Sonny! I traveled to the Philippines this summer with my girlfriend and her family and we saw you at the Tondo street food market that night. I couldn’t believe that it was you halfway around the world but the red bandana gave it away. We didn’t get to stop you for a picture but it was great to see someone I’ve watched for so long in-person. Keep up the good videos !
My gf is Filipino and her mom is from the Philippines. And I have to say when we started dating it opened my eyes to a whole new culinary world and I also learned don’t judge just try. I love the flavors and creativity. Also being American I can see being hesitant with some dishes. But they use most of animals because a lot of people don’t have much. And it’s respect when you can turn most people’s “unwanted ingredients” into a delicious dish. Anyone can cook beef or chicken breast.
nahh!!! if that happens a lot , I bet more of us will be leaving this channel , you mean a vlog type , like the one he vlog welcome to my guys type , nahhh passss
I'm glad you showcased our Authentic filipino street foods. I'm so tired of watching vloggers eat Jollibee. Good job on the taste test, on point. Love your videos.
Welcome back Sonny! you may not be interested but your Japan episodes with miss Shizuka couple of years ago inspired my daughter (who is a half Japanese) to pursue and finally acquire her Japanese citizenship. Now she is living in Japan. Thank you for your wonderful videos! 😊
Tocino and longganisa is famous to the Filipino people and it's my favorite that you might not know about! Adobo, sinigang, you've probably heard. And yes, we have vegetables in a lot of our dishes: bokchoy, potatoes, there's a lot, and I eat them all, even bittermelon, all thanks to Lola! 🤤 But dinuguan (chocolate meat) with jalapenos turned out to be another fav, even after I found out it was pigs blood. They told me it was chocolate meat 🥲🤷♂
When people say “po” at the end of their sentence it’s to my understanding like a respect thing. You say it to someone older or someone you show respect to. Like “enjoy your food, po” if that makes sense ✌️❤️
Yes, it's a sign of respect. Much more so for someone older than you. A lot of Asian countries have that kind of honorific way of speaking depending on who you're talking to.
Exactly, we filipinos say "po" to show respect to every person we want to respect especially if they are an important person 😅, we also often use this to elderly people and even our parents, brothers, and sisters.
I remember the late great chef Anthony Bourdaine's reaction when he first ate sisig. He was impressed and said it should become known to the world so that they can also experience the flavors just as he did. Thank you Mr. Sonny for letting the world know of these dishes. 😌👍🏻

The guy who offered the crabs missed the opportunity because of the language barrier. Just an FYI, "Gay Crabs" are quoted because they have a weird abdomen shape.
