I love how stephanie doesn’t get disheartened my her mother’s moods or comments even tho I do love her too despite her moods! Stephanie is incredibly accomplished and a delight!

I have just made these bread rolls. Absolutely fantastic. I’m on the ketogenic diet and I was craving ham and mustard sandwiches. I have finally found the right bread to have them.
They have the right texture. A good bread smell and wonderful taste.

However, I don’t think they are carb free as my carb manager app has put them at 4.6g net carb per roll (from recipe and divided into 6 rolls).
Ooh, I’m so glad you liked them! I don’t generally eat gluten-free bread so I was worried, but I love them, especially with melted cheese. I’m seeing David later today, so I’ll speak to him about the carb content!
The Chateau Diaries oh that’s fine. It’s not the end of the world re the carb content as it is within my limits for one roll. I have a carb manager app so I was able to calculate for myself but some people may rely on his statement of carb free. I’m just grateful for some form of bread that I can actually eat and enjoy! Thank you again.

Like others here I, too, love David's buns. They're so....... well you know. He really is a sweet, talented, beautiful, sexy, and handsome. An exceptional man.
I adore this vlog. There is never a dull moment: all thanks to your infectious personality and laughter. We must also give credit to your collective cast from all corners of the world. Chateau La Lande, with all the cast is perfect for a reality series. Although, I must say such a series would ruin the atmosphere you've carefully curated over the years. Producers would interruption the organic flow by creating drama and inserting an outside to complete their idea of the perfect cast. Let's hope everything stays exactly as it is. That said, if you all created your own series, the pitfalls of an outside production would be averted.

Hi Stephanie. Another beautiful, happy vlog. Thank you! I was just wondering, do you use an iPhone to record your vlogs and then some program on a Mac to edit the footage? I would love to do some vlogging for my students (I'm a teacher!).
Hello Sylvia! Yes, I use my iPhone X to record, and I edit with iMovie on my laptop. When I go on holiday, I use a gimble for my phone for steadier shots, but I rarely use it at home because filming is much more spontaneous here. Generally, although I’d love to upgrade in the future, you don’t need expensive equipment, and vlogging is great fun. Good luck!

Chère Stéphanie.... quel plaisir d'avoir découvert ton vlog! La joie d'être maîtresse de ton domaine se transmet par ta voix et ton enthousiasme! Si ce n'était de ce fichu Covid, je sauterais dans le prochain avion pour me rendre à La Lande.....mais si mon coeur le voudrait, la bourse n'y est pas tout à fait.... peut-être un jour prochain. Il se peut que ceci soit ta 64e épisode mais pour moi m'a rappelé des beaux souvenirs de jeunesse avec mes 3 soeurs, dont l'une est violoncelliste. 'Le Cygne' de Saint-Saëns était nôtre dans mes jeunes années - moi au piano et ma soeur aînée au violoncelle. Que de beaux souvenirs tu m'as offert ce soir! Elle habite à 12 heures de vol d'avion et entre La Lande et chez moi - par bateau prendrait plus d'un an car j'habite dans le creux d'une prairie. N'ayant découvert ton vlog que récemment, je visionne au moins 3 par soir après le travail et je me sens transportée dans un monde féérique - possible que la Comtesse de Ségur vienne un jour hanter tes couloirs?

None of my friends (or I) know why I’m not enormous. It’s a mystery! I never exercise and eat mainly bread, cheese and cake. But I think that I have a very ‘French’ approach to food. I never diet when eating with other people. As that’s generally at dinner time, whenever I feel that I’m putting on too much weight, I stop eating breakfast and lunch (I still have wine and whatever I want to eat for dinner), until I’m slimmer again. Also, I rarely snack between meals.

Such fun! I imagine spring and summer at Lalande is a whole different world after the cosy winter months. I'm curious - are there a number of apartments within the Chateau that are for the exclusive use of particular friends? You mention Michael's apartment and I am wondering if that will be self-contained and used as a guest accommodation when he is away? How many rooms in the chateau have been restored at this point? Thank you for sharing the hilarity and beauty of your world. :)
Winter’s are very cold in this house, so the warmth and lighter evenings make a huge difference here! When I talk about Michael’s apartment, I mean Michael Potts. He’s one of the two best friends that I own Lalande with. He’s paying to have an unused attic space turned into a flat, similar to the one my mother has made for herself. They’re the only two people with separate apartments. My other co-owner, Nic, and myself, have rooms in the chateau. Everyone else shifts around as the fancy takes them. Marie’s on her third bedroom so far!

Ooh, I didn’t know about the sale! Now you’ve tempted me and I’m supposed to be being sensible this month 😂 The glasses are great! I need to get more myself, as they don’t have a long shelf life in this house. We always put them in the dishwasher, but it does make them cloudy over time.

No, he’s just a great friend. Because he can work remotely (he’s some sort of computing genius with a phd from Cambridge in geophysics) he often stays and works from Lalande. The kitchen is always a much more delicious place when he’s here!
I love watching the Chateau Diaries, but this one sums up one aspect that is not often alluded to: Mummy being classic tyrant, throwing temper tantrums and going on a warpath as a guest in her daughter's home, and then telling her daughter to "grow up"! Stephanie, kudos to you for taking it on the chin and not telling her the blatant truth... Mummy can be fun, and she has a great sense of humour, but sometimes she takes the role of matriarch too far with her adult daughter, IMHO...

No, we all play our own playlists in turn, so, depending on who’s in the chateau, the mood in the kitchen changes. We’ve recently been through a major ‘80s phase 😊

Speaking of acknowledging Patrons.........Stephanie should be given total credit for handwriting over 350 post card. That's totally insane and she might have to change things up the more Patrons she gets, however I believe she is very gracious and would do something different to acknowledge her Patron and to get even more of them. :-)
She has done over 600 now, so wait and see 🤣😂🤣 as she now has nearly 1500 patrons.
