- hello everybuddy! a lot has changed since my first video, vroid has become a whole new program and has become much more accessible then its first iteration so i felt it was a good time to release a new beginners video to show how i work!
support the music!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, getting a decent looking model for me was such a daunting task, but I didn't want to have someone else do my first model because I wanted to both understand the process, and use some of those art skills I have been neglecting for the last 15 years. I now look forward to some really fun hyper focused activities doing things with my model, especially since I put it off for a year.
Thank you for this tutorial! I feel inspired! I completed my first vrchat avatar but hated how vroidy the textures & facial features were. Didn’t realize how detailed you can get with it! I’m gonna start a new one from scratch & take my time like you! Thank you for the inspiration!’
This must have been uploaded just a few hours after I stopped researching how to do cell shading. Two days later and here it is! Easily the best explanation I have come across.
Okay, thank you. I always wondered how people make the 2d looking avatars with cel shading, and thank you for this tutorial.
You posted this right when I was looking for it!
Thank you soso much!!
Thanks a lot, i've been learining vroid for a few months now and this tutorial just fell from heavens!
Tysm for this tutorial! this helped me so much with my model building skills and it was very easy to follow along to, im looking forward to future content!
you are totally underrated and help so much! you also really inspire me! looking forward to more content!
YOU have helped me more then you could ever know. I appriciate you.
THIS IS SO USEFUL! I've been trying to figure out how hair textures work for a while and why the heck they look so wonky and not unified! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, it gives me ideas on how to improve my existing model, which isn't bad but I think some cell shading would improve it!
I'm no artist so I really appreciate artists showing how to customize and design things ♥
thanks to you I was able to improve my vroid model and now it looks great
wah thank you for this tutorial! it really helped me with understanding more about vroid studio
I just went to your channel and I want to say that your avatar is ADORABLE!! 🥺💗
Oh, yes. Tutorial also was very useful for me. Thank you sm!
THIS IS SO FREAKING HELPFUL!!!
this is exactly what i needed! thank you !
Absolutely amazing work, very talented, and a very useful tutorial thank you for making this.
On god the simplest tutorial I’ve ever seen 🙌🙌🙌 THANK YOU
Excellent tutorial! I would maybe recommend turning down the background music, it was a bit too loud and distracted from your voice. Otherwise looking forward to more!
Yeah! Sorry about that, I'll work on fixing that on later videos
@@buwakuda sound mixing is always a pain so it's understandable
@@buwakuda I loved the music
HELLOOO I SAW UR REDDIT POST IM GLAD I FOUND THE VIDEO
amazing tutorial, looking foward to more videos
is was a great help. thank you 😊
Thank you very much, helped me a lot!
yo!! this really helped me!
Honestly this is very good! I love cell shading, but honestly I don't like dealing with materials in unity and stuff
I am just getting into these. I keep making models with washed out faces with absolutely no textures whatsoever. I keep forgetting this isn't Graffiti Kingdom, and there is no color limit. This is some brilliant software for what just looks like a characters creation screen from a video game.
helped me a lot! thx
Thank you. Super cute model btw
literally gonna use this tutorial when i wake up tomorrow, thank you! would love a tutorial on hair next ❤ edit:I ONLY GOT HALFWAY THROUGH THE VID THANK U FOR HAIR LOL
Thes suit magicl nice fom transfom.
I love this!! youve already got a sub from me! also i love your outfit!! >.< could you perhaps make a tutorial for making clothes too?
1: you're so cute
2: you are so awesome at VRoid
3: thank you so much for all the videos : 3
I love ur avatarrrrr
Great tutorial! I can't wait to follow it on my current model; I think a lot of improvements can be made. Do you have any plans to cover cell shading for clothes? That's an area I really struggle with. I either make things too flat or I have to go outside of a cell-shaded style to get more depth.
I’m gonna go try this out in a moment on a magical girl vroid
FOUND YOU
TY
This is soo much easier than editing normals in blender
i love your tutorial . and you so cute love it
This looks amazing, do you do commissions by any chance?
(Cuz i really like your model too, I probably would go fine with making face and such but im not good with clothes...)
At least here it is.
thank youu !! in german we would say ich küss dein herz
The fact that you did this in like, 30 or so minutes is crazy! It looks beautiful! Now I want to make one, but I have a terrible computer, lol.
I give respect to thoes who can draw clean lines in VRoid Studio because I cant even
thats amazing Thank u and btw what music did u played in the BG or how do i search for it /(names)
nocti.bandcamp.com/album/lazuli-dracaenas-bgm-collection-vol-1 nocti has made their music free to use ^^
Is this for me?
I wonder how this will translate for making game characters? I've gotta try it out.
This looks so good! Would you mind sharing what motion capture program you're using? Im looking for one and your character's movements look so nice! I cant wait to see more from you~
Vseeface! I mess with the settings a lot though. I keep my hips stuck and make sure its set to fluid but not a lot of movement! It keeps it in place and easy to track
Awesome thank you so much! Keep up your amazing work~
Thank you for the tutorial!! What do you use for 3D tracking? It's very very clean
Vseeface! Specifically I turn off "hybrid lip sync/mouth tracking" in the settings. It makes the mouth movement much smoother since its only tracking your voice and not your lips.
@@buwakuda Thank you so much!! I tested it and you are sooo right!
How do you make the hair have an outline?
How do we make hair two different colors?
First of all i love your oc, sadly the background music is too loud but Nice tuto
Are you voice acting? Nonetheless your voice sounds so cool! :)
I unfortunately have a very nasally voice so this made me laugh aha!! Thank you!
hii i wanna ask, what face tracker you used to make your character move?
Vseeface!
@@buwakuda okeiii thankyou so much!✨
So preppy..!
4:48
What did you use to facetrack your vtuber?
Vseeface!
The only thing I dislike is the facepaint layer for my hair shadow goes down with my eyes when I blink I wish it'd stay in place!
Yes! I found a different way to do this which I'll be making into a video very soon!!!
@@buwakuda I can’t wait then 😄
did you make your own vtuber model for the character you're using?
I did! Made it in vroid. I later put it up for sale on booth because I no longer use it.
@@buwakuda it's really cute! Are you planning to post more tutorials here? because i'm learning how to use vroid studio and your videos are really easy to follow ❤
When i import my model from vroid to vrchat the eyes move everywhere do you know how to fix that ?
I unfortunately have no clue! I don't dabble in vrchat but I would recommend trying to ask the vroid or vrchat subreddits? They'd be much more knowledgeable then me!
are you also using 3d on this one?
Yes
can we animate this in blender?
There are a few tutorials on youtube that will give you an answer on that and how to do it! From my understanding, it is not only possible but encouraged.
@@buwakuda thanks for answering
How did TH-cam not flag this? 1:59
17:28 wtf....
i just started the tutorial rn but goddamn the light mode is HURTING.
Please switch to dark mode next time :(
Like content but the music track is way too loud and distracting. Tried watching this twice and I just can’t get very far in, because of irritating music. Please don’t let your choice of music distract from your content. You have something to say, let it be heard.
your model is so cute and your style you do models in is so neat :-) do you have a twitter or other social media?
I have a Twitter where I post my models and art! twitter.com/buwakuda?t=eFpkpcBCLH9uHKN0cV_vyQ&s=09
