Me and my wife sold my apartment in a good suburban area close to the capital of our country and bought old abandoned farm in the middle of nowhere. We've built our first house there, which is out tiny house. And now we are continuing to develop our property and live here.

In order to save money on concrete I'm trying to use old bricks from a wall. That way I've saved 66% of cost on concrete. And after installing door and a window in my man cave it's finally dried in!

А почему ты строил один а не с женой она там не будет жить? Но при разделе имущества заявит на свою половину к которой не приложила и пальца 😂 мужики олени конкретные пошли. В семье всё делают вместе иначе труд другого обесценивается. Учитывая что законы сегодня полностью на стороне их меркантильности. Я много видел где жены помогают своим мужьям в строительстве вот там действительно будуь крепкие семьи они прошли через это вместе и она не воспринимает это как должное да и пройденный путь будет ценнее. Ну а если строил сам то и записывай всё на маму. Я сейчас строюсь второй раз и таким оленем уже не будут как в первый раз. С чем пришла с тем и отвалит, совместные "псеводо" социальные лифты мне стали не интерсны, всем успехов не олените. 🖐️
Shouldn't the metal go under the shingles......do you turn the first run of shingles upside down with that type of shingle I've never seen them before
The metal covers shingles at the ends to prevent water going under them, but at the lowest side it goes under to prevent water going under the metal from the shingles and gives strong edge there. As for the first row turned upside down to get first straight line. Otherwise there will be gaps because of the shingles’ pattern. I hope I’ve described what I mean 😁

Doors hinges shouldn't be on the inside of the house?
Then the door will be opening inside. This is the door, that goes outside. Hinges are in the correct place 😁 but there been a lot of comments on this one.

@@Kotgarmash ok I see. This is the ceiling on the first floor. Since there’s a staircase with big opening in the ceiling, I didn’t think it will do any difference to have vapor barrier there. And it’s so small area anyway.

Really amazing. I hope people appreciate the huge amount of skill and knowledge necessary to do this alone, masonry, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tiling, drywall, roofing, etc., etc. - and to do them well! Very impressive.
Thank you ☺️☺️ I will tell you a little secret: electrics and plumbing were done by professionals. These two things I was not comfy to do myself, also electrics has to be done by licensed person in order to get approval for connecting electricity to our house. But the rest we did ourselves with my wifey 😋

what are the bricks that you started your foundation made of?
These are called FIBO blocks. They have a lot of stuff in it, I believe even including some kind of plastic. They are very light but strong. You can google what are they made to get precise ingredients
