You know you're good when you get Lucy to break character in a comedy sketch.
She is so professional, it hardly ever happens 😀
This is remarkable. Ed Sullivan, Lucille Ball and Flip Wilson all on one stage! Outstanding!
Lucille Ball looked amazing at 60. Forever a classic comedienne. Wish they still made comedy/variety shows like this.
lucille ball was a comic genius same as flip I love lucy lol and yes pun intended lol
That really was one of the best. And Ed Sullivan in that outfit. Crazy!
FUN FACT….when NBC executives watched Flip on The Ed Sullivan Show back in February, 1970, they knew he was a super talent and gave him his own program in the fall of that year….ironically, Sullivan’s long running program was cancelled by CBS at the end of Flip’s first season…but out of respect for Ed, he featured him in the season 2 opener…this episode here
Geraldine Jones became a HUGE phenomenon in the 70's. She was an Icon . This character became LARGER than the genius Flip Wilson himself. Miss the days when the Flip Wilson show would air in real time.
Legend!!! ❤❤❤❤
@@lindalake5433 100%!!
Gosh! I MISS Flip!!!
@@janetflier6192 Me too!!
Wow!!! This is the first time i´ve ever seen Ed Sullivan in something other than a suit. Miss those shows and time period.
ME TOO
Flip was amazing. Lucy was also but what legs for her age, 60 in 1971.
Those legs were stockings!!
60?
I loved Flip and Lucy and Ed. So much fun and proves Sullivan was a fun guy too. If he wasn't, you'd never get him in a pink shirt. lol That was fantastic. Snap "Killah calls me Switchboard, 'cause when I walk, ALL my lines are crossed." lmao
Haha 😅
How Can You Say No To A Chocolate Shake!😂😂😂😂
One of the best shows ever..
Killer call me Switchboard, because he said when I walk all my lines are busy. LOL, LOL
I only discovered -'Geraldine' a few weeks ago and I can't get enough!
And, her outfits are so hot!
Flip Wilson was always one of my favorites!
Nobody could do drag better than Flip. I sure miss that guy.
Yes he was. FLIP was my boy.
❤❤❤❤
Never thought I see the day where the queen of comedy Lucy is playing the straight woman in a comedy sketch ! lol
That was Steve Allen and his wife in the audience that Flip sat on his lap.
Steve Allen was hilarious, too.
Always enjoyed watching The Flip Wilson Show and The Ed Sullivan Show ! Flip wilson was funny as Geraldine ! She made me crack up watching her him !
And there was no cussing. He and Sinbad are great.
This still makes me smile. What an introduction dance by Geraldine. LB, FW and ES were simply wonderful!
RIP LEGENDS 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
2021
I love Lucy too !
"You bring the toast, and I'll bring the jam and jelly" Talk about innunado!!!
This was the way drag was meant to be
It was and in some ways still is. Humour has changed over the years. The celebrity roasts are way too much now. Mean sprited and not fun anymore. Drag shows in clubs were not well known. This was for a family audience. Now, after a certain hour, anything goes. Kids stay up past when they were allowed to back in the day too. There was a good reason for putting kids to bed at a "decent" hour. We just didn't know it. Family time ended by 9pm.
It technically still is, just more advanced.
I would love to see again the sketch with Geraldine as a Playboy Bunny that has Bing Crosby as the customer at her table. It was SO funny!

It's on TH-cam. That's how I got to this one by watching it first. It is Hella funny.
My grandma lived for the FW Show...still can hear her laugh at Flip...
If she were alive today she would be 133 years old. Thanks Flip for the
memories!! RIP
Oh my stars, I don't remember that. Ed Sullivan sure had trouble keeping a straight face, and at even there was that 1 moment when Flip Wilson gave Ed Sullivan a strange look maybe because Ed accidentally touched him where he wasn't supposed to on Flip?
Lucille Ball, the former Ziegfeld Follies showgirl, sure did keep her figure well maintained. And, as always, the Queen of Comedy she was hands down.
I've got to share this now with my slightly younger brother and his wife because this will make their Holiday Season much happier.
Thanks so much for sharing this with others to enjoy. ✌️♥️
Geraldine would’ve been great on sitcom with Lucy !!
Thanks for Sharing
I Love this 💖💖💖🥰
When Geraldine came out and sat on the man's lap, I notice that Dinah Shore is sitting right next to the man!
this is TOO funny... ed sullivan.. hysterical
Ed Sullivan cracking up LOL.
I see three legends WOW!! 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Ed he looks funny without a three piece suit, and Luck couldn't hold it long enough, she breaks.
Ed sullivan toast of the town
Classic
Genuine humor vs vulgarity.
I really miss Flip !!
Super burger $.37, but how can anyone stop smiling when Geraldine is working it.
Omg lol 😂😂😂
Ahh Flip Wilson
No one can do Geraldine better.
Lucille Ball was an icon, mentor, and social/ civil activist without saying it. Recommend her films, her 1964 best-selling autobiography LOVE, LUCY, and the TCM podcast : The Plot Thickens, LUCY, which is free. Recommended it, if anyone is interested.
i love lucy
Was that Dinah shore sitting next to the man flip sat down on.
