love the channel, keep up the good work please!
it always breaks my heart when I find a new band that is perfect on the instrumental part, dark, moody, heavy, flawless, but then the vocals kick in and it's just this unoriginal cheap "guttural" screaming nonsense... so hearing about anyone incorporating clean vocals into metal style definitely sparks my curiosity... any song in particular for 1st impressions?
my recommendation would be something like Wintersun - Loneliness (Winter) it felt like this new exciting thing to hear that guy sing in that clean melodic way over a metal song, still sounds impressive to this day
Just a thought...A semi-tongue in cheek breakdown of cult fav Slim Whitman, breaking down his insanely unique yodel vocals would be outstanding...gen x and gen y children pushed him back to underground fame after a successful career in the earlier part of his life. He has been featured in many niche movies, including the remake of Mars Attacks...you would be shocked at all the views you could get explaining, light heartedly, his technique...I know, it's silly, but I think it would work...
Magnus Karlsson is the genius behind Allen/Olzen, also Allen/Lande, Kiske/Somerville, Freefall, Starbreaker, Heart Healer, and other projects and the band Primal Fear.
Is it possible to react/analyze Lacuna Coil. Christina Scabbini is one ov the Goddess's ov metal and kind of blows my mind she hasn't been requested or covered. They have 2 singers 1 male and 1 female and are different styles that blend so well. Please do Blood, Tears, Dust from the 119 show. Or anything from the 119 show. You will be blown away it took this long. Keep up the great work!
I have the suggestion for the future video: the band calls "Pavlov's Dog". They are from 70-th and have the truly unique vocalist. Probably the most known composition of this band is "Julia". I didn't find a musical video from the 70-th, but there is the intriguing live record from 2017 at KDHX.
Since you covered Russell Allen Jorn Lande definitely deserves recognition! :) )) Bridget Fogle is a very unknown, but amazing voice, as well. Luca Turilli's Dreamquest is the band where she performed epicly.
me still waiting for a dir en grey reaction 🥹 i would kill for vinushka live or world of mercy live, hell even different sense, all great songs that display some awesome vocal performances :)

Hi just subscribed. One of my favourite bands is Supertramp, and I think you will totally respect their musicianship and above all their vocalists. I suggest you could start with The Logical Song, also Rudy, Bloody Well Right, Take The Long Way Home, Good Bye Stranger and many more....! Enjoy 🙂

I always liked Anette Olson. Her first solo album sound very sincere and introspective and she sings beautifully. She was the singer when I listened to Nightwish music for the first time, and the Imaginaerum album is just fantastic! What I don't like much is this over processed music production, with tons of compression and pitch correction (autotune) used.I know that maybe this "too polished" music will help to sell more music, but personally I would like to listen to more natural sounding music.
I wish a very established metal artist like Mike Patton, would hire her to do an epic recording w legendary vocals.... I'd love to see them push eachother to try and Go further than ever before. She could become an instant legend.
It would be great if you added more Russell Allen content. There are certainly better songs to evaluate his vocals, whether in Symphony X, Allen/Lande or Adrenalide Mob. He's a master!

I like Tamino!
still so great a good combo
Anette’s voice is like silk ❤
Russell is a powerhouse. I'm so glad Symphony X found him, as it's my favorite style of composition combined with my favorite singer. It's technical, dark, heavy, creative and never boring. On the other hand, Magnus Karlsson projects such as this one never resonate with me. He always composes this sort of "pop-metal" project albums then hires great singers... but somehow it feels kind of soulless. Just my personal opinion.
I would love to see what you think of the singer in Fit for an autopsy, i am absolutely enthralled by how he incorporates clean vocals into heavy music, and also the massive range of his fry screams! love the channel, keep up the good work please!
it always breaks my heart when I find a new band that is perfect on the instrumental part, dark, moody, heavy, flawless, but then the vocals kick in and it's just this unoriginal cheap "guttural" screaming nonsense... so hearing about anyone incorporating clean vocals into metal style definitely sparks my curiosity... any song in particular for 1st impressions?
my recommendation would be something like Wintersun - Loneliness (Winter)
it felt like this new exciting thing to hear that guy sing in that clean melodic way over a metal song, still sounds impressive to this day
Napalm Dreams or Mirrors are both very good examples, but really all their songs are very good
@@FeelingShred thats not bad you know, going in the list
She's 50 now, still got the voice
Good morning Elizabeth, from my northern Wisconsin farm. See you then.
Bridget Fogle is a very unknown, but amazing voice, as well. Luca Turilli's Dreamquest is the band where she performed epicly.
Where’s Sigur Ros?! I searched for your take on them, but found nothing! Would love to see your reaction! ❤
Hope everyone has a great weekend! See you all Monday!
Have a great weekend too, Tony!
@@kirbys1370 thank you so much 🙏! Kirby S!
me still waiting for a dir en grey reaction 🥹 i would kill for vinushka live or world of mercy live, hell even different sense, all great songs that display some awesome vocal performances :)
oh and did i mention that Russell Allen has recorded and performed with Trans-Siberian Orchestra?
heres an example from a "few" years ago from my online friend and buddy Brad and yes!! it was amazing to see him do this live with the Orchestra th-cam.com/video/qYoYfx3t1JE/w-d-xo.html
Elizabeth Zharoff❤😙😘😍 🤘
Have you ever stopped to appreciate the crazy, beautiful voices of the B-52s? Amazing harmonies, and Fred's just...weird, vocally. This one is Roam, which really showcases Kate and Cindy.

Enjoy 🙂
That's one of Kirk's favorite bands too, and he's been asking for a while. It's going to happen!
@@TheCharismaticVoice Kirk FTW. He's a keeper.
@@TheCharismaticVoice If Kirk likes Supertramp, he's a keeper. He is, though, a late-comer to the game as I well remember Supertramp's songs playing on the radio when they were brand new. 🙂
Shall we continue the channell tradition of having a Helloween 🎃🎃song on Halloween🎃 ? I say yes!
Might even have just the thing. Back in 2009 they had a record in which they Post Modern Jukeboxed some of their hits. The big band jazz version of Dr. Stein is really on point and comes whit an hilarious video. th-cam.com/video/5yUihyOKxww/w-d-xo.html There's also an excellent choice from last year's album, Out for the Glory is a kickass song and the video is about a spooky dream, so it fits the season. th-cam.com/video/m5rUkqvCDVY/w-d-xo.html
Halloween with Werekirk, Morticiabeth and the powerful future monster masher Mycroft as a spooky charismatic family? Totally stupid idea, when does it start? I'm in! 😁👉👍👍👍
It would be interesting if you reacted the new single "Transgressor" by Stryper. The vocalist Michael Sweet has kept his voice still amazing after 40 years of singing. Inspirational!
One million followers, so one million suggestions! Music is a rich field to plow, sow and reap. And of course I put one in too for you to dissect: Squirm by the Dave Matthews Band
Love your channel! have you ever considered songs by Pat Benetar?
I always liked Anette Olson. Her first solo album sound very sincere and introspective and she sings beautifully. She was the singer when I listened to Nightwish music for the first time, and the Imaginaerum album is just fantastic! What I don't like much is this over processed music production, with tons of compression and pitch correction (autotune) used.I know that maybe this "too polished" music will help to sell more music, but personally I would like to listen to more natural sounding music.
Wow! It would be wonderful if you react to something by SymphonyX... And Vision Divine with Michele Luppi!
I wish a very established metal artist like Mike Patton, would hire her to do an epic recording w legendary vocals.... I'd love to see them push eachother to try and
Go further than ever before. She could become an instant legend.
Guess what... Rob and Austin from Home Free: Two COUNTRY Singers try singing OPERA! Austin Brown x Rob Lundquist - "Nessun Dorma"
I'd love to see you react to The Tea Party, either Temptation or Heaven Coming Down.
It would be great if you added more Russell Allen content. There are certainly better songs to evaluate his vocals, whether in Symphony X, Allen/Lande or Adrenalide Mob. He's a master!
You should really really react to tommy körberg - O helga natt (O Holy Night) Tommy is a swedish opera singer! i think you will really like it :D
I've been a fan of Annette since 2007 . Check out her other band The Dark Element - Songs the Night Sings. Another good band is Brothers of Metal, almost any song of their's will surprise you
I'd love to watch your analysis of the voice of Steve Grimmet from the band Grim Reaper, who died recently. Really love his voice
I think "Grim Reaper - See you in Hell live 1987" is a good choice (it's the last song on the show)
The Onslaugt album with him is one of my all time favorit… didn’t now That he died😔
You need to checkout The Darkness / Believe In A Thing Called Love. Love the voice in the song
You’re stunning. Had to be said. 😎
Do you know Apocalyptica? They don't have a permanent singer, but it would be interesting to see what you say about them.
I'm not sure if you have already done a review on the band kitty but their any brackish is amazing .they are a all female metal band from the 2000 era
Noora from battle beast is waiting for your reaction...
Would love for you to react to a diamond head song. Metallica has covered a lot from their first album and has been very vocal stating them as a huge influence, plus their singer was incredible on the first 3 albums. Live videos are hard to find but their best era was 1979-1982. They are also known for being one of the first thrash metal bands ❤ love your videos
If you looking for the next song to react to: Hoist the colours - Bass singers of Tiktok.
It's so fun seeing you react to deep voices, and with F1 in chest voice I'm sure we're in for some giggling.
PLEASE You have to do Jane Says by Jane’s Addiction!!
