I feel History would’ve been the biggest tour ever if MJ hadn’t capped the price on the tickets. But BAD was really MJ’s last era before the media really heated up the smear campaign against him. And I feel that carefree Mike in this tour for whom even sky wasn’t a limit! RIP to the greatest ever! ❤
The 5 eye nations (the 3rd world terrorist dictator shithole called the USA along with its lapdog countries) started the smear campaign against Jackson right after he bought the Beatles cataloge. Michael Jackson doesn't have a PR problem or smear campaign against him anywhere else in the world. His biggest mistake was treaingt the USA like his home country when he should of treated it like a terrorist shithole like it really is.
@@bagelbramble7335 Yap wiki is your only friend it seems. Quick search for me shows Pink Floyd had sold more yet firstly there's different categories for this (solo and band). Pink Floyd played for DOUBLE the time ie nearly 3 years to MJs 15 months. They played 70 more shows. They ONLY played to 1 million more people than MJ and lastly they grossed only $1 million more than MJ. Don't know what you're on but MJ got GUINNESS records for this tour alone. I'm sure wiki is still your friend so im awaiting another reply from you.
One thing that people miss is that, due to his discoid lupus he had to take Prednisone often long term which alone will destroy your vocal cords as well as kill your immune system and give you EXTREME difficulty sleeping. This plagued him for YEARS. Also a big reason why he'd wear masks. He has the malar rash at Wembley. At 0:36, he's covering his mouth to protect his immunocompromised body.
Most concerts I've been to the artist just sings the songs. Michael didn't do that. He performed all of his songs. What that means is that he had a specific outfit for each song (Bad = buckles, Thriller = sequin jacket, Dirty Diana = loose white shirt, etc), a specific dance that went with each song (Billie Jean = moonwalk, Smooth Criminal = lean over, etc) and a feature special effect for each song (Beat It = hanging from a crane, Jam = pyro fireworks, etc).
I think Dangerous is his best tour. But thats just personal opinion. He was at his creative peak of his powers then. Performance electrifying. The creativity behind it. And i just love his entrance and exit from the stage during that tour. I mean leaving the stage on the rocket was legendary.

I mean the History Tour was still very successful either way
He didn’t cap prices for tickets, he lost out on revenue because he wanted people to enjoy themselves and not to go broke.

It might have been surpassed by now
Quick search and no. It was the second highest of the 80s. And definitely not of all time, that goes to U2 (sadly).

The vocal damage actually goes back to the puberty years, before Thriller or his adult era.
