    Had an interview yesterday for a sales position in the very competitive HR and payroll services industry. I can't begin to tell you how much your videos helped me get through my interview. Of course, they asked me the dreaded question: Tell me about yourself, which to me, isn't really a question. Nonetheless, your tips and formula on how best to prepare to nail a response worked like a charm! They also asked me what my strengths and weaknesses are, and at the end, they asked me a question I've never been asked before. The question was: Tell me why we SHOULDN'T hire you?? Talk about being completely taken by surprise! My first response was, Wow! I've never been asked this question before. To which they replied, that's why we ask it, with a smirk on their face. LOL! It was all in fun, but It really made me think, which obviously was the point. I handled it okay, but I'd love to see a video on how YOU would handle this question!! Thanks again!!

    Hey there. Thanks for sharing such informative and helpful tips on this channel. Some of them are really practical such as how to cope with nerves by pressing the nerve release point on the hands and innovative compared to other TH-camrs. But not everyone has the patience to stick from the beginning to the end.
    I appreciate your work and I will continue to support your channel! Sending you my blessings💛

    I have an interview in 2 hours, I've watched a lot of your videos and I felt calm and prepared... we're in the middle of a huge storm, it's been raining non-stop for the past two days and since I haven't received a cancellation for my interview, I'm determined to go. I'm anxious about the rain and the possibility of arriving soaked and filthy 😔

      @@LifeWorkBalance I followed all your advice, the first question "tell me about yourself"! I prepared my answer but I was insecure about it since my main work experience is in venezuela (country of origin) and I felt very insecure about naming companies and responsibilities because it's really different to this country and I worked in the human resources area, even so I did well, I was able to maintain a fluid and constant communication, putting ideas together, answering questions and being spontaneous. the position is customer service cashier, the interview was from 10am to 10:30am and since I arrived 10 minutes early I was able to start before 10 and finish at 10:26am (he said he had another interview at 10:30am so I didn't want to extend it too much) he gave me his card, talked about the payment, my schedule at my current job and the next steps to follow in the interview process. he told me that he still had to interview the other person but that he was calling me back soon. When I asked my prepared questions and it was time for "do you have any hesitation about my qualifications?" He replied, "None, as I said before, I chose your resume because of your work experience and you have answered all my questions effectively." I thanked him for the opportunity and walked around the store to get a better feel for the place. I don't know if I'll get the job but I feel good about the experience, even when I was extremely nervous after I sat and started talking I felt like I definitely knew what to do, so THANK YOU, watching your videos gave me a clear picture of what to expect. Oh and I was praying to get a break from the rain and yes, it wasn't raining when I got there so, I was able to stay dry and presentable!

    What are your thoughts on bringing a note with already prepared answers to an interviewer’s questions? For example, you do some research on “how to answer interview questions” for said job and one notes key answers they feel will help in an interview. Even if they don’t use those specific answers. Just overall, is that a do or don’t?
    I know not all interviewers will ask questions you’ve researched but having already prepared answers helps being I do have a little anxiety.

    Hi, is it ok, I wear hijab with formal dress during interview? As I see interviewer bit surprised last time. Should I explain them that hijab is related to my religious obligation?

    Thank you for all of the awesome content and help. How do you feel, in doing a virtual interview, about selecting the blur background feature as to not have show any distractions? Thanks!

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm 50/50 on blurred backgrounds - sometimes they create more distractions than you intended! If you are SURE you won't have any movement (by other people, pets, etc.) then you can likely use a blurred background with no concerns!

    I spent years in Japan and developed a habit of bowing. It's a short bow with my arms at my sides. That unacceptable to be doing back in the U.S.? I consider it incredibly polite.

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! I wouldn’t say it’s unacceptable, but I do think it could throw your interviewers off a little since that is not “normal” practice in the US. If you were to bow, it shouldn’t disqualify you, so I wouldn’t think too hard about it!

    What are your thoughts on virtual backgrounds on a virtual interview? I have an upcoming interview on Aug 30th and will be at my home for the interview.

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hope I am not too late answering your question! Virtual backgrounds are okay, as long as they are not too distracting. Sometimes the virtual background can be too visually noisy, and can blur out parts of our bodies, which makes it distracting to others. Test it beforehand and see what you think!

      @@LifeWorkBalance Thanks for reply, the interview was last week. I used a blurred background. I kept my camera on even though the entire 5-person panel kept their cameras off. It was very unsettling and threw me off since I could not pick up on visual cues from others involved. By end of interview, I felt they already had chosen someone and were going through the motions of the interview, they did not event ask me the standard tell us about yourself at the start. I enjoy your videos.

      This video was about non-verbal behaviour. There are heaps of other videos on what to say/not say during an interview. Hope that helps! 😊
