Wow y’all I truly cannot believe this has been watched by so many people. We did this production when were 19 years old so it’s wild to see that it’s still alive out there. I came here for a nostalgia trip (I played Claire) and I’m so moved by all of the kind comments!! This show was so special to us and it means the world to hear that it had an impact on people. Also... just for the record... all of us know that replacing Let Things Go with Cancelling the Party was a very very terrible decision. I am SO embarrassed lolol. Again, we were 19 years old soooo needless to say, we did not have the best decision-making skills :~) But really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for the kindness and love. I’ll pass it on to everybody :)
For those of you who don't know, the song that is sung by Claire at 1:10:38 (called I'll Be Here) has an absolute heart-wrenching story behind it: Claire met John outside of Gristedes (which is a supermarket) in winter, he accidentally drops his groceries so Claire helps him pick them up. John notices how pretty Claire is and asks her to meet him the next day, and she does. After dating for around 8-9 months John proposes with the promise that he will always be with her. On their first anniversary, they both take the day off work, but John has to stop by his office in the morning and so Claire goes to a bakery. This is when the very tragic 9/11 occurs, and John killed in the event. When Claire hears the news of the event, she was in denial and raced home to see if John was there, only to find that he called home, knowing she wasn't there, to tell her that he loves her and that it's okay for her to move on without him, because he will always be with her. Time moves on past, and Claire is now dating Jason. When its time for Jason to move in Claire is hesitant because she is still mourning John. Jason convinces Claire to let him move in and when they start clearing things out, Claire doesn't want to get rid of certain items that Jason sees as junk. Move forward in time again, and Jason and Claire are happily together. All of a sudden, Jason proposes and Claire runs away for days, afraid that marrying Jason would make her forget John. Then just as Jason is about to give up on Claire, they are both found in the middle of the city with "storm cloud of papers" falling down from the sky (by Deb and Warren). This immediately reminds Claire of the smoke from 9/11 and she, once again, remembers John and all the sadness she feels around his death. Claire then calls Jason and decides to tell him about John. They meet in a restaurant, and before Claire even sits down she starts telling the story of John (this is where the song happens). During the song, Claire realizes that she does want to marry Jason, so she says yes and immediately hears John's voice in her head, telling her that he's proud and happy for her. Claire has finally accepted John's death and is ready to listen to his final words and move on with Jason.
i had actually heard this song somewhere else, and found out it was from this musical, and THEN that its the second last song. i absoloutly ADORE that song and couldnt wait to listen to it again, but i did, and it was wonderful.
Wow, thank you. Not native, so had some problems with the songs at times, so I'm sure I missed some details. So I'm even more grateful for this description as it helped me understand Claire (and Jason) way better.
Honestly, out of ALL the big hit musicals I know;Hamilton,DEH,BMC,Heathers,Mamma Mia,Grease,Waitress,The Greatest Showman,Carrie,Mean Girls,Les Mis, Etc,This small production, WHICH NEEDS SO MUCH MORE CREDIT MAY I ADD, is certainly one of most FAVOURITES!!!!!! This is one of my most favorite musicals of all time and this rendition was absolutely breathtaking. Warren was phenomenal (especially in the finale) and voices blended so well. Truly amazing. It’s so hard to do a whole show with only 5 people and the acting and singing were strong the entire show. Great job!
I finally searched for this musical because of a TikTok referencing the now old TikTok sound taken from “Big Picture” and I’m so glad I did. Years ago now I had heard or maybe watched an animatic for “I’ll Be Here” and I was so surprised to hear it again I cried just like the first time. So, my girlfriend found "I'll Be Here" and shared it with me and this is not at all what I thought the show was going to be about. Still fabulous and well done, but definitely wasn't what I expected.
I believe she played Dawn in the national tour of Waitress. I was so excited for Waitress to finally come to Australia but corona caused it to be indefinitely postponed 😔
I watched it on a whim after hearing a few seconds of a song in a meme video. I'm not native, so there were parts where I couldn't understand the exact details first (so I repeated those parts lol), but it was definitely worth the time. At times, I had the urge to clap with the audience, tho refrained at the end to not look like an idiot applauding in front of a laptop... :D
Ngl, Jason not going up on the high beltier parts in Hundred Story City was pretty disappointing, especially since the song was already lowered a whole step.
For some reason they put "Canceling the Party" in it's place which was originally written but cut from the show and doesn't make any sense in that moment. It's a strange substitution.
8Kuula Küsimus ebajumalatele ohverdatud lihast 1 Ebajumalatele ohverdatud liha kohta te ütlete: „Me teame, et meil kõigil on tunnetus.”

Ordinary Days - Don't Wanna Be Here Lyrics DEB I grew up in like, the middle of nowhere And I swore I would never go back. My hometown was like the suburb of a suburb I actually lived on a cul-de-sac. That’s literally a road that goes nowhere. That’s the definition of dead end. I said, “I can’t wait to learn to do a three-point-turn” Because I don’t wanna be here. In four long years, I finished up with high school. Graduated top of my class. Thank you! But in college I discovered that devising my own major Was a bureaucratic pain in the ass. I thought I’d recontextualize Sartre But could only register for first-year French. Ha! Well, you should’ve heard my mom when I dropped the bomb And said, “I don’t wanna be here No, I don’t wanna be here.” Now, I am not a negative person It’s just that I’ve always known that I had places to go Dreams to fulfill and ideas to discover They’re just never where I am. So anyway, back at school I waited five semesters Till I could snag one of their random degrees I moved down south, ‘cause I heard everyone was hiring And they were. At the Applebee’s. They fired me, like, three weeks later. My sublet promptly, whoops, fell through. As I checked into a hotel, I said, “It’s just as well. Because I don’t wanna be here. No, I don’t wanna be here.” And I, I was not a negative person So I packed up my bags, though I had no place to go I opened a map and said, “Show me my future. ‘Cause it isn’t where I am.” I finally got a job at some hum-drum office Like everyone right out of school does I sat there at my cubicle every day Sending faxes, and that’s what my life was Oh, I went back home and said to my parents, “I know what I’ve got to do.” And since I am a dork I moved to New York And I started grad school. I really don’t wanna be here.
Ordinary Days - The Space Between Lyrics JASON There were fourteen blocks between her place and mine I walked those blocks every single day I started feeling with each passing sign That she was living too far away I got to her place and said, “We’ve been together a year. Wouldn’t it be genius if I lived, well, right here.” I got one of her priceless stares, but said, “Honey, haven’t you noticed there’s All this space between Where I leave my house and I see your face. All this space between When I buzzed your door and then we embrace.” I must’ve flashed my sexy grin ‘Cause next thing you know I am moving in with her Yeah, this is her apartment. And yeah, it’s filled with all her stuff. But setting up and squeezing in, that’s my department So if I move her favorite chair, I can get my desk in there Slide her sofa to the right so we won’t stub our toes at night Merge our two apartments into one And we’ll feel like we’ve begun Oh! So I rip the tape off this cardboard box And lay my claim on a dresser drawer I say goodbye to those fourteen blocks Now just imagine what lies in store The city’d gotten me down But that’s ‘cause I should’ve known You really don’t want to do New York alone The best thing I ever did Might be saying, “Screw it!” and getting rid of the Space between Me and the girl I can’t get out of my head All the space between The moment we’re in and what’s lying ahead I’ve been waiting for something here But now I’m rushing toward the future and I’m leaping clear Of the space between.
Ordinary Days - Let Things Go Lyrics CLAIRE How does this happen? All your life You think the space you’ve got is not enough. But then you open your closet door and think, “My life must be more than the sum of this stuff.” Something moves you from within. Like, say, your boyfriend moving in. And that’s how you begin to let things go. You look up at that shelf and you tell yourself to let things go. And next thing you know….. You are standing amidst your whole entire history And you’re strewing it across the floor. You’ve got out-of-date planners and dog-eared postcards And think, “What in God’s name was I keeping these for?” Packed in boxes just in case But now I really need the space So I’m gonna clean this place and let things go. I’m determined to clear out some room in here and let things go. I’m letting it go All of these years and years of junk and flotsam Plastic souvenirs, why, look, I’ve got some. Birthday cards, a pamphlet on Van Gough I should’ve done this years ago. But somehow I’ve been petrified To see what’s been kept inside these chests and drawers It’s so very strange finding stuff from a lifetime ago Even when the life you find is yours. ‘Cause there are things that make you feel That you need this proof your past was real. And you can’t let them go So back into boxes they go Oh How does this happen? You tear up your apartment just to put it back together again Jason will be fine We’ll get creative with our space so that all of our things fit together and then My whole life can stay in there Well, he’s got to put his shoes somewhere Ugh! Why can’t I be some other Claire Who can just let things go? I mean, I said I would try and I did But I can’t let things go You know Martha Stewart, I’m not her I’m gonna let things go back where they were.
5 Ordinary Days - Dear Professor Thompson (Part 1) Lyrics Here's my room at school, right? Where I keep tucked away Virginia Wolf and me, this is where we stay Modern Lit is dense, right? But everything's okay I'm working on my thesis everyday Now since my laptops verging on collapse I keep long hand notes and xerox scraps in a handbound book That drips with old school flair But this unique approach can be a drag When you keep the whole thing in your bag And suddenly the goddamn things not there It's not there It's not there It's not there It's not there It's not there It's not there It's not there Dear professor thompson, this is deb, you're my advisor I am writing you to ask a little favor Question I know when we first met you made it very, Very clear that under no circumstances be they medical emotion, No formilal or chronic Could we ever ever turn in something late But dear professor thompson, i've a little situation And i'm hoping you will show a little mercy on me And grant me an extension on the first step of my thesis Yours Thanks in advance Hugs (says) shit
Ordinary Days - Life Story Lyrics WARREN This is a photograph I found on the street, Oh, a year ago. A wrinkled old photograph of a guy and a girl on the beach. He’s got her hand in his hand and all seems well. I think they’re both smiling, it’s hard to tell. There’s a crease and a tear masking secrets of their life story. This is an unopened Valentine I found one September. I left it unopened, afraid it would lose its mystique. See, there’s a heart on the front drawn in faded ink. You can’t read the name, but it made me think. Are these people aware they’ve lost pieces of their life story? I was walking tonight like I usually walk Through those benches outside Union Square When all of a sudden I tripped over something And look, it was this little book This book is different from most things I’ve found for one reason. Yes, it looks old. But there’s proof someone dropped this today. You’ll notice the cover is missing, the font antique. The pages are yellowed, but what’s unique Are the notes in the margins in ballpoint, I’d guess And here’s today’s date and an email addresss A life story A life story A life story
I found this musical off a recommended song on Spotify, and started listening to the album. There a lot of good songs in this show, but there are defiantly some story telling flaws that show weak writing. It's just there is so much obvious exposition, not subtle at all, but the performances and voices are great.

For those of you who don't know, the song that is sung by Claire at 1:10:38 (called I'll Be Here) has an absolute heart-wrenching story behind it:

Gabriella Marzetta would make an *excellent* Dawn from Waitress x
I believe she played Dawn in the national tour of Waitress. I was so excited for Waitress to finally come to Australia but corona caused it to be indefinitely postponed 😔
The deb was perfect
I went to see this play but in 2017 and will Rotherham people playing in it
I watched it on a whim after hearing a few seconds of a song in a meme video. I'm not native, so there were parts where I couldn't understand the exact details first (so I repeated those parts lol), but it was definitely worth the time. At times, I had the urge to clap with the audience, tho refrained at the end to not look like an idiot applauding in front of a laptop... :D
I'm super late, but why is Let Things Go replaced by Cancelling the Party?
it was out of her vocal range probably
im new to this musical, does anyone know why cancelling the party is not in the official soundtrack?
is it just me, or does the guy playing jason look EXACTLY like kyle selig?
No fucking clue what's going on but I kinda Like it ?
Same
Sorry I'm new but can anyone tell me where can I watch the whole musical? I'm desperate to watch it after I heard
This is already the full musical! Glad you’re enjoying it! I watch this every week hehe
@@torchtorquedreams4348 Ohhhh THAT'S AWESOME!! Thx!!
46:11 the picture fell-
Awoop me jump scare 😭
SOMEONE DROP WARRENS @
i hoped to see a choir singing ordinary days
Ngl, Jason not going up on the high beltier parts in Hundred Story City was pretty disappointing, especially since the song was already lowered a whole step.
1:09:40
17:56 Jason like 'Who's Jackson?'
Time stamp for later! 21:58
Did they not include ‘let things go’?
no
For some reason they put "Canceling the Party" in it's place which was originally written but cut from the show and doesn't make any sense in that moment. It's a strange substitution.
Is this the firts act?
Iara Rodriguez it’s a one act musical

Küsimus ebajumalatele ohverdatud lihast
1 Ebajumalatele ohverdatud liha kohta te ütlete: „Me teame, et
meil kõigil on tunnetus.” Tunnetus teeb suureliseks, aga
armastus ehitab.
4 Ebajumalatele ohverdatud liha söömise kohta te ütlete: „Me
me millestki ilma, ega saa me mingit kasu, kui sööme.
on, juhatata ebajumalate ohvriliha söömisele?
Have a Jawbreaker!
Please! add the lyrics (I dont understand english very well)

Ordinary Days - Don't Wanna Be Here Lyrics
DEB
I grew up in like, the middle of nowhere
And I swore I would never go back.
My hometown was like the suburb of a suburb
I actually lived on a cul-de-sac.
That’s literally a road that goes nowhere.
That’s the definition of dead end.
I said, “I can’t wait to learn to do a three-point-turn”
Because I don’t wanna be here.
In four long years, I finished up with high school.
Graduated top of my class. Thank you!
But in college I discovered that devising my own major
Was a bureaucratic pain in the ass.
I thought I’d recontextualize Sartre
But could only register for first-year French. Ha!
Well, you should’ve heard my mom when I dropped the bomb
And said, “I don’t wanna be here
No, I don’t wanna be here.”
Now, I am not a negative person
It’s just that I’ve always known that I had places to go
Dreams to fulfill and ideas to discover
They’re just never where I am.
So anyway, back at school
I waited five semesters
Till I could snag one of their random degrees
I moved down south, ‘cause I heard everyone was hiring
And they were. At the Applebee’s.
They fired me, like, three weeks later.
My sublet promptly, whoops, fell through.
As I checked into a hotel, I said, “It’s just as well.
Because I don’t wanna be here.
No, I don’t wanna be here.”
And I, I was not a negative person
So I packed up my bags, though I had no place to go
I opened a map and said, “Show me my future.
‘Cause it isn’t where I am.”
I finally got a job at some hum-drum office
Like everyone right out of school does
I sat there at my cubicle every day
Sending faxes, and that’s what my life was
Oh, I went back home and said to my parents,
“I know what I’ve got to do.”
And since I am a dork
I moved to New York
And I started grad school.
I really don’t wanna be here.
Ordinary Days - The Space Between Lyrics
JASON
There were fourteen blocks between her place and mine
I walked those blocks every single day
I started feeling with each passing sign
That she was living too far away
I got to her place and said, “We’ve been together a year.
Wouldn’t it be genius if I lived, well, right here.”
I got one of her priceless stares, but said,
“Honey, haven’t you noticed there’s
All this space between
Where I leave my house and I see your face.
All this space between
When I buzzed your door and then we embrace.”
I must’ve flashed my sexy grin
‘Cause next thing you know I am moving in with her
Yeah, this is her apartment.
And yeah, it’s filled with all her stuff.
But setting up and squeezing in, that’s my department
So if I move her favorite chair, I can get my desk in there
Slide her sofa to the right so we won’t stub our toes at night
Merge our two apartments into one
And we’ll feel like we’ve begun
Oh! So I rip the tape off this cardboard box
And lay my claim on a dresser drawer
I say goodbye to those fourteen blocks
Now just imagine what lies in store
The city’d gotten me down
But that’s ‘cause I should’ve known
You really don’t want to do New York alone
The best thing I ever did
Might be saying, “Screw it!” and getting rid of the
Space between
Me and the girl I can’t get out of my head
All the space between
The moment we’re in and what’s lying ahead
I’ve been waiting for something here
But now I’m rushing toward the future and I’m leaping clear
Of the space between.
Ordinary Days - Let Things Go Lyrics
CLAIRE
How does this happen? All your life
You think the space you’ve got is not enough.
But then you open your closet door and think,
“My life must be more than the sum of this stuff.”
Something moves you from within.
Like, say, your boyfriend moving in.
And that’s how you begin to let things go.
You look up at that shelf and you tell yourself to let things go.
And next thing you know…..
You are standing amidst your whole entire history
And you’re strewing it across the floor.
You’ve got out-of-date planners and dog-eared postcards
And think, “What in God’s name was I keeping these for?”
Packed in boxes just in case
But now I really need the space
So I’m gonna clean this place and let things go.
I’m determined to clear out some room in here and let things go.
I’m letting it go
All of these years and years of junk and flotsam
Plastic souvenirs, why, look, I’ve got some.
Birthday cards, a pamphlet on Van Gough
I should’ve done this years ago.
But somehow I’ve been petrified
To see what’s been kept inside these chests and drawers
It’s so very strange finding stuff from a lifetime ago
Even when the life you find is yours.
‘Cause there are things that make you feel
That you need this proof your past was real.
And you can’t let them go
So back into boxes they go
Oh
How does this happen?
You tear up your apartment just to put it back together again
Jason will be fine
We’ll get creative with our space so that all of our things fit together and then
My whole life can stay in there
Well, he’s got to put his shoes somewhere
Ugh! Why can’t I be some other Claire
Who can just let things go?
I mean, I said I would try and I did
But I can’t let things go
You know Martha Stewart, I’m not her
I’m gonna let things go back where they were.
5 Ordinary Days - Dear Professor Thompson (Part 1) Lyrics
Here's my room at school, right?
Where I keep tucked away
Virginia Wolf and me, this is where we stay
Modern Lit is dense, right?
But everything's okay
I'm working on my thesis everyday
Now since my laptops verging on collapse
I keep long hand notes and xerox scraps in a handbound book
That drips with old school flair
But this unique approach can be a drag
When you keep the whole thing in your bag
And suddenly the goddamn things not there
It's not there
It's not there
It's not there
It's not there
It's not there
It's not there
It's not there
Dear professor thompson, this is deb, you're my advisor
I am writing you to ask a little favor
Question
I know when we first met you made it very,
Very clear that under no circumstances be they medical emotion,
No formilal or chronic
Could we ever ever turn in something late
But dear professor thompson, i've a little situation
And i'm hoping you will show a little mercy on me
And grant me an extension on the first step of my thesis
Yours
Thanks in advance
Hugs

Ordinary Days - Life Story Lyrics
WARREN
This is a photograph I found on the street,
Oh, a year ago.
I was walking tonight like I usually walk
Through those benches outside Union Square
When all of a sudden I tripped over something
And look, it was this little book
This book is different from most things
I’ve found for one reason.
Yes, it looks old.
But there’s proof someone dropped this today.
You’ll notice the cover is missing, the font antique.
The pages are yellowed, but what’s unique
Are the notes in the margins in ballpoint, I’d guess
And here’s today’s date and an email addresss
A life story
A life story
A life story

I found this musical off a recommended song on Spotify, and started listening to the album. There a lot of good songs in this show, but there are defiantly some story telling flaws that show weak writing. It's just there is so much obvious exposition, not subtle at all, but the performances and voices are great.
I still love it, anyway
Same with the Spotify thing.
