    Ugggghhh, I had a friend have her dietician put her on the HCG diet. I tried to stop her from doing it, but her dietician swore it was awesome. I saw her put all the weight back on and struggle to normalize her metabolism. Not all experts are really experts!!!!

    I did the HCG diet. I lost 50 pounds in like 3 months. I went from 240 to 190. I have sustained around 195-200 for about 2 years. I did change my life style after tho. But it was a great start for me to getting healthy.

    Just know most people are absolutely clueless when it comes to health and fitness. People go on fad diets and stay on the treadmill 100% of the time. Get off the bread, dairy, and minimize your sugar intake. Get in the gym and lift weights. Hypertrophy and strength training. Eat so your body can refuel. Also stop trying to take the shortcut. Be here for the long haul. It’s about consistency and longevity. Been doing this for 9 years.

    • @eddyecho
      @eddyecho 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cashtache I think you took that bit too literally. Obviously if you are eating ezekiel bread and greek yogurt youre probably fine. Most people dont eat the healthy stuff though. They eat ice cream, cronuts, donuts, danishes, cookies, cake, fried butter, etc. PRetty sure thats what Blake was implying by saying to get off the bread and dairy. Most people don't think of food purely as fuel. They think of it as sustenance if they're in a hurry or short on cash and culture or entertainment otherwise.

    @TAK82002 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Mostly great advice! I have one issue though. When discussing stomach staples it seemed like you guys were saying it doesnt work at all. Maybe im misunderstanding it. But several studies have shown that getting that procedure, in combination with a well-structured diet plan, is actually more effective in losing weight. Of course just getting the procedure wont cause weight loss by itself, but it can be used as an adjunct with diet planning and exercise.

    • @quengmingmeow
      @quengmingmeow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’m not sure if I understand you completely, but it seems to me that ANY procedure followed by proper diet and exercise will result in positive results. The question is this: what’s the difference between a person that gets a procedure like stomach stapling followed by a high quality nutrition and exercise program and that same person skipping the medical procedure and just doing the identical high quality nutrition and exercise program? Do those two versions of that person look any different from each other in 2 years? 3 years? 5 years? 10 years? The cold hard truth is that the overwhelming majority that get those types of procedures don’t follow a lifetime program of high quality nutrition and exercise. That person will “look good” in the short run, but with temporary nutrition changes, the results are also only temporary.

    I'd like to see the data on how many patients that have had the lat band stomach surgery, and how many of them have gone from obese to "healthy" weight, and kept it off for 5 or more years.
    I've known 4 people that have had the procedure that are close relationships in my life. Of those 4, 1 was successful, while the others fell back into the old habits and ate the same highly palatable highly processed foods. So in my experience it's a 25% success rate, I'm hoping it's higher than that. Otherwise this potentially risky surgery is just our present day "magic diet pill".

I'm sure it's a similar story here. Those who build good habits first, will only be increasingly successful with overall health. Just my opinion as I have no date to back that up.
