- Today I went to see the Queen! Had a lovely trip to Buckingham Palace London to see the sights, including St James Park and even some park pelicans!
I then take you on a walking tour to Downing Street (no sight of Boris) and along to Trafalgar Square to see Nelsons Column.

Just a quick fact, you were right. The queen was either at Windsor Castle or Balmoral Castle. When the Union Jack is flying above the Palace, that means shes not home. However, when it's the royal coat of arms, she is.
Hannah, if I ever get back to London (it’s been since 1975!) I am going to hire you to be my official tour guide! 🤩
This was so great to look at as I was living in London in 80-81. You use to be able to walk up to 10 Downing Street. It's also nice to see it without the tourists as well.....the photos would be so nice. I have a photo of me sitting on the lion at Trafalgar Square.

I know we always want what we can't have (human nature) however, it is extremely beautiful there and I have always wanted to live there ❤️you really do a wonderful job of showing us everything thank you so much 😊 really appreciate you doing these walks ❤️🙏 it's so nice to be able to go back and look at these. Thank you - another lovely walk (BTW - the budgies (parakeets in the park) are becoming a nuisance. They were originally housebirds that got loose, and they are breeding like crazy and are all over London). Seems so strange to see London so empty.
I love London and St. James' Park might be my favorite spot - great place to go for a walk, or just sit on the benches watching the birds/squirrels and take a break from the hustle and bustle of central London!

I got the wrong flag!
A lovely video. I have been inside Buckingham, Palace, twice now and each time I have enjoyed it. The Flag is only called the Union Jack, when flown on a Ship. Otherwise, it's a Union Flag. I have some videos, of London, ages ago and know where near as good as yours. I made one about The Temple Church.

Very royal walk! I was there in graduate school for a backpacking trip in 2005! That was our first stop.

Loving the series Hannah! Wish I seen some of them before I headed to London on Saturday, I couldn’t think what to do that was outside. Why didn’t I think of the parks? Anyway, I definitely recommend the War Rooms, I went a couple of years back and really enjoyed it!
Lovely to see the parks looking so peaceful. I think those parakeets started out in West London and they’ve headed east!
Nice tour. I have been on a tour of Buckingham Palace and had tea in their garden. I believe it is only open August and a few weeks of September when I went and the lovely St. James Park and Clarence House. Thanks for doing this so enjoyable. I did the tour on a Sunday when the mall is closed just for pedestrians.
I never knew about that cottage. Must go there next time we are down that way.
Amazing to consider the someone was living in that Regents Park cottage decades before Canada became Canada. Hello, Hannah, from a former colony. Queen Victoria named the city where we live in New Westminster, British Columbia.
Your videos are AMAZING... can't believe how easy and close everything is in the city for sightseeing... our trip was canceled to London April 2020... had everything booked.. even tickets for Phantom of the Opera😭hopefully things will get better in 2021.. to plan AGAIN.... 🙋♀️BYE from Greece. I believe (and I could be wrong) that the Union Jack/Flag is flown when HRH is traveling or staying at one of their other residences, and the Royal Standard is flown when they are at Buckingham Palace. The practice of flying the Union Jack when HRH isn't at Buckingham Palace started when Princess Diana died while The Queen was at Balmoral(?) and there was no flag being flown at Buckingham Palace to lower to half staff.

Hi. Regarding the Flag at Buckingham Palace. If the plain Union Jack is flying the Queen is not Home. If the Royal Standard is Flying the Queen is Home. If a flag is flying at half mast then there has been a bereavements in the family. A flag flying at half mast is always a sign of a death and is a mark of respect. Just thought yo might like to know. 😊👍
I googled it after I uploaded this as I realised I wasn’t sure! Thought the flag looked weird as a Union Jack!

but the other way of telling if the Queen is at home is that all four sentry boxes will be manned. If she's not there only two guards are posted.

There are three entrances in the front of Buck house left is entrance to the private residences ,middle is the courtyard the official state entrance ,right is the Privy purse door where the business takes place

Hi Hannah. Really enjoying watching your London Tour Guide vlogs. I have visited London a few times. I love walking along the Thames and around Canary Wharf, going on a London bus or on the Tube. I love seeing London at night when everything is light up.

I'm not a tourist, more of a native, but I never tire of listening to people talking about London, and listening to their perspective on it, also you give a nice tour. Incidentally I like the sunglasses look.
I think Trooping the Colour was the name of the ceremony you were searching for, when describing the event that takes place every June on Horse Guard's Parade.

Natural History Museum opens 5 August so hopefully the others will be around that date. Like Disney, you’ll have to book a (free) ticket beforehand so they don’t exceed their numbers. Get those batteries charged up..
