    Education does not mean certificate, any education that does not guaranty competency at something is not worth it, young people should concentrate acquiring useful skills that will enable them offer services without being in a paid employment

      You can say that again. The educational systems in countries like Japan, Germany & China is geared towards producing skilled workers. From artisans to technicians to engineers. Most of CEO of Fortune 500 companies in America are engineers. In Africa our outdated systems still produces desk jockeys & pen pushers lookin for civil service jobs. Not a winning strategy.

    just understand as the gentleman said, more role models, the role model most of our young ones can see are the politicians and the artist, musical or drama artist, MOre also information is key, you don't know what you don't know. the educational system only prepare you for the job market, never independent or how you can sustain yours, not just Nigeria this is all over the world at large, it's only worse in our environment just because of lack of some social amenities, not everyone will venture into real estate business but some business can not sustain without electricity which is number one thing that makes Nigeria not a good choice for most investors.

    Stephen Akintayo is the Robert Kiyosaki of Africa but he needs to thread gently with the dangerous rate at which he is moving. Aye le o. A word is enough for the wise. When you seek to make money using every avenue here in Nigeria, you are seen as a threat by desperate competitors. Stay safe brother. May God be with you. The lady besides him, Ayodotun Akinfenwa, seems to be holding back information for fear of competition. What is she doing on the show then?

    AND I TOLD MYSELF WHY WILL I WASTE OVER 5MILLION WITHOUT GETTING SOMETHING BACK IN RETURN EXCEPT A PAPER CALLED CERTIFICATE.
    I VENTURED INTO BUSINESS BUT I MUST TELL YOU IT WAS NOT EASY BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF MY JOB.
    I ATTENDED SO MANY BUSINESS MEETINGS IN MAIDUGURI ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND. I ALWAYS MOVE FROM BAUCHI AT 6PM LOAD MY ATMS FOR WEEKEND AND SLEEP OVER IN YOBE AND MOVE THE FOLLOWING DAY TO MAIDUGURI. MOST OF THE MEETING DO LAST FOR 45 MINUTES MAXIMUM.
    BUT THE STORY DON CHANGE NOW.
    GOD IS FAITHFUL.

    Please never underlay the importance of going to tertiary institutions. Yes, we need to create vocational to spice the university educations up.

    • @emmyraldx
      @emmyraldx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tertiary education is good but it’s never a determinant for success and productivity on many levels. Nigeria project needs to start to see value in diverse industries’ tailored training, to quickly scale up true industrialisation.
      Was there any synergy between our universities and industries to tailor trainings to industries’ needs on the large scale? No. Computer science lecturers can’t write a line of Python or Java code, and they want to train students to compete in Tech world. How? Think again.

    • @Abillsable
      @Abillsable 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@emmyraldx If I may say, there are two places where productivity is being inculcated: home and school. Success shouldn't be the discussion here, everyone seems to be obsessed with success not value creation. Our tertiary institutions are supposed to be the factory for productive individuals but what do we have , a system that churns out people that can't compete globally except they go the extra miles. Your productivity is a function of your personal discipline, Nigerians disciplined? Are we raising disciplined youths nowadays? These are the questions we should be asking. If your parents raised you well and you chose the path of tailoring or other artisan craft, you will, needless to say, do well. But a useless and lazy person will always be themselves.

    • @emmyraldx
      @emmyraldx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Abillsable Firstly, success definition in Nigeria seems to be different from everywhere else. With my programming mind, success is a variable that has “value creation” as one of its numerous properties. And most certainly, grooming someone to be successful and productive in that regard go beyond just “home and school “.
      I’m not sure but I think you might have got the word “tailor” wrong. I meant “to customise”.
      No doubt, I value education at all levels (After all, I’m an academician myself) but there’s desperate needs to also put attention to industries’ specific trainings against outdated and “now irrelevant” trainings being offered by our Nigerian universities.
      I sit on the board that continually review and update curriculums for universities and apprenticeships programmes right here in the UK to ensure programmes being offered are tailored and specific to industrialisation. We all can put our heads together, there’s a long way to go.

    • @amarasesay7166
      @amarasesay7166 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@emmyraldx It's not always linear. We can have the best of this and the best of that. Theories give meaning and direction to practice. It's not the codes (alone) that solve the problem, it's the mindset put into the algorithms and data structures. And we have heard too little too much of these CS lecturers not being able to write in modern languages, please stop assessing fishes by their ability to fly.

    • @emmyraldx
      @emmyraldx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@amarasesay7166 if you would read my post again, it would be obvious to you that all I was saying is mixture of traditional learning with modern ones. In my third paragraph, I did mention the word ‘ALSO’.
      No where I insinuated the solution would come from codes. I simply used coding process to define success. I think you should probably look for someone else you could ‘re-term’ their submissions.

    This is a great interview session gone bad.
    1st: Good choice of guests
    2nd: Wrong number if hosts... The hosts should not outnumber guests on ANY SHOW!
    Next: the host rattles (my bad) TOO MUCH. She won't let the guest spill.
    Like the male guest said a training is key! Am not sure the hosts are trained in the art of interview. An interviewer doesn't make conclusions on a show....... I could just go on, but you guys ruined what would have been an imoactful show.

      I feel the session was impactful. It wasn't meant to be a serious or formal interview. Rather, it was designed to be a chit-chat interview. Blended. Their questions were spot on. And answers from the guests were simple to understand and build on. I'd agree as regards the ratio of hosts to guests but then...the session wasn't bad in my opinion sir.
