Ur my inspiration! Ur the whole reason why i started singing. And even when everyone told me I was bad and was never going to make it big, I never gave up. And now im a really good singer and have improved like x1000000. Thank you for posting this video, because without it, I never would have been the same person I am today. Thank you so much.
Finally!! Someone who does a cover of this song who can belt. This is amazing. I hate seeing ppl on youtube trying to do Wicked songs and can't belt... WIcked is belting, and you did it justice! Bravo!
if there was a male elphaba... you'd totally be her!! er...i mean, him. whatever. ' YOU TOTALLY ROCK DUDE!! and props for going the Idina route... powerhousing through the last riffs instaed of adding little flourishes. it adds so much intensity to the songs! kudos!
wow!!!! Great!!! I loved you belting... I wish I could have that space in my belting voice... but sometimes it sounds squeezed... Well thnx anyway... the more i see people posting it, the more i fell like doing that myself hihihi.....
i know you say your just messing around, but your voice is phenomenal! it's so powerful and strong, you made it pitch perfect, if Elphaba was cast to a male, you'd sure get it. Thanks for uploading this snippet of talent! Tayler :D
wow! That was the best guy version of this song! I try to sing this all the time and im a base which is really hard to sing original key but this is good
Hey there. I'm a vocal coach based in France. I think you did a great job on this. Some pointers - you're using a cry based belt at the minute - it would sound even more powerful if you put more twang in it, or if you learned a cricoid belt instead. Other than that, if you take up another two keys, your voice will really come into its own. Well done and keep up the good work - you're a great singer.
Hey it's Morgan Thompson! I got your comment that you left me and watched your video. It was really good! I liked your other videos too. I think Mallory may have seen them before also, but yeah your videos are really good! You have a really good voice!
Holy Crap! You are soooo good. There are SOOO many SUCKY "male defying gravity"'s But you finally broke the mold and gave the guy version of elphie a good name. Way to be!
omg!..... at the start i thought that you were gonna be crap cause i've never heard a guy sing that song to justice.... but... you blew me away! you seriously need a contract or audition for a mjor musical because you are wayyy talented !!
Awesome! Very nice support and pitch accuracy. The next step is finding some pure vowels. Aspire to sing every word exactly as you would say it...not only will your sound improve, but it will become easier to produce. You're actually doing it pretty well, but there were a few places where you defaulted to musical theatre vowels. =)
With your range and monumental belting voice I would love to hear you sing Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid. If you would consider doing some stuff from The Last Five Years. I think you are really good. Props. Jake
Very nice vocals. Keep studying and you could definately have ba career in show business. I see you as LINK LARKIN in Hairspray. You've got the vocals, talent, and not to mention the pretty boy looks!
Absolutely wonderful...I think I would rather hear you perform this than most girls lol....very good job. My only critique...well more of a request really; at :43 I love that note and I know you have it in your range...I would love to hear it sustained just a beat or two longer. More like Idina does. I think it would really show off your voice more. I'm a voice major, trust me lol. But that's the only thing...absolutely stunning...
HOLY CRAP!!!!! deff. the best male version of this song!!!!! If a guy ever got to play Elphaba you would have my vote! If you don't mind me asking what is your voice range? and what tips can you give about belting the climax like that? again AMAZING!!!!
snap... that's pretty good. I have the karaoke track but I only have the original key so I've had to improvise a bit to suit it more to a male range... I'd love to be able to raise it several steps!
i just did a a musical called broadway rocks for broadway cares fights aids in my community. its a compilation of rock songs from broadway and it starts off with an audition medley, coincidentally, i sang defying gravity and knocked the socks off of every1
