VRoid Tutorial: Better Models & Textures With The VRoidXYTool

- The VRoidXYTool is an unofficial plugin for VRoid Studio that adds new functionality to improve the editing process for your models and textures! My favorite feature is the texture link function which allows you to update your textures in an external editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint or Microsoft Paint (No judgements!). Remember if you need the config file information just copy and paste it from the Pastebin link, below!

Great video! Sadly, the plugin is currently only compatible with version 1.26.0 (which you can download from the official website from past versions), might want to add that to the pinned comments/title/description.
This is so useful, ive always struggled trying to edit textures when I kept having to import them but now with this its a lot easier. Thank you :)
I did EXACTLY what you did and I only have the core file and the plugins file you said to create.. nothing else what do I do?

@@xCrossBiteI'm confused. When you hit save, do you not get a pop-up asking what you want to name your new Photoshop document? I'm trying this with Gimp him That's what's happening to me, I'm assuming that if I save it as a Photoshop document or whatever it is that Gimp uses, it's not going to play the changes instantly upon hitting save.

I'm glad I came across this as it's pretty helpful, funny enough I found it right after finding another video on how to get this plugin setup by installing a plugin(with some other files) called Vroid Chinese. It seemed pretty easy but wasn't sure plus I already followed instructions for this video so I wasn't interested in trying again to test it out.

would this process be any different for the windows version of VRoid studio and not the steam version?

Trying this out for SillyTavern. When I open Vroid after moving files. It does not create folder structure. I have reinstalled a couple of times.
Hi could you help me? I followed your video and I got the tool to work but when I booted the app again the next day the tool won't appear. Its not hidden by tab or anything its just not there, I have all the the files, I should have... I don't get it.

the plugin doesnt work :( i don't know what i'm doing wrong
for some reason, the config files do not show up on my BepInX folder. any solution? im using vroid version 1.22.0
I'm not sure why the would not appear but I have an unusual fix. The VRoid Chinese plugin also uses these same folders and includes the configs. You can copy and paste them in from that plugin but I recommend you delete the "VRoidChinese.dll" file if you can't read Chinese. I hope that helps!

support stopped after the update to VRoid and the dev said there probably wont be any updates RIP to the most useful tool😢🙏🏼
The plugin dev said they would try to remake the plugin so it works with Vroid Studio version 1.26.1 onwards, BUT also said it's possible they might stop updating XY Tool completely. We don't know for certain yet if they're going to continue updating the plugin or not. In the meantime, you can use the standalone edition of Vroid Studio 1.26.0 since XY tool is compatible with that version.
Thank you to both of you for posting, I recently launched Vroid [having it through steam for auto-updates] and suddenly the plug in wasn't working. I even reinstalled thinking something was wrong on my end. Thankfully I found your comments
Ever since the recent update the tool plugin doesn't work, I followed the video before and tried it again after the update. Do you have a fix to bring it back?
check the Vroid announcement & updates comments section, many people with the same issue has been brought up.
Unfortunately I only just saw this plugin and it's already been depreciated.
Apparently DOES NOT work for VRoid Studio 1.19. Thankfully, I have an older version... 1.15 (hopefully this will work) Otherwise, I am following your instructions to the letter and getting nothing. Trying in the older version of VRStudio.....NOTHING! No extra files after launch/shutdown/relaunch.
Hello! Unfortunately, it does appear that the recent updates have prevented this from working. I am not yet sure if there's a way to get it in the latest versions but I'll put out an update if so!

Wait... what is the extra coding for? You didn't explain. I've never seen anyone mention the extra code before. I know what the interval does though.
The configurations are for the related functions in the plugin: textures, camera, etc.
it stopped appearing after a new update. how do i fix this?
Edit, i got it to work again after downgrading vroid. It should still work at 1.26.0

I tried yours and moebuns guide and the vroidxytool still doesn't show in vroid =/
Same problem. There's also no XYTool file in the config folder, even after a few restarts.
@@SenorRu I tried opening today and suddenly it's working, maybe you need to restart your pc.
config does not show up after following all the steps given. it just does not create it

@@Tartkatt Yea I gave up on steam version, undownloaded both my pcwindows version AND steam version and just redled the pc version n then it worked. Thank you tho and Im glad yours is working as well! =^.*=
