@@PureCountryof91 2008 Taxi LPG Barra has stronger rods and is good for 540rwkw. Needs valve springs and oil pump gears if you are going to be bouncing off the limiter. Head studs are a good idea also.
Scotty ya doing well .. little pointer for ya .. when miging push the wire into the gas flow it is opposite to stick welding were you lay it in ... the gas has to push the air away from the weld .. have a practice and see what your welds come out like .. just a pointer mate .. keep up the great work

Great Stuff 👍. If that was a UK or Irish MX5 , you'd have nothing to weld to with all the rust that you'd have to deal with first . Don't put too good of brakes on it though, or you'll need wheelie bars on the front 🤣

Hey guys, I’m just wondering what cutting discs you use when chopping aluminium. I’ve got a sump and an intake plenum from a 2.9 V6 Cosworth engine that need modifying and never been happy with the discs that I get locally.

hey scotty,.put on some tig gloves and hold the mig gun further toward the tip, your hands wont smell like burnt flesh and you'll have better control. keep up the great work!!!
I personally prefer not to wear gloves when doing Precision welding like this myself. Kind of hard to control by feel if you're working through thick leather gloves. Having small burns on the back of your hand is just part of the trade-off for more precise alignments and welds
I've never welded ok, so this is a straight question. Do the plates which you welded to the chassis need bracing? Thinking the weight and torque of the engine will be applied to a flat piece of metal.
Its recently that ive seen people start to turbo the stock NA motors, do you guys recommend with moderate load and decent care that turbo'ing an NA is worth it?
If you keep the boost moderate it can certainly work well. When ypu push things above 15psi you are just asking for trouble. If it's going to be running on 98 I'd even suggest a boost limit of 13psi or so, E85 gives a larger safety margin.

i basicaly have no worries about the toughness of your mounts ....i only hope that you can lift the motor straight up to remove it ( transmissions ..etc ) because you can not move in any direction but up .....because the base is welded and not mounted ...

Umm, isn't it a bad idea to try to instantly cool Welds that were just completed? I've always been told that causes micro cracks and weakness in the joints. I've also heard that dowsing just welded Parts in water is even worse because it can cause water to be trapped inside of the weld in small microscopic bubbles causing the weld to rust from the inside out.

Yep, he added bracing underneath towards the end, from the chassis to the end of the flat plate.

We put the oil return in the sump. All the sumps are cast for the oil return but you have to drill them in the NA versions
Ill send my is200 1jz down for you guys to finish it and make a series on ;)

You unbolt the mounts at the engine block. Take the shackle mount off and you can move whatever way you like
