For those who arent into the musical theater business, you have to understand how difficult these songs are. The musical score was already written obviously when original auditions for wicked happened, then idina comes in and absolutely smashes it to the point they changed the score to her key/octave so everyone after her would have to sing in that range. Hitting an E6 note and have it stable with no cracks and solid vibrato is a massive task. So u seeing these kids even attempting these songs is amazing. Not all of them are hitting an E6 but they are pretty close and do a great job. Defying gravity is obviously the most known song from wicked along with popular but i do feel that songs like dancing through life, and no good deed go underrated. All of these performers did a good job and huge amount of courage. I mean i wouldnt attempt defying gravity and i played rizzo in grease on broadway lol. I just want people who arent necessarily familiar with what it takes to be in a musical, let alone one like wicked, is giant and all of these people deseve major recognition
I have listened to multiple covers of the song, including Lea, Chris, and Amber on Glee. Cynthia Erivo is very good in the new film. No question that Beau was the best of these 5, but The Dark Hero was almost operatic. Idina Menzel set the standard.
many people reinterpret the song the original tone is not in E6, they actually readjusted it, but for a child it's normal, children always have higher pitched voices
I'm not in musical theater, but feel that I should have pursued Broadway in my youth. Now I'm too old, but I can still belt these songs all these years later. So who knows.. Maybe one day I'll try out for America's got talent. Maybe I can have my Susan Boyle moment after all. 😅
Wow no one is talking about number 2 and she is only 12! Her voice is so controlled. Like how can someone sing like that at that age?? Interpretation on point too
Her name is Beau Dermott, and I personally think she's better vocally than any cover I've heard. I prefer her to the one recorded Broadway performance I've heard. I need to hear more. Beau has gone on to perform other songs, and she's absolutely amazing. She's 21 now
The second one knew she was killing it. You could see it in her face and posture. All that confidence so young! I hope she has an incredible theater career. Even her mom looked at the host like I know y’all hear that crowd.
This is a Very True Fact: What makes Beau, father’s reaction so much more touching is the fact he’d just received a cancer diagnosis, but never told his family until after the BGT finale so as to not take away from his little girl’s moment. The cancer ended up being terminal, but he got to see his little girl shine, and you can it in his eyes that the emotions he shows is more than just fatherly pride.
Olivia (the first one) is one of the most incredible child singers/singers in general that is born with the most incredible vocals and deserves anything in the music industry that she can work for. I would love to see more of her later in her life whe she trains for a possible professional career
this is my 1st time watching this but omg the first girl omg i literally could hear her all day, i love her!! i want her to audition for a role in the future !
It would’ve been so crack up but obviously horrible if Batman’s lines snapped in the air while he was singing defy gravity 😆, pummelling him flat on the ground 😂
I love Beau's version so much when I first discovered it I've added it into my Spotify playlist. But holy molly... Olivia's version is stunning as well 🥹❤ and Simon as Elphaba got me rolling 🤣
Watching the 2nd girl sing, her facial expressions reminds me of watching Sarah Brightman. He voice is so polished that I wouldn't be surprised if she's had some vocal training. Definitely has a bright future ahead of she chooses to pursue singing as a career.
I like to imagine the first girl walked out and gave such a beautiful performance that she single-handedly restored everyone's faith in humanity. Then, the second girl came out right after, announced she'd be singing the same song, and everyone in the audience simultaneously tossed their arms up 😆🤣
1. S TIER BABY... I thought it sounded like the original Indina Menzel alot, but it's just insane how a kid can do this. 2. A tier. She put her own twist on it, but I'm not sure I liked it. The end was amazing though. 3. wtf 4. wait... is this the same girl? 5. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The first girl was so cute and amazing, I'm glad Amanda pressed her golden buzzer. The second girl, Charlotte Church look alike and even sounds like her just wow omg ❤❤❤❤ Amanda did the golden buzzer for both of them 😍😍😍

i love no good deed SO MUCH! more than defying gravity
I lost it with the Batman 😂
He sounds like dracula
Reminds of one of the "Justice League Unlimited" episodes, Kevin Conroy's Batman had to show his musical talents.
Me too lol 😂😂😂😂

Both 1 and 2 are incredible. But wow number 2 . That voice was so mature. Amazing. Chills
Wow no one is talking about number 2 and she is only 12! Her voice is so controlled. Like how can someone sing like that at that age?? Interpretation on point too
She is 11
@@Noah_tolit Not trying to be THAT person but I think you're thinking of the first one
Olivia is 11 and Beau is 12
@@LolaThewlis ohhhhh sorry didn’t see where he said number 2
Beau is 21 now. These clips aren't brand new.
Her name is Beau Dermott, and I personally think she's better vocally than any cover I've heard. I prefer her to the one recorded Broadway performance I've heard. I need to hear more. Beau has gone on to perform other songs, and she's absolutely amazing. She's 21 now
It's hard not to cry such little girls with powerful voices ❤makes me cry to
4:02 “I like her, same” was hilarious😂❤
FR LOL
The boy saying it I think he was crushing on her don’t ask me way I just think so
I got goosebumps at the 2nd one. Her eyes changed!!! Like i can see the embodiment of Elphaba in the girls spirit !!! ❤
The 12 yr olr girl Beau was amazing and Batman killed it...Never thought I'd see Batman sing Defying Gravity but I'm here for it.
Olivia did amazing!!!!
Of all of those, that one was the best in my opinion!!!
THE FIRST ONE WITH THE RUBY SHOES I COULD SOB 😭😭😭😭😭😭 SHE WAS AMAZING
ruby shoes and the pink dress SO CUTE
I bet she put on those slippers on purpose just because of the song
Everyone saying how good the first one is (which it is really good) but the 2nd one is INCREDIBLE OMG. Literal goosebumps
the girls were all really good for different reasons, i don't know about Batman, the last guy has a really good voice.
The 4th one really. It's just the 2nd one with better visuals and stuff. Same girl.
The second one knew she was killing it. You could see it in her face and posture. All that confidence so young! I hope she has an incredible theater career. Even her mom looked at the host like I know y’all hear that crowd.
I was shocked at how deep and rich the second one was. Just a year older than first and voice sounds so much older.
REAL!!!!
Should be titled top 5 defying gravity covers on bgt
but wicked is more catchy
@@indysun Esp with the movie freshly released.
Lord… the first girl had me in TEARS! I completely broke down 🤣 So powerful ❤
Batman: “Nobody…is ever gonna bring me down”.
Actually the stage crew will have to.
Beau’s was the first audition I saw and will always stick with me. Incredible, she made it her own, and literal chills.
Agreed. I remember watching it for the first time when I was younger, and it's still the best version I've ever heard. Her voice is so powerful!
Agree❤😊 She had Lot of presence, not only voice.. and her voice is so mature
Yes same for me!!
The first one got me bawling my eyes out 😭 beautiful
Me too
Number 1 was very movie musical and cute, number 2 was more a version from theatre; both were amazing!
The second one definitely does musical theatre
“I wasn’t expecting that”
“How can you expect that”
Best quote ever😂🦇
Beau has always been my favorite performance of Defying Gravity. She was brilliant. The look she gives after the last note. Amazing.
I love the first one cuz after she finishes singing she acts like nothing happened 😂😂😂😂😂❤
I think that Beau’s version is the best. She had such stage presence. Remarkable for someone so young at the time.

Absolutely! Beau’s is the best!
The second one gave me chills
The 1st little girl singing wicked caught a piece of my heart❤

I've never heard a Voice Like that on an 11-Year-Old in my Life, you came on Stage an you blew us away.
#2!!!!!!!! All the way!!!! Beau Demont is INCREDIBLE ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ MAGICAL ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨💫💫💫💫💫
It's Dermott
🇫🇷 Pour la seconde fois, j’ai pris plaisir à écouter chanter cette petite fille. Quel talent ! ❤️
Batman needed to be In this. ❤
21:05 simon as a witch is something that will never leave my memory
Batman would make an excellent Phantom.
THE FIRST ON EVEN GOT ME CRYING
Bro the first one was crazy
Amanda looks so much like Glinda in the first one wow!
this is my 1st time watching this but omg the first girl omg i literally could hear her all day, i love her!! i want her to audition for a role in the future !
I think Batman is the most impressive because he's literally flying while singing.
Like in the movie
I mean he IS a professional opera singer
😅😅😅😅😅
@@ItsMikeylol Yeah but Opera is not in English, Wicked is in English, so this sounded horrible.
@@ItsMikeylol lol like OPERA singing makes you good at English hahahahahahahahahahah.
Olivia and Beau absolutely smashed it. Both deserved the Golden Buzzer.
Dude, girl number 2 is amazing!!!!!
1&2 brought me to tears
3 Batman which was good in his own right
4 was very beautiful
5 collab with defying gravity in it
It would’ve been so crack up but obviously horrible if Batman’s lines snapped in the air while he was singing defy gravity 😆, pummelling him flat on the ground 😂
One day, those kids at the beginning of this video will find themselves playing Elphaba on stage.
Amanda give the gold buzzer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Simon's faces during the Batman one were sending me 😂
Numbee 2 . What a power
the tones, vibrato, and future as alphaba
I was so expecting the first girl to grab the mic out of the stand and start doing the moves from the musical! So cool!
14:17 Superman flys Batman glides and has no super powers. Batman sings about flying.
13:27 he is so confused 😂😂😂
1 is good but #2 has been the best. Imo since I've heard the song few years ago.
I love Beau's version so much when I first discovered it I've added it into my Spotify playlist. But holy molly... Olivia's version is stunning as well 🥹❤ and Simon as Elphaba got me rolling 🤣
1:45 I started crying lol.
Same 😭
Wow number 2 was amazing. I didn't think it could get better than 1 but wow
Defying gravity, defying gravity, defying gravity, defying gravity aaaaand.. uhm. Defying gravity. Saved you the time 👌
Watching the 2nd girl sing, her facial expressions reminds me of watching Sarah Brightman. He voice is so polished that I wouldn't be surprised if she's had some vocal training. Definitely has a bright future ahead of she chooses to pursue singing as a career.
That's what I got as well. You can hear the influence in her voice at times as well.
I like to imagine the first girl walked out and gave such a beautiful performance that she single-handedly restored everyone's faith in humanity. Then, the second girl came out right after, announced she'd be singing the same song, and everyone in the audience simultaneously tossed their arms up 😆🤣
How was the 2nd girl 12?! bloody incredible. so impressive to have that technique at that age
Wow the second girl was amazing 👏
Batman was incredible!
He must be an opera singer…he sounds like dracula tho to me lol
I loved Beau singing and her navy silver star dress is lovely too.
Batman was so good😂😂
That first little girl blew every single person who has ever sang that song. Broadway or movie.
Thanks for sharing! ❤
I love how in awe Simon looks when Batman is preforming
4:08 to the end of the song is absolutely world class
The second one got my jaw dropped immediately
The first one got me in tears… 🥹
The last one was my fav performance because I couldn’t stop smiling 😂
I love Beau. That's my girl 💜 The voice of an Angel 🪽
Great performances, would love to see someone do another song from Wicked

last one make my cry!!
Merry popin?! that perfect!!
I loved the two girls, both have phenomenal talent, but the whole last act was really good!
Both one and two are great, but the third one is the best🎉
Totally agree 👍 I said the same thing. 😊
Coisa mais linda, mais que merecido, sensacional! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨💖💚
wow that 1st young girl was amazing!!!
Watching the family’s reaction always makes me cry.
Both first girls were amazing and I love Batman defying gravity
1. S TIER BABY... I thought it sounded like the original Indina Menzel alot, but it's just insane how a kid can do this.
2. A tier. She put her own twist on it, but I'm not sure I liked it. The end was amazing though.
3. wtf
4. wait... is this the same girl?
5. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Never saw 2 such control ❤
The amount of breathing and lack of for defying gravity and for a child gives me literal goosebumps
The random Mary Poppins song 💀
The Batman Singer is Top Winner!. I love A.I of the Judges and 2 guys. Great.
The first girl was so cute and amazing, I'm glad Amanda pressed her golden buzzer. The second girl, Charlotte Church look alike and even sounds like her just wow omg ❤❤❤❤ Amanda did the golden buzzer for both of them 😍😍😍
NAH THE FIRST GIRL WHILE SINGING THE “WHOAAAAAAAAAAA” WAS SO GOOD MY VOICE WOULD OF CRACKED 😨
Number 5 was simply phenomenal. As good as number 1 was, it was forgotten as soon as Marsha Wallace’s “Tomorrow” started playing.
The thumbnail😂💚
Second gal should audition for Elphaba role, when she reaches the age!
My daughter did theater and she was Annie and several other characters that had hard songs, but amazingly she had the voice to make it work.
13:01 wait a minute... is that Batman... singing Defying Gravity?! what?! lol Very entertaining ha ha. well done.
Amazing! I loved everything they did.Congrats!
I've seen the second one before IT'S SO GOOD AAAAAA
Number 3 just got me dying laughing so hard
1st one effortless, deserved golden buzzer, will go far!
2nd Great! Deserves to go through
BatMan - 🎉 Go on, Won me over
They both are wonderful they have the range
The little girl on the second one 11:06
Wow the first girl was amazing ❤. X
I Love wicked and have been listing the music for eight years
Number 2 is the best of 5 excellent auditions.
