Your take on Riddim absolutely made my day; I've gotten a lot of hate for voicing the same opinion, and it's super refreshing to see somebody that finally agrees with me. I'm just so confused by how people can even listen to the genre.
Gotta say Bishu made this month super enjoyable. And the same goes for DirtyPhonics. Also, Feel Again was only good until the drop. Oh. And Hot Shot was one of the best this month had to offer
This month was STACKED! Obviously big fan of the Dirtyphonics, Bishu, Nigel Good & No Mana albums, but also HOT SHOT, So Lost, Face Lift & Out Of Frame
the reason i commented about the headbanging on 'Severe' is because it's not a thing in the techno scene haha, it was hilarious when i was at rampage this February and people were headbanging to the Dominate VIP. It'd be the equivalent of people melbourne shuffling on Dubstep
Best: Out of Frame, Garage17, Ballistic Worst: Face Lift, FEEL AGAIN, ON AND ON A massive month with 3 albums to cover... and I didn't really have a strong opinion on most of them outside of the best and worst. Still a good month, though.
Yo seeing Hollywood Principle on Monstercat with Conro was crazy. They made a lot of the classic RL music so I have a soft spot for them. Also my favorite of this month has to to Ballistic. I honestly think it’s my 2nd favorite of the year so far behind Stutter from Mechanomorphic. Both the complextro and trap drops are absolutely incredible. And honestly, all 4 of the albums this month were great. My favorite of them had to be No Mana’s though, especially because of the AV mix.
About Meant 2 Be - turns out Had2Go is not the only song where the vocal is present. I remember it from a song released on NCS in 2020 called Sorry (I Had To Leave) by Olly Walker. So, funnily enough, the same sample was used in at least 3 different songs with completely different titles and made in completely different styles!
best: ecstatic and irresponsible, solarpunk, so lost, hot shot, ballistic, take me away edit: this month is way too good. ecstatic and irresponsible overtook lost call as my fav of no mana's ep.
Unfortunately, I was unlucky enough to find out Face Lift was being released on my birthday (May 15th). Not a gift I was looking forward to, especially after such brilliant present by ROY KNOX last year (About U)
ANOTHER STACKED MONTH... HOLY CHRIST!!! Doing weekly reviews is, to a certain extent, complicated by two factors: first of all, opinions change constantly and some tracks, which we classified as good/amazing at the time, stopped being so or at least a little bit. Secondly, classifying more than 40 or 50 tracks by sub-label is an arduous task and requires meticulous and continuous analysis, in order to ensure consistent placements. Having said the above and after three long months, Monstercat reached its solid point in terms of quality, almost on par with January 2024. Here's my ranking (based on my personal opinion) 1.- Dirtyphonics - Moonlight Runners [10/10] If Right Here, Right Now is a addictive bop, Moonlight Runners does it the same way. Fusion between Bass House/Complextro and a bit of Phonk's influence (cowbell sounds), accompanied by a voice assistant-like vocal chops, is amazing and keeps the night-driving concept interesting. 💥 2.- Bad Computer & imallryt - So Lost [10/10] I love how Craig (Bad Computer) leaves his comfort zone to experiment with other style, without leaving aside his personality has characterized him so much. Melody-chord progression and imallryt's vocal performance are quite chilly and refreshing. 3.- Bossfight - Ballistic [9.8/10] Bossfight's spree effect never fails!!! Those hard-hitting breakbeat drops hit hard. It's not necessarily on par with Grit and this bop still makes it spectacular. 4.- Skybreak, Sharks & LÚTHIEN - Out of Frame [9.7/10] Skybreak and Sharks have impressive chemistry to turn a simple collab into a huge banger. Overall drops and atmosphere resonate in the most bittersweet and gritty way. Also, LÚTHIEN's vocal performance makes a great gap to the aforementioned. Having this release in our hands represents great happiness, but at the same time, a deep melancholy knowing Sharks will stop making music... At least for a while. Let's just hope he's well and have him a hopeful future, full of constant achievements and learnings. Thank U for joining EDM and share fond memories. Thank U for everything, Sharks. 5.- No Mana & Feed Me - Hopeless (feat. Bertie Scott) [9.5/10] To be completely honest, this is the most consistent track on the LP (at least from my point of view). I'm even more surprised by this knowing the Feed Me's presence. Deep chords have excellent structure and sound addictive. There's nothing more to highlight. 6.- Nigel Good - Cloudrunner (feat. Holly Drummond) [9.4/10] Years without seeing Holly Drummond's name on the label! Of course, she did a outstanding vocal performance. 7.- Nigel Good - Jay & Wren (feat. Richard Caddock) [9.0/10] Richard Caddock, like Holly Drummond, gave a well-structured vocal performance. Chord and synth progression are just as vibrant. 8.- F.O.O.L - Damage [8.9/10] F.O.O.L's dark Midtempo/Synthwave never disappoints. Jazzy instruments gives interest to the environment too. 9.- Tokyo Machine - HOT SHOT [8.8/10] Tokyo Machine and heavy Complextro form a fulfilling combo. Hard-pounding chiptune off-drops slaps in a fiery way and them change slightly throughout the track. Vocal chops are squeaky, but don't bother at all. 10.- Dirtyphonics - Concentrate [8.7/10] If the bassline didn't fall into DnB standards, Concentrate would be at a higher level. Sinister vibe and hard-hitting breakbeats slaps well at least. 11.- Nigel Good - Early Bird (feat. Carey Clayton) [8.4/10] It's positive to hear soft Synthwave on this album. Nigel Good, having the ability to create warm atmospheres and chord progressions, there's a balanced work in the space concept. 12.- Hollywood Principle & Conro - Take Me Away [8.3/10] Slutter-y House vibe It's simple and surprisingly catchy. I don't find it bothered or boring at any time imo. Conro as always performing his vocals in his own warmy way. 13.- Nigel Good - One Plus Space [8.3/10] Space Plus One hits more harder. However, One Plus Space does it its good way. 13.- No Mana & EMSKI - Everlasting [8.2/10] Yeah, I'm sunk in this. It really sounds very good. 14.- Codeko & Bertie Scott - So High [8.0/10] How refreshing is this! All musical elements (kicks, snares pattern, main synth, chord progression, bassline, vocal performance) have an impressive degree of warmth, which transports me to Progressive House old days. Indeed, Codeko and Bertie Scott did a sensational job together. 15.- No Mana - Hit the Ground [7.9/10] Closing track is better than the opening one. As in the rest of the tracks, the atmosphere and progression of the chords, synthesizers and leads are enveloping. 16.- Nigel Good - This Is Us Too [7.9/10] Along with the other tracks on the LP, the synths and chords progress in a warm and pleasant way. 17.- Nigel Good - Rocket Science [7.8/10] More relaxing and progressive space vibe, good choice! 18.- Nigel Good - Bastion Part 2 [7.7/10] Synthy flow it's addictive and it works as an engaging and interesting sequel at the same time. 19.- No Mana - City2City [7.6/10] Deep bass claps resonate a bit more here than on Roadburn. Bouncy vibe favors this aspect. 20.- Bishu - IDK Y [7.6/10] It's difficult to handle a different thoughts of all microcelebrity's LP tracks 'cause each one of them going in the same poppy direction, but doesn't represent any sign of displeasure for the good handling given to it by Bishu. Having said that, IDK Y is more memorable and pleasant due to speed-spaces interspersed inside the clappy-like indie drops.
Phonk House at 1st and Codd Dubz again at last?! Sounds based And Slushii & SPIRIT LINK collab and even OddKidOut's comeback is overrated? C'mon everyone adores it (except OddKidOut which is liked by no reason)

Your take on Riddim absolutely made my day; I've gotten a lot of hate for voicing the same opinion, and it's super refreshing to see somebody that finally agrees with me. I'm just so confused by how people can even listen to the genre.
Riddim has been existed in those 2010s so that's probably why. To me it's very 50/50.
Gotta say Bishu made this month super enjoyable. And the same goes for DirtyPhonics. Also, Feel Again was only good until the drop. Oh. And Hot Shot was one of the best this month had to offer
This month was STACKED!

One of the best months in MC history, thats for sure. interested how you rate that much songs 😂
The month of the long play :")
People praise No Mana's album to heavens but I definitely enjoyed Dirtyphonics' more so I'm glad a song from it is #1.
My personal favorite of the month would deffo be HOT SHOT, Tokis heaviest song to date, but Moonlight Runners is also fire! 🔥
Honestly? This month was such a big step up from april and I'm absolutely loving it
I love no mana so much. I think his album does nothing spectacular but does what it’s meant to do very well.
the reason i commented about the headbanging on 'Severe' is because it's not a thing in the techno scene haha, it was hilarious when i was at rampage this February and people were headbanging to the Dominate VIP. It'd be the equivalent of people melbourne shuffling on Dubstep

Honestly really solid month!
Also solid video. Great job man!
Bass House been growing on me since those newer releases on Monstercat.
fun fact: excluding the riot sped up/slowed down/epic versions, uncaged and instinct have the same amount of songs as in july 2021
best: ecstatic and irresponsible, solarpunk, so lost, hot shot, ballistic, take me away
edit: this month is way too good. ecstatic and irresponsible overtook lost call as my fav of no mana's ep.
You're my one ✌️

Phonk House at 1st and Codd Dubz again at last?! Sounds based
And Slushii & SPIRIT LINK collab and even OddKidOut's comeback is overrated? C'mon everyone adores it (except OddKidOut which is liked by no reason)
