These two things I was not comfy to do myself, also electrics has to be done by licensed person in order to get approval for connecting electricity to our house. But the rest we did ourselves with my wifey 😋

What exactly was the big hole underneath for...? Thought it would be a cistern or sceptic tank or even a root cellar. But you covered it completely with wood. I know most countries build in wood, but I've always had this sort of terror of falling though a wooden floor that rots.

Зачем использовать пленку внутри, она не пароизоизоляционная, тогда вместо утеплителя можно смело использовать пенопласт, обычный белый, на гранулах, точно дешевле бы вышло и вся неэкологичность осекается пленкой. Что так термос, что эдак. В остальном знатный сарай вышел.
unthinkable in France, a house without a buried foundation, I had never seen this foundation system with this type of Block covered with very little scrap metal and a simple layer of mortar, to replace the foundations! very risky device especially placed on a bottom of gravel form. Really surprising that structural design offices validate this kind of technique. here even a garden shed with better foundations, in each country these methods 🤗, good luck to you
Thank you. Those are FIBO blocks and they can be used for foundation as well. Also we don’t have to get a permit or anything to build such small house here in Estonia. It just has to be 20 sqm big and 5 m height max, that’s all 😀

Size is 20 square meters and a little under 5 meters height. Windows are just plastic windows, we’ve ordered sizes, that we needed. What siding do you mean? The green one is wind barrier. I don’t know how it’s called in english correctly. And the final finish is wooden facade, that we painted.
Yeah. We needed some extra space on the second floor and we had a limit of 5 meters height. So it’s a little gamble on our side. But we have 22mm OSB under it. Hopefully it will survive 😁
Not to be a 'negative nancy' but that foundation concerns me, interesting newer system with the footings and such, but it would worry me of settling, guess time will tell won't it, but other wise, ya done it all yourself, proud construction of your new home... Cheers !
You need proper ventilation and likely dehumidification with that vapor barrier. Otherwise, you don’t want that vapor impermeable barrier on the inside or you’re gonna have humidity and mold problems. I’d recommend a vapor permeable air barrier. Stuff always needs to be able to dry out, and best from both sides
@@Tobinsmith-l9h not about nollucks or bollucks - just building science. Sounds like he has the ventilation which may not eliminate, but should minimize the issues, especially if it’s not a super humid climate.

excellent build! Good work and a lovely result. Encouraging and inspiring for others too :D in some of the shots some of the wood looks a little tinted, but it's perhaps the light. Is any of the wood treated? I'm kinda worried about the roof itself. Perhaps it's not easy to see the shingles from the ground anyway, so you can swap it out for classic rolls of felt oriented normally without compromising the ascetic? May I ask, which country is this? And, how are you planning to use the land long term?
We’re in Estonia. Yes some wood is treated, store did not have untreated version in needed sizes, and I did not want to wait. Roof has been fine so far, but if it will leak I’m ready to cover it with metal. We are still thinking about long term usage of the land. Probably we’ll grow something

I did enjoy "watching!'' the video of the construction of his house, in "fast pace" mode. The music, just made it a bit distracting. But I still liked the construction part, visually 😊
That is a strong house ! He over built it. 😁The only issue i have was the foundation had very tin re-bar and only on the outside perimeter. I'm sure it's fine for his location. The guy obviously knows what he is doing.
Thanks 😁 btw this is special rebar for those blocks. We are using it like that in this part of the world. So it’s proper technique. Also I’ve buried a lot of huge rocks around the foundation so it won’t move anywhere in next couple thousand of years 😂

We have a hatch in the floor to access it. There’s basement with water heater and water pump and all the plumbing.
