  • What Happens If SEMI-CLOSED Cell Paraglider Collapses? La Mouette Parakite Collapse TEST straight from the BOSS!
    Semi Closed cell technology:
    This transfer from some of Tom’s kite design technology into this glider helps efficiency by improving the Leading Edge airflow and the inside pressure of the canopy. Parasitic movements are reduced, therefore efficiency rises up! The location of the open cells and their dimensions are calculated to not decrease the safety features of the glider.
    The total area of the inlets is reduced by 33% compared to a regular LC glider. This is still more than enough for the canopy to inflate properly, or re-inflate if a collapse occurs. This regulates the inflation speed which at the top of the range makes the rise much less powerful and much more comfortable and safe. On top of all that, we found that it looks really cool too.

    Have you guys tested this wing with a motor yet? Very interested to see how it does under paramotor thrust.

      Nope, it wasn't. It's mainly design for soaring;-)

      We spent a lot of time in the air testing in various location, various conditions... Parakites have one very strong characteristic, they make everything much more easy... easy to fly fast, to fly low, to fly stronger wind, but it doesn't change the physics! What we saw during this development process over 100s of hour flying is that nothing surprising will happen to you...But it's also very easy to cross the line if you get too enthusiastic and forget about reality! At the end of the day, only you as a pilot is the one that can prevent the shit to hit the fan, by being aware of what you are doing, choosing your conditions, adapting your flying... Please check out our website with more info about La Mouette and testing

    Frontal collapse really looks good, but remove the remarks about an EN B rating you don‘t have at 0:54 - especially as your wing collapses so differently than standard wings.

    • @littlecloudparagliders

      At 0:54, the statement being made is simply providing the factual information that wings with a rotation of less than 180 degrees and a pitch of 45 degrees or less are classified as EN B rated. General information to give the idea. If you take a look at our website you will see and understand everything about LittleCloud brand 🙏

    • @bolzn8tor

      100% you should remove the statement about EN-B. Or, add text that says unequivocally: "This wing does not have an EN rating."

    • @kbusse

      @@littlecloudparagliders the test was not done by EN B standards and probably even can‘t be tested this way, so these data are meaningless.

      @@kbusse Maybe you can enlighten us on the EN standards? And why it can't be tested this way?
      Thanks🙂

    • @kbusse

      @@tomb3988 It can't be tested the way because due to the construction the wing does not collapse the way classic wings do, it stays partially inflated. Generally a good thing, but the test procedure ask for waiting the wing to collapse.

      Everything is explained in details on our website 🥳 Collapses shown in this video are just to give the overall idea about the wings reaction/behaviour.
      We spent a lot of time in the air testing in various location, various conditions...
      But remember that at the end of the day - no matter of the wing and rating, only you as a pilot is the one that can prevent the shit to hit the fan, by being aware of what you are doing, choosing your conditions, adapting your flying...

      Donc oui, on peut avoir une mini très chargée qui sort avec un B en fermeture.

    wait.. this seems really dishonest.. all these tests were with classic risers, but you only sell La moutte with parakite risers... so whats the point of this video?
    Misleading...

    • @tomb3988
      @tomb3988 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, maybe to show that semiclosed cell technology isn't affecting the general recovery behavior of a glider uing this feature, just like it's written in the text below the video:
      Semi Closed cell technology:
      This transfer from some of Tom’s kite design technology into this glider helps efficiency by improving the Leading Edge airflow and the inside pressure of the canopy. Parasitic movements are reduced, therefore efficiency rises up! The location of the open cells and their dimensions are calculated to not decrease the safety features of the glider.

      :-)...
      What is misleading or dishonest in that?
      Misleading isn't more to promote the reflex technology as collapseproof? Ie not having then to show any idea of the behavior, even with standard risers;-)
