Hello! I've been a silent viewer for a long time but I feel like I have to comment on this because it is getting out of hand. I am so glad you mentioned the bullying and hate comments! people need to learn that's not ok at all and this is not the first story I've heard of these past couple of months. Those forums are always a bad place but I think because more people at at home with extra free time they turn to youtube for some entertainment and just because there are vloggers putting PART of their lives online, these people might think that gives them the right to give their opinion about how they live their lives and judge. The only thing those forums do is ignite a flame and the people commenting just keep it going and it makes me sick. I think the real world is already bad enough right now to also pass that negativity online.
I really save up your videos for a nice calm morning watch - I know people say this every other comment but it's mad that that's the vibe you put across when you're also talking very honestly about a lot of not lovely things! Being a creator seems like such an envied and begrudged job - obviously from the outside it has lots of perks but if I had a faceless audience telling me I was shit at both my job and my general life every day I was at work I'd cry every day. I'm sure you're shamed for it a lot but I think talking honestly about the struggles and the hate is both useful to the wider conversation and 100% something you're entitled to discuss
I always look forward to these 168 hours videos. They are always interesting, brilliantly edited, and give you an insight as to how other people are creating a new normal (hate that phrase) for themselves. The people you are living with are certainly coming out with creative ways to get through it. It was interesting how you reacted to being back in your own place and that, despite the sense of the community you had in your boyfriend's flat to get through it, it was the expense of what this was costing which was more valuable than money - personal freedom, independence, and that life you had built up for yourself over the last couple of years. That is something that is very hard to let go of, no matter how short a time that would be for. As for the haters, they will always hate. As much as the internet was developed to save us, it will in the end be our downfall and as usual at the hands of our own arrogance. Maybe there should be some in built thing with social media where if nasty comments are reported, the administrators of that platform can automatically change the username from being anonymised and private to their real names (assuming they used them to create their accounts) and the email address they registered with.
I've been really anxious these days and your videos are so calming and visually pleasing always. There is so much compassion that shows for yourself and others and even your viewers that it inspires me to be more compassionate too.
Two articles you might enjoy: "From Pet to Threat" and "Why Do Successful Women Pretend to Be a Mess?" that touches on what you're talking about for how women are perceived and treated after becoming successful.
great chat at the end lucy! I think you're very perceptive to bring in the sociological/psychological perspective of the group/mob mentality. I wish more people would speak about this because unfortunately a great number of people find their social fulfilment exclusively online and that doesn't seem to be going away - these people need to be held accountable for their online actions just as they would if they harassed/intimidated/attacked someone in person. Keep on keeping on babe! Xx
Loved this one 🌟💓✨your content always puts me in a better mood, I am’currently suffering with huge Pms and just taking it slow allowing myself to have bad’ blues day while listening to how you manage pur current crisis helps a lot thank you Lucy
Thanks for the chat at the end Lucy. I think it's amazing that youtubers manage to get shit done knowing that their every action can be twisted against them, so much respect for you guys.
I really felt that moment of you at your flat, I haven't been "home" so to speak (I live in Dublin but it's not where I'm from, & where I'm living def isn't home rn) since before the outbreak, so I totally understand what you're going through. It's wonderful you're surrounded buy such a lovely bunch tho, the 'pub crawl' was so nice! And you're so right to bring up the online harassment, it's such a huge issue that is just constantly swept under the rug. Thanks for always keeping things real Lucy xx
your frustrations with living in the wrong place because of quarantine really resonated with me, i've been living at home with my parents since mid march instead of being in my university town with my friends and have no clue when i'll be able to go back :( you going back into your flat made me super emotional lol
Hey Lucy, another silent viewer who felt the need to comment. The moment you filmed being back in your own room really resonated with me. I live in London but left for up North before things got bad. Never had any idea how long this would go on and am feeling a real sense of loss for my "old" life, not knowing when I'll get to return to it. It's affected 20s/30s in a way I guess none of us could have anticipated and the idea of a second wave feels devastating. I'm going through a covid related break up due to distance/strain, so wanted to say thank you for your Vlogs because they have been a welcome distraction and source of comfort. I am sorry to you have had tough time away from your home. So thank you and hope you are well! xx
I loved this so much. I've been watching your videos for years and I honestly feel like you've become a friend. I think you have such a healthy balance between sharing and keeping boundaries, I'm beyond impressed. Your work ethic and that quality of your work blows me away every week. I hope you have a great week! thanks for being a calming space I can rely on
These videos are such a massive inspiration to me, as a 17 year old hoping to find a career in some sort of creative, documentary field. The intricacy and care that Lucy films with and the way she uses her surroundings to piece together a story so seamlessly is fascinating and I’m genuinely so thankful to her as a resource.
I'm also locking down at my partners' house and I'm obviously really thankful I can be with them but on the other hand, I share your sadness at not having your own space/stuff around during this time. It was nice to hear you voice that, and you're not alone in feeling the frustration! I hope we can both go back to our homes safely soon
thank you for talking about women and online hate/harassment. in a way it feels like an extension of other sorts of gendered double standards, but you do bring up the interesting point that so many of these forums etc are by women, against women. that's just such a bummer, and i commend you for calling it out, cuz i think you're right that it is at least in large part fueled by ingrained sexism, and the more we talk about it the more we can recognize it in ourselves and those around us, to move towards making change!
i don't know how familiar you are with margaret atwood's writing, but her novel "cat's eye" touches on a lot of the topics you talked about at the end of the video! there are these really fascinating themes of this patriarchy that's ultimately enforced and upheld by many of the women in the novel (even the main character herself) and it's a really interesting and well-written look at girlhood, art, trauma, and healing. if you need a good fiction lock down read that's reminiscent of those topics without being too on-the-nose, i definitely recommend it!!
I'm definitely now in my first proper mental health slump of isolation right now and it's so hard. Uni deadlines next week and all :( Your videos are a super useful distraction for me though, so thank you
In the Australia context it’s widely acknowledged that the culture has a really toxic tendency toward cutting successful people down. It’s called “tall poppy syndrome” and makes up a lot of the bullying culture in schools and in broader society. Interesting to see this tendency in online culture as well with perceived anonymity but with the same cultural justification for the behaviour. Thank you for talking about it. Love. Your. Jam. X
Lucy I want you to know how much I and your other supporters appreciate your content right now 💛 It’s thoughtful and interesting, plus it’s hella relaxing 💕 Be as kind to yourself as possible
I love journaling so much. As you can tell by my username. 😂 It just helps lift everything of your mind let's you get in touch with your feelings and helps to focus. At least for me. There's an amazing journaling community on instagram if you ever need/want inspiration.♥️
I loved this video so much. I haven't fully LOVED a video on here for so long and everything about this was lovely. Thank you for being vulnerable and standing in solidarity with other creators experiencing hate and educating your audience about it! Also absolutely loved the pub crawl, it was so cute and such an amazing idea!!
I’ve gotten back into TH-cam since the pandemic and I’m just loving you’re videos! I’d forgotten how much I love your channel. This was so relatable and almost reassuring I guess knowing that everyone’s going through the same ups and downs. I did really like the new format too.
Very nice video Lucy, the part at the end felt really important in light of what happened with Hana kimura these past few days. Online hate is sooo hurtful I can't even imagine.
Watching your videos is part of my Sunday morning now and it's a really nice way to wake up :) I've also been feeling kinda meh and weird and blue this week, glad it's not just me :) Also with the stuff thing - i remember going a little crazy when I first moved in w bae bc I had a suit for interviews and 2 dresses and a cardie to keep me going and it was honestly THE WORST like yeah he had books I could borrow but if I felt like scrap booking or writing this one story in this one notebook (out of like 20) then I was scuppered. It was so frustrating and annoying and also kinda stupid that I was missing my stuff but once I hauled a few more bits and pieces on the train with me I felt so much more settled. I think it was also a result of being stressed that I'd been to like 20 interviews and not got a single one. (I'm always one of those people that doesn't realised how stressed I am until I snap over something really small and woops mental breakdown for a few hours) and then on top of that you don't really have a space that is JUST yours and it's like I'm an extrovert but even I need a little Zen time (for me it's usually Sunday mornings when partner is asleep) Basically I feel you with the stuff thing! Haha
Honestly Lucy, these vlogs are so nice!! They're gorgeous and creative but even if they weren't, I'd still watch and enjoy them - it's just nice to feel like you have a bit of company, and it's fun seeing what others get up to during lockdown :) Really glad to see how you were kind to yourself and turned your mood around, I think we all have those Bad Brain Days, now more than ever xx
My hairdresser told me you can mix baking soda with your shampoo once a week to remove residue! It leaves my hair kinda dry but it has lots of volume afterwards. If you give it a go just be sure to condition well after you wash! (Can strip hair colour so be careful) Best of luck ✌
I like how open you are about hate, a lot of people who are following you that want to maybe become youtubers one day definitely need to know that information.
@@lucymoon That's such a good idea, being a TH-camr seems like a challenge but in some areas it's even more challenging being a female identified one. Your videos always look so beautiful 😍 I love your 168 hours vlogs. Im glad you took a break, it’s best to be kind to ourselves during this time! Your group meals look so lovely and I’m so jealous of the fun you had with your ‘pub crawl’ 😭
I’ve always loved your content and I’m appreciating it even more now ❤️ An idea for a video is maybe having a fashion show or presentation night or w your current flat mates? Like those Tik toks? But also it makes total sense that some of them wouldn’t want to be on camera so maybe just for you guys to do on your own!
I really enjoyed this 168 hours and the previous one too. Something about your vlogs is so calming and enjoyable. I have to say though my heart breaks for you guys in the UK (and everywhere else badly affected by COVID)...I’m from New Zealand so my covid experience has been very different to yours and I can’t imagine being in lockdown for 9 weeks - our 7 week lockdown was long enough - I really hope you guys don’t get a second wave and that your government manages things properly ❤️
I just ADORE your videos. Honestly, Lucy, I need you to know that your videos are fab, so beautiful and so god damn honest. Yours are the only videos/content I am looking forward to now. I have been raving about you to my partner, so now he follows you on Insta, and we love your outfits and everything you put up. Keep it up.
I already adore the style you’ve edited this in! So dreamy Based on your last video, I got some Sony noise can cling headphones and they are absolutely a life saver! I got them just before my final exams and now I barely take them off. I’m so grateful that you recommend them Edit: also, I adore the Stila Eye makeup!
i checked out one of those forums after you mentioned it a while ago, because i didn't know what it was and i couldn't understand why someone would pick on you. not that ANYONE deserves it but you're not really one of those controversial people that have scandal after scandal. what i saw on that forum was shocking. just so hateful and people were nitpicking and twisting everything into a negative. why would anyone spend time on writing hate essays on someone they don't even know. does it make them feel better? i hope one day they look back on their younger self and feel embarrassed that they bonded with other people through hate and not kindness, that they gained some form of pleasure from hurting other people and that they wasted so much precious time.
Also what are you wearing on your cheeks when you're talking about the stila eye stuff? It looked great and as a fellow pale girl I'm trying to find the perfect warm but not silly looking blush/contour/bronze
This is probably a long shot, but... I want to practice my German listening skills and I love Lucy's chanel. Does anyone know any German speaking channels that do fashion and sustainability along with really chill vlogs? Thank you
maybe i'm missing something, but i genuinely don't understand why you don't just...move home if you miss it? like, aren't you paying rent on two flats at the minute? maybe there's a reason that i missed but yeah i just don't understand. you've mentioned it in almost every vlog but i can't find a video where you explain why you can't go home rn.
It's her boyfriend's flat so she's not paying rent on another flat and she's probably just reducing exposure as otherwise she really couldn't be with her boyfriend without having to travel through London frequently- quite high risk of exposure to covid with that, especially given the mixed instructions from the British government :)
@@AbbeyandMusic And when lockdown started, we knew it would be *atleast* 3 weeks, but no idea how long it would last. I've not had a proper f2f conversation with someone since the 16th March, that was 9 weeks ago, and I'm slowly losing the plot in my flat; so I entirely get why Lucy did go to her boyfriends. If we're really lucky, lockdown might start to be relaxed in Scotland on the 28th May, and I will finally be allowed to have a conversation with someone, as long as it just 1 person, and we stay 2m apart.
Hey! Yeah what the others commenters said - if Jules and I went home now, the “household” would be everyone’s flats with their housemates, some of whom aren’t respecting the lockdown, etc - it would be much higher risk. If I went home now and respected the current rules, which I would plan to, it would mean I couldn’t stay at Jack’s and he couldn’t come to mine for potentially weeks, if not months. So until the guidelines change, I’ll probably be here!
Loving the content as usual, especially at the moment! Does anyone know what her trainers are at roughly 4 mins as ive been looking for a pair like them for ages? :)
Hey Lucy I'm curious why can't you stay in your flat?😊 I would go fuckin nuts if I share a flat with so many people! So respect 👍Have a lovely Sunday ❤
I hope you take this as constructive cristism and not hate but I don't like it when people who aren't experts are giving advice on the coronavirus situation (e.g 2:25), for sure have an opinion but express that as an opinion, not as a fact. Social systems are complex and allowing families to meet will end up with lots more people mixing as opposed to the same few people at work everyday which is just one of the reasons why they, alongside most other countries in the world, are trialling that route first. How do you stop someone going to visit multiple families, and them all visiting further family and so on and so on? If there's something you don't agree with make sure to express that as an opinion and explain why so people watching your channel can make up their own mind.
I love that way you celebrate things in your flat with your flatmates. But I didn't catch it, why do you have to live in another apartment and you can't live in your own and just sometimes visit Jack? Is someone sick with corona in your old flat?
Honestly Lucy, I think you should go back home! I'm not 100% sure of your reasons for not being able to go home. If Jack and his housemates are self isolating and you are too, then there isn't a problem with you going back and forth between places in my opinion! Love the video as always :-)
I think we need to acknowledge that men get a lot of hate too (since you primarily mentioned women) and can take it just as bad as women can. Some men are more sensitive than other men and some men are more sensitive than some women. Men get bullied too and they have self esteem issues as well. So it’s not that only women get hatred and harassment from other people, men are also susceptible and vulnerable to it. they’re human too, they have feelings and emotions too, and men get hurt and torn down too. they’re not just stiff, cold emotionless stone. Also this is coming from a woman.
One of the things I love most about Lucy’s channel is how real it is, and also how calming it is as well. A perfect balance.

The weather's pure shite in Glasgow. I've got my bedlinen in the tumble dryer, and when that's finished, a face mask and hair mask is my next stop!

Keep it up.
also, the bar crawl is the coolest thing ever, I love it
I already adore the style you’ve edited this in! So dreamy
Based on your last video, I got some Sony noise can cling headphones and they are absolutely a life saver! I got them just before my final exams and now I barely take them off. I’m so grateful that you recommend them
Edit: also, I adore the Stila Eye makeup!
Those forums are terrifying. I’m sorry, Lucy. Loved this video! The party was so cute. xxx
YES. THANK YOU YES I LOVE THIS 💖
Can I ask where you got the bunny from 🥺
I truly love your vlogs ! I don't understand why you're loosing followers ? your content is amazing ! ♡
Really enjoyed this video Lucy! 🥰
Grapefruit is the best flavor/scent!
love the dress
Great vlog. I love how real your vlogs are . Your friends are so cute too to the party for your mate birthday. 💛😀
i checked out one of those forums after you mentioned it a while ago, because i didn't know what it was and i couldn't understand why someone would pick on you. not that ANYONE deserves it but you're not really one of those controversial people that have scandal after scandal. what i saw on that forum was shocking. just so hateful and people were nitpicking and twisting everything into a negative. why would anyone spend time on writing hate essays on someone they don't even know. does it make them feel better? i hope one day they look back on their younger self and feel embarrassed that they bonded with other people through hate and not kindness, that they gained some form of pleasure from hurting other people and that they wasted so much precious time.
Lucy watch the last Contrapoints video!! some of it is about this
you have so many house mates! :O
Love the vid 😍😍😍
such a lovely video! :)
Where did you get the nike top from? I love it (love the beige aha)
Also what are you wearing on your cheeks when you're talking about the stila eye stuff? It looked great and as a fellow pale girl I'm trying to find the perfect warm but not silly looking blush/contour/bronze
Your hate online talk was very relevant since the news of Hana Kimura from Terrace House yesterday. It's so upsetting
This is probably a long shot, but...
I want to practice my German listening skills and I love Lucy's chanel.
Does anyone know any German speaking channels that do fashion and sustainability along with really chill vlogs?
Thank you
Tuesday earrings were MINT - where are they from???
maybe i'm missing something, but i genuinely don't understand why you don't just...move home if you miss it? like, aren't you paying rent on two flats at the minute? maybe there's a reason that i missed but yeah i just don't understand. you've mentioned it in almost every vlog but i can't find a video where you explain why you can't go home rn.
queenpasta wondering the same thing..
Could you please link the video about online bullying you talked about? I would like to watch it too.😊 Thank you.
Will link it in the description!
Loving the content as usual, especially at the moment! Does anyone know what her trainers are at roughly 4 mins as ive been looking for a pair like them for ages? :)
Loved the vid! That pub crawl was great. But why are you living at your bf’s house? Did you clarify that in another vlog?
What camera do you use for your vlogs? :)
Megan O'Connor She recently purchased the Canon M50 and is using that now. She talks about the lenses in the last vlog as well!
Like your videos
Hey Lucy I'm curious why can't you stay in your flat?😊
I would go fuckin nuts if I share a flat with so many people!
Why don't make a study with me Lucy ♥️🥀🌸
I love that way you celebrate things in your flat with your flatmates. But I didn't catch it, why do you have to live in another apartment and you can't live in your own and just sometimes visit Jack? Is someone sick with corona in your old flat?
Just trying to abide by the government guidelines, which at the moment say I couldn't be within 2m of jack if I went back to live at home!
