I love Anette. For those who say she can't sing, watch her perform Slow Love Slow on the Montreaux festival in 2012 and then repeat that she can't sing, then you are lying. And she kicks ass as well. Check out her Dark Element project or her solo work. I would recommend the song 'Parasite' from her album 'Strong'.
Hello, this is the Song three years ago. After the funeral of my Mum 🌹♥️♥️, And in the evening, i am alone at home, i hear Meadows of Heaven. Thanks Annette an Tuomas for this. When i see see your reaction, i cry again. With love from nothern Germany
I absolutely love this song, for me this is Anette's finest moment, and you certainly can't fault anything on her two albums with Nightwish. Great reaction guys, always a pleasure to see you guys discovering great music 🤘
One of my favorite songs from Dark Passion Play album, along with Eva and Escapist. This song is so emotionally charged. There is a sadness in it, a longing for the carefree past, turning into a cry of soul at end. Minor beginning immediately sets up this sadness. This is a beautiful song!
I found this song so much nice and fitting (and "accessible" to people who know zero about Nightwish or even this genre) that i let it play at my mother's funeral... the day after tomorrow, it will be three years.
Cadence of Her Breath and For the Heart I once had are my favourites from the Anette era. (And the Crow, the Owl and the Dove). It's good to see/hear Anette back in the channel😊
you both NEED to hear 'the heart asks pleasure first'....a B-side from the Imaginaerum album, and a cover of a piece of music by Michael Nyman that Tuomas wrote his own lyrics for. Its stunning and Anette is sensational on that song! Such an underrated and underreacted to song!
Anette and the Metro voices choir are doing all the singing. Marko is not credited with any vocals on this song. It's from Dark Passion Play, the 13th and final track. One of several ballads on the record.
Anette has a very nice voice, sometimes it sounds crystal clear. I really like her album Imaginaerum, which Tuomas wrote specifically for her vocals. Each singer brought something unique to NW and added to the variety.
best nightwish song and im happy that goes to anette time and her voice like you say is made this song like tuomas the metal mozart doing. it´s shamefull this song not heard any movies. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful day. usa gospel is the best.
There is a live fan video with ok audio. They had "rain" effect towards the end of the song. Nightwish - Meadows of Heaven @ Hartwall Arena 19.09.09 Anette Olzon - Meadows of Heaven (Live), Anette solo with an orchestra Anette Olzon - Meadows of Heaven (acoustic) a 3 minute clip, several years after she left Nightwish. Gregorian made a cover, live in St. Petersburg 2016
She did a really lovely Ghost Love Score at Hartwall too, it's a shame the band didn't release any official lives with Anette. Definitely second Meadows of Heaven with the orchestra, probably her best version!
Oh my. Simply beautiful. I read someone once write that this was her crowning jewel and I have to agree. So so beautiful. I wonder if there’s a live version?
A gospel of nostalgy, to be human, those thins you lost when ageing, but things never washed away from your soul no matter what happens. Longing isn't sin, it's part of what we are.
Thanks for the reaction for this beautiful and sad song. Next you need to react to Eva. Another masterpiece which showcases Annettes vocals. The lyrics are a bit mysterious but for me it's a story about a girl who is bullied in school. Full of emotion and beauty. Tears in my eyes everytime. And one more thing! When you react to the the crow, the dove and the owl, pls use the fanmade video to really capture the emotion in that song as well. The ending in the video will bring tears to your eyes, I promise.
Sure. th-cam.com/video/iyY5QMf41dk/w-d-xo.html Now, to be clear it says official fan video. I'm not exactly sure that it means it's created by a fan but it's a great video anyway.
While you're at it, try Gregorian's (live Berlin 2016 is great) version of this one! All in all this song doesn't get enough credit. Anette kills it, the lyrics and the melody are beautiful and Emppu nails his solo.
Anette had one of the best female voice ever. Please react the song For The Heart I Once Had you'll love it.. and your Project with the ex Sonata Arctica Jani Liimatainen THE DARK ELEMENT...greetings from Argentina
One of my faves. NW hardly ever performed this live (possibly only at Hartwall Arena September 2009?), and there's only phone footage. However Nightwish Arena have remastered it, and it's quite watchable and a great performance. Anette has also performed it solo with live choir and orchestra. Both are worth watching! (Links in separate reply since sometimes posts with links get deleted)
Also on Imaginaerum is Anette singing "The Crow, the owl, and rhe dove." Composed by Marco. Lyrics by Tuomas. 2012. Nuclear Blast records made a contest for a fan animation. This was won by Pedro Jose Antunes Hipolito Cavo of Portugal 🇵🇹. This is not reacted to much as most people search for live performances. I personally love their entire ecosystem. In fact, I came for the music and stayed for the people. Nightwish - The Crow, the Owl and the Dove (Official Fan Video).
I would love to see more songs with Anette here. "Turn loose the mermaids" is a really beautiful folky song. You could also check out her solo work or her in "The dark element"!
Well spoken and it shows your humility when say you don't know whether you deserve that meadow of heaven. But do you know that you can go to Jesus? He can wash away all your things you have done wrong, He can make you clean and make things straight again. The only you need to do is to go to Him and trust Him that He does the rest.
You get to hear this far less than it deserves. It's somethinf quite different from Mightwish, and I have to say that it may just be my favourite from Annette. THanks very much for your great reaction. :)
For me, Annette is to Nightwish what Blaze Bayley is to Iron Maiden: unlistenable. I've given Annette every chance; I just can't stand her in Nightwish. Given their previous sing's abilities, I don't know what Tuomas was thinking.
Tuomas had already tried to make Tarja sing in a more contemporary way on "Century Child" and "Once". Considering that NW achieved their biggest commercial success with the two Anette albums, I'd say that hiring a mediocre pop singer was the right decision. Quality suffered, but who cares as long as dosh keeps flowing in? In fact, this didn't change when Floor joined. At all. Compare her performance at Wacken 2013 (or with her previous bands) to the very relaxed, non-challenging, mainstream way she sings today (and has been since about 2015). This is what seems to attract the most people, for some inexplicable reason. The difference being that what's unchallenging for Floor, was quite challenging for Anette...
This truly shows what and amazing singer (IN MY OPINION) Anette Olzon is.
Right !
Oh it's the opinion of many, look how many views the Anette playlist on my channel has already garnered.

The softness and beauty of Anette's voice is incredible. She is perfect for emotional songs.
This one, Eva, Turn loose the mermaids and The crow the owl and the dove are so amazing. And of course Rest calm.
I concur
Scaretale, she is better than Floor on that one
Yep, that (plus Slow Love Slow) s my go-to list for Anette songs.
@@Honken55 Anette is Scar tale. There's no one in this world besides Anette that can do that song justice.
@@Honken55 Agree I think he studio performance on Scaretale is absolutely amazing, I also think Amaranth suits her better for me as well.

Annete was phenomenal in Nightwish. The two records she was on are my favourites.
Cadence of her last breath and Whoever brings the night 👍👍
Closing track on 'Dark Passion Play' 🤘
You are 100% right. Anette shines on this track.
This is a masterpiece from Anette.
I absolutely love this song, for me this is Anette's finest moment, and you certainly can't fault anything on her two albums with Nightwish. Great reaction guys, always a pleasure to see you guys discovering great music 🤘
Love this song.
CRYSTAL VOICE AND ONE OF THE MOST BEAYTIFUL NIGHTWISH BALLADS !
I concur.

Yes - this is. Pure Heaven, perfection by Anette and Tuomas kombo !!! Marco is there also and a choir. Emppu has his moment too as you say.

good reaction,,,,,great song
Loved your comments and observations at the end!
Annette is great. Her latest solo album reminds me of nightwish filtered through Lacuna coil
Thanks for the reaction for this beautiful and sad song.
