- Hello folks,
today we restore a very old and rusty water pump pliers. In this video we try many new things like sandblasting and painting. Unfortunately, the rust destroyed too much, but we made the best of the tool. The pliers we have received from Uncle Otto. From him we always get old rusty tools to restore - THANK YOU uncle Otto. At this point we would also like to greet the entire Warhammer community: RED IS FASTER 😉

Great work. I was thinking for a bit, "Oh, don't tell me he is going to put that washer on there." Looked great in the end.
Thank you😁
Ooooh, I like that teaser for other project in the end!
Thank you!😊
A belt sander works good to get down under the pits. You may like that method better but turned out great. You put them back into service.
Yes, in near future we are going to buy a belt sander.Greetings✌
Nice job! The rust pits won’t affect function at all. 👍
Thank you-one of our first projects 🤙
This is more than restoration, you improved the fit and function to be better than new.
Thank you!😀😊

Okay
I worked in a machine shop; I was running my file back and forth just the way you are in this video when an older guy stopped me. He told me, files only work in the forward direction. You ruin the cutting teeth when you go backwards with them.
Nice restoration!
Thank you, will check it
Those files definitely only work in one direction. They are not sandpaper
Yup- learned that very same thing in shop class.
I think that now look's better than new. Nice job! 🤜🤛
Highly underrated channel. Keep up the great videos!

Gute Teng Teng 👌
I enjoyed the video. I have no issue with an older tool after restoration having a few pits, adds to the character and it looks like it will see a long future.
i guess Im kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to watch newly released series online ?

wenn der Rost sich schon so tief eingefressen hat, warum dann nicht mit Hammerite lackieren, dann fällt es nicht so auf
Das ist eine gute Idee!Viele Grüsse

Jup das ist so😁
As good as you can do with Shet , and thanks for not using bondo for aesthetically pleasing weirdos out here. For ur effort there great 👍🏼
Thank you so much😄
What's wrong with bondo?
Yea it’s pitted but hay, you got in a pinch 🤏 tool.
How many hours does a tool restoration take from start to finish?
It depends on the cpmplexity of the project.10-40hrs just in the workshop, same time for cutting scens and stuff like that.greetings from Germany
Glad you cut off an existing bolt instead of having a CNC machines - I want to start restoring stuff and get annoyed that it seems like you need thousands of pounds worth of equipment 😂
Great restoration 👍🏻 What model is your Bosch bench grinder?
Hey, it is the 350 one mod name is Bosch GBG 35-15
works very weel, enough with230V
@@thisisrestoration1983 Thanks have been looking for a new bench grinder, yours looks perfect for my use. Looking forward seeing future videos from you. Sincerely TJ from Norway
It's never a good idea to paint parts that slide against each other, like the slip joint in those channel lock (pipe) pliers. Other than that, it was a good restoration. Watching from New York USA! 🇺🇲👍
Thank you for your Feedback!Greetings from Germany✌
You can soak over night in evap o rust safe on hands. Or get a laser zap it.
I have some tools that could use your help...
For example?
An old micrometer
you have to be careful grinding it that way, on the side of the wheel. It could explode, I wouldn't tempt fate.
WD40 is NOT a lubricant
Ok thanks! Sorry for wrong vocabulary 😅
Next time weld up a layer on the rusted spots and sand it down and you will have no rust damage.
Okay- will try it next time
A crappy tool you've spent hours on without improving the performance.
Yes but it was lot of fun🤪
most idiotic restoration ever
