Rest in Peace Dennis Waterman, will forever be missed. New Tricks is a show i grew up watching and i still watch it daily. Absolutely heartbroken by today's tragic news
i thought it lost a lot when Brian left; he was really the soul of the series, and I think the boss, Mr Waterman (RIP), knew that all too well, and didn't want NT to turn into Minder
I was trying to do some research sitting next to a couple of people talking loudly to each other. At another desk, a guy was eating sandwiches. Kids were yelling to each other. When I politely asked the librarian if there was a time when quiet was enforced, she looked at me as if I'd crawled out from under a rock and said frostily, "The library is a community meeting place." I said that there were plenty of community meeting places but that the library used to be a place where one could quietly read and work. No response. I left and now go to the library only to select books and return them.
Well I've done it.!20 episodes. 12 series from 2003 to2015. They were all magnificent. Any other cop series pales by comparison. , Idiosyncratic ,quirky, surreal and above all interesting. I hope to see something like it in future.
Love the show, I have followed Dennis for years now, Great actor with a fantastic personality, my heart missed a beat when he passed. See you soon Dennis.
as a fanatic of The Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner it's just bizarre seeing James Bolam so... old... i know, everyone ages, but... anyhow... I was in a library once, and the librarians were talking... a lot... about their stupid lives and it was annoying me... I told them to keep it down... and it's not until I sat back down that I realized, I just told two librarians to "Sssssh"
Perhaps if the staff did put a stop to the rumpus, others, who can't stand the noise, would make more use of them........I for one belong to the latter group. After all, staff would put a stop to anyone smoking on the premises. Are we to suppose that smokers never set foot in libraries again after being rebuked?
I'm looking for the episode where Brian is searching through archives in a basement and someone turns the wheel crushing him between the shelves (they move on rails) but he survives thanks to his bicycle helmet. I don't think it's this one, can anyone help?
Part 6 is missing, not an insignificant detail, I thought, one some people might find to be of interest. If, that is, you should happen to be one of those odd characters who like to follow a story from the beginning, + then up to + including the end. Sadly, + inexplicably, the option to do so is not one being made available here, circumstances I feel one might quite rightly be at liberty to describe as 'a right bugger'!!!!!!

Recently discovered this series on Prime. Delightful characters with superb scripts! No wonder it ran for twelve seasons. Every episode spot on!

Brian and Esther need a show of there own, brilliant.
If I had been in the library that day, I would have applauded Brian.
He was totally right, it was a library, it is meant to be quiet !!
I love this series. It is very much appreciated. Thanks for the enjoyment!
Brian is right. That librarian should lose her job for ignoring the noise when people are trying to read in the library.
No libraries now.. they're all computers and kids running around
Community centres now or council offices sharing the space?

I'm in the US & love this show. Americans LOVE spinoffs- Brian & Esther solving crimes would make a great program(me).
I completely agree with Brian about the racket in libraries. Is there no public place we can go where people have to be quiet?!

I'm an ignorant American. What is Brian's accent called, specifically?
He has a Northern England accent.
@@Andy-qe6kk it's just called a "Northern England" accent?
When does Tom Mison show up???
Who replaced james Bolam when he left the series?
Hey Helen, it was Nicolas Lyndhurst, who replaced James Bolam.
@@TheCocoAnarchy93 actaully it was denis lawson, lyndhurst replaced alun armstrong
emma wolton Of course, so it was. I got mixed up.
@@TheCocoAnarchy93 Noone really replaced him because all the new characters were just awful. the worst was Tamsin - ?
