- The Dream SMP themes by @kanayaa are all masterpieces! Today I'm reacting to "Marionettes - Dream’s Theme [Dream SMP]" and "Violence - Technoblade’s Theme [Dream SMP]" and "November 16th - Philza’s Theme [Dream SMP]." Kanaya's Dream SMP themes stand alone as phenomenal music, but in the context of the Dream SMP they're on the NEXT level!
The Dream SMP is a Minecraft roleplay server with @TommyInnit and @Ranboo and @WilburPlays. Kanaya's Dream SMP themes bring the server to life!

The "Marionettes - Dream’s Theme [Dream SMP]" reaction is that it's brilliant. It had a film noir feel to paint @dream, the founder of the Dream SMP, as battle-worn and manipulative. The feeling brings alive the Minecraft 1.16.4 server and show's Kanaya's brilliance. Dream is the puppetmaster and Dream SMP villain. Kanaya nailed that cockiness in a brilliant song.
My "Violence - Technoblade’s Theme [Dream SMP]" reaction was being utterly floored! It's not easy to capture @Technoblade's character on the Dream SMP, but Kanaya did with Violence - Technoblade’s Theme. They captured The Red Festival and Technoblade's desire to not socialize but hatred of government more. This was my first Kanaya song and it was intense and remarkable!
Finally, the "November 16th - Philza’s Theme [Dream SMP]" was emotional and subtle and perfect! At this point @ph1lza hadn't had a big role on the Dream SMP but the role he had was a huge part. Philza stabbed Wilbur Soot and killed him off of the Dream SMP server. November 16th - Philza’s Theme looks at that moment and the emotions Philza felt after on the Dream SMP.
This is a Minecraft but, water rises or lava rises or any other Minecraft 1.16 challenges like that. Kanaya wrote original songs for Philza and Technoblade and Dream based on the events of the Dream SMP, a Minecraft server owned by Dream. This is like a fanart or fan animatic or animation but this time it's a theme song. Woe to the order of people
Basically anything by Precious Jewel Amor, Derivakat, Amanda Fagan, Alioof, Creamay, or Ellienort is absolutely amazing, and it'd be great to see your reactions to some of their songs. I know that that's a lot of names, but trust me, it's worth it.
Woe to the People of Order. The original is made by The Shiny Snivy, but there's a cover by Mizz Fish that is very good and has an extra verse
Monsters, Rue the Day, Take You Down by Amanda Fagan. I think she really captures the narrative of Characters in here songs. Also a great way to get into Hermitcraft is listening to some of Elybeatmaker remixes. They are the best minecraft adjacent music ever.
"The Blade" is a good one. Very different style from Kanaya, but a good one.
Edit: "The Ballad of Technoblade" by Kevin the Chronicler is also a good song. Also "The Sydnicate" and "Sic Semper Tyrannus" once you get far enough in the DreamSMP.
I suggest 'woe to the people of order', 'syndicate' and 'anarchy' for technos' songs

I'd really recommend songs by Amanda Fagan, like "Don't make me choose", "Back to the days" (my personal favorite) and "Monsters" (Ranboo's theme). I haven't seen anyone recommending them, and they're really good! Plus I also recommend Election day by moderately mediocre
Hey! There’s a song about quackity and it doesn’t get as much love as it should. Its called ‘take you down - quackity theme’ by Amanda fagan
Something I just found out that makes this even more fitting for Philza's character: he's canonically ancient. Several centuries old, at least. He's seen everyone he's ever loved die, and it's caused him a lot of pain (Phil's own words there). That makes this song relevant outside the events of 11/16, because of the lines about time. Time is supposed to heal, but it's clearly not doing Philza a damn bit of good.
theres a video called "songs of the smp" by derivakat, its all the fansongs theyve made (ain't no crying, syndicate, welcome home, blue, in my head, kiss your dreams goodbye, turn back time, 4am) and all the songs are very very good
'Woe to the people of order' is obviously being demanded by everyone, but a few other choices would be, in order:
Theseus, Puppet on a String and Clothes of the Emperor (Techno, Dream and Quackity songs respectively) by Precious Jewel Amor (note: Kanaya and PJA did a collab, Kanaya performing Letter to Mr. President and PJA Letter to a Dead Friend, both of which they wrote together (Tubbo and Tommy themes.) PJA uploaded the combined peice to her channel, and it's definitely worth checking out as well!)

These are just some of my personal favorites, don't by any means think you have to watch all of them. Just some ideas!
Kanaya is really amazing. I'm always excited to see new things from her
in philza's theme after kanaya sings 'it was never meant to be' the song stops right there to symbolize wilbur's unfinished symphony which i think is very powerful and meaningful
There are like two DreamSMP musicals in the works that I know of. I know Late-August is involved with one of them...
I think it's good to remember that there was like no character development for techno yet when this was made
I would say a bit more stereotypical for technos character and tbh more of my style thee unknown's "The Blade"
Derivakt is another must in terms of Dream SMP song writers. Their song “In My Head” is legendary.
"Turn back time" is great too
My three favorite songs by her are 1. Violence 2. Marionettes and 3. Let it burn (It is for Wilbur and it as just as good as the others)

I’d recommend Woe to ye People of Order and Inside my head. They are both amazing songs. The former also has a cover that adds an another verse.

Two other artists you should check out and binge is "precious jewel amor" and "derivakat". They have a lot of themes for all different characters. Kanaya and Precious Jewel Amor have a collab on Precious Jewel Amor's channel that is really good. Karl uses the theme Derivakat made about him in his intros and end credits for Tales From the SMP. And also, Wilbur used Kanaya's cover of the L'Manberg Anthem in his finale video.
Yessss I've heard of derivakat and Precious Jewel has started popping up more in my recommended so I'm excited!

Those two and “Syndicate” could be three songs to listen to since he normally watches three when he makes these types of videos.

Can I just say btw:
"Chaos is my lover" - Techno and him teaming up from time to time.
"Power is my best friend" - George was King.
"Step down from the throne, bow to me" - Made George step down for Eret (the opposite didn't happen when this was made).
I thought that it was Eret stepping down for George and join Pogtopia.
This song was made even before Dream replaced George with Eret again.
Also, the "Chaos is my lover" part.
Dream and Techno only teamed up once in Season 1. But then from Season 1 up, him and Dream started teaming and stop and teaming again, so on.
So I think it meant like, chaos, literally.
Because Dream was trying to gain control of everyone.
Violence is probably my favorite song by Kanaya

I really recomend watching/listening to anything Derivakat made, theyre all so smooth. Some of my favs are syndicate(techno song), Welcome home(Tommy's theme) and Turn back time(Karl's theme).

I’d recommend woe to the people of order more specifically the Cthulhu lemon one that has drawings to the original song

If you intend to listen to more dsmp songs, I HIGHLY recommend those by derivakat, especially Turn Back Time, In My Head, and Syndicate. I personally find her songs excellent in capturing various characters in the 2nd/3rd seasons!
Please react to Derivakat as well, her songs are such a bop, she's got an amazing voice and soundtrack! Almost like it's not even Dream SMP, very impressive.

I'd also recommend some songs by derivakat and amanda fagan! ALSO this isn't singing, but a group of musicians wrote and played a medley of songs from manhunt( called manhunt medley by jumpingjunimos) , which is amazing. My favorite part of the whole Dream SMP community is the huge amount of creativity and collaboration in it. So many young artists have the chance to really explore something they love and actually have an audience for it. I think its incredible. Thank you for your reaction and bringing even more attention to these wonderful artists.

The way november 16th ends it is instantly put to the top of my list as the chorus doesnt play after the verse for Wilbur as he died to phil.

28:13 Fun fact, there is actually a Dream SMP musical in the works! Apart from one trailer and a few songs on Alioof's channel (another dsmp songwriter, who also happens to be one of the directors and lead music writers for this project), we haven't seen that much of it.

It’s not really the entire smp but other people’s suggestions are really about the whole smp either so I think I’m good
So it’s Emotional, it’s kinda about the egg, and also skeppy and bad with their relationship for the eggs influence on skeppy

Some details I saw in Kanaya's video:
Technoblade is on the right side with a white background and Dream is on the left side with a black background and I think it's a reference to yin and yang
In marionettes, the line "collecting names as trophies" is a reference to the disc saga finale
Phil's wings in "November 16th" is shattered or broken because of the explosion in L'manburg
The words in the background with Philza is the voices (I think?)
"Step down from the throne" line in marionettes is a another reference On Eret stepping down as king
Wilbur's dead body in the background in "November 16th"
The line "block out the whispers" in violence is a reference (i think) to the voices
Another line in violence "pull the trigger" is when Techno killed Tubbo in the Festival

I think the writing in the background of the Philza one is the lmanberg anthem because that was in the room with the button written on signs
