for this season i am planning on making this my best storage build yet!!! whats your favorite kind of storage building / room?! how do you do yours?? 😋
Would be really nice to see him make an auto-storage system. Would also be nice to see him go get some shulker boxes. Don't know how he's survived this long without shulkers.
@@theravyneffect3610 I hardly ever use shulkers, maybe 1 for Redstone stuff because with a Redstone build you just never know what you'll need and it's easier to just carry everything.
Pixlriffs had a cool storage system in empires season 2. The building he has now in his current season is beautiful as well. I like putting the blocks in the ground to see what is where instead of using item frames. I can’t make my storage areas too big or I just make a chest and dump it at the door. Lol
so valid on that chest at the door thing 😭 i used to do the same thing so i have since banned temporary drop off chests. they just become forever unsorted messes 😭
@@wattlesplaysyes and then I keep opening the random chests over and over to find the thing I keep looking at. 😂 my current storage building is not that big but I can find things easily. You should do a water feature as the water in the cherry grove biome is so beautiful.
Being from Metro Detroit, the Motorcity isn't short on warehouses and industrial zones. So my usual go-to for a storage building is the classic warehouse on a river or in a bay. With the triangular skylights, and massive doors. It's always very organized, with multiple levels of storage usually 1-2 stories tall stored on racks and marked with item frames.
I know you've already set your design (and have most likely already recorded the construction), but I really would have liked seeing you build a massive storage building into the side of the cliff below your base. With huge caves, each devoted to a different subset of resources (wood, stone, ores, etc.). Being able to just leap off the top of the edge and onto a massive porch built onto the cliff, using ladders and water elevators to get up and down, and even using minecarts to move items from the surface to the caves down below. Plus, huge stained glass windows in the side of cliff = gorgeous sight). You do have that massive fjord, why not do more with it than just a single bridge? ^__^
I'd say that, despite you seeming to worry pretty heavily about how informationally packed this episode was, it made me feel like I first felt when I started watching your channel. Then, the look back at Storage Cathedral really brought back a feeling of nostalgia, which was nice. To top everything off, the information you gave was amazing. It wasn't just watching an extremely knowledgeable Minecrafter, it was watching someone who has made mistakes in the past and figured ways to fix it. I'd have never thought about how the alcoves affect the storage building's flow and how running into dips into the wall would be so frustrating, but now I'll keep it in mind for the next time I build a storage room. Tips like this, seeing as a ton of the stuff you'd normally go over you have already done so in previous seasons or episodes, really helps enhance the series. It's not just go here do this, it's go here do this and *avoid* this because it makes for a not-so-smooth playing experience. Actually, funnily enough it was the same for this world's starter house. You don't have to build anything crazy, it just has to be somewhere you can lay your head at night and be safe if you get stuck outside when mobs are around. These sorts of tips you bring are what I love about your channel and why I am subscribed to you!
I think my favorite storage building is your storage cathedral. The colluseum is great, and it's one of my favorite buildings, but it was too big, lol. I need my stuff a little closer!
I think the absolute favorite of my storage building builds is currently tied between my current build carved into the side of a mountain and my last world storage which was an under water "barn" shape with silos for specifics and auto sorting. The barn was made out of glass.
I forgot where I seen it but my favorite storage building was using the create mod and the arm Grabbers things to automate and completely sort all of the items that you would put into it. It was really cool
Thoughts on shaders. I think what you did a few episodes ago was great doing the build without them but doing your outros and maybe intros with them is great. It feels more vanilla and makes it feel like your just a normal guy playing minecraft to inform us not like another 100 days TH-camr . Either way I love your vids and everyone should subscribe because you deserve it 👍
My favorite storage build ended up being one I made a while ago. I had a badlands base and went with an old western kinda aesthetic for my base, and the storage building was designed to look like a barn! It was the first time I ever built that large, and I used a lot of calcite and copper for it - it looked great!
Bro, 1.15 guide series "Grand Storage Building" with the glass dome roof! that one was the business! also, I soooo miss the intro music from that season... the vibes, so chill!
6:50 I wonder what color yellow is to you. My favorite color is blue. Yellow is kind of eh to me. But, everyone sees colors differently. My blue could be your yellow. We both actually like "blue", but your brain associates yellow what I perceive blue.
LOVED this video Wattles! I thought the mix of shaders and not was PERFECT! Captures the Vanilla feel and then shows off your beautiful work making it even more impressive when the shaders come on. And what a treat to see your old worlds with the shaders!!! I love the jungle base but I have a special place in my heart for season 2! I was so new to Minecraft when I found that series and I followed along and learned so much from you. To this day so much of my Minecraft play comes back to your vibes, suggestions and progressions in that series. I know you have advanced big time since then but for an early or mid-level player it was such perfect content! Can’t wait to see this storage building come to life - I know it will be epic! 😊
This is perfect ❤️ I love how you set up the trips back in time and what you liked and disliked about each storage building. I loved seeing the worlds again and how you go about your projects. Another banger of an episode, can’t wait for what’s next with it!
Just started a new world, Really miss our old vault. Yer it was a storage system auto sorter had about 215 slots by the end of the world. With auto sorter auto furnace which then resorted. Storage silo for stone cobble stone etc. o and the catacombs for any overflow. We never dumped anything so this took anything that was overs or not sortable. As well as a few other functions. In short we wanted to upgrade it. It took us a few weeks to decide as half of it would be taken down n rebuilt. So we just decided to start again. Really miss it tho get bk after cave or adventure n just dump your bag. Not like now the amount of random chests we have... We are a bit away from it ATM tho. Great content as always it's a thumbs up from me! Thanks.
I would of put it over the gorge. the thought of someone just coming along and clipping the ropes that suspend it, letting all the stuff you've collected plummet into the abiss!
I built my first auto-sort storage. One side used a water elevator, and the other a redstone dropper elevator. I realized in it's size and scope you have to remember to put the correct items on each side. So making this is no different than remembering what chests to simply put it in. So I made a hybrid. Input on top, retrieval to the bottom. Top level has an input chest that connects to a locked hopper, to a free-flow system below. Put the wrong item in a chest and it doesn't go through. But connecting hoppers between chests makes it so your items always flow down if it's the correctly added item. So retrieval to the bottom. I was also thinking of using a comparator at or near the top to tell me when a section is full via redstone lamp. Just a creative thought. 😁
Minecraft block palette is also a super useful website resource. I’ll screenshot some and then put the blocks together in game and walk around it a few times. Then get halfway through my project, change my mind, and start all over. U know. Regular Minecraft building stuff.
So I love Bluenerds castle storage build, being underground and multiple levels. I also love MythicalSausages storage rooms. I definitely use ImpulseSV's storage sorting system in my own worlds though.
😃 Been wondering when you were gonna get around to this build! It's almost always the 2nd or 3rd thing I build. Otherwise, I hate to admit, I get chest monsters around my base too quickly! So here's my shouted out "THANK YOU!" for this episode! I personally Really like to listen to you as you explain what all you consider going into builds. I tend to forget simple things when I'm in the mode & rarely plan things out ahead of time. Then I'm crabby later because I didn’t consider it should have been built closer, easier to access, etc. Looking forward to Part 2! 😁
I'm surprised you haven't done any builds that that are built down into the sides of the... fjord, I think it's called? That would look great imo, especially when you are at the bridge.
Yes please do replant the cherry trees. Otherwise it won't look like a cherry grove anymore lol random floating grass block above the cherry trees 21:43 top right of the screen 21:56 bottom middle of the screen 22:01
As far as fave storage builds of course your Colosseum & Cathedral. But I Really got a kick out of Scar's system on Hermitcraft Season 9. His theme park Scarland has the Main Street from Disney, so he built shops up & down the road then used a handful of them for storage. It was very clever & unique. (The automation of it was a ghastly nightmare he struggled with Frequently tho so I'd ixnay that part. 😉)
The best storage building I ever saw was an underground storage building. to store stuff the person didn't have to enter it. There was a chest above ground which fed down to an auto sorter. They also had a shulker box loader to get stuff out. A little too complex for me to make but It was my favorite. Of yours I like the Cathedral and Colosseum. In the world before my current world I tried to build a castle on the face of a mountain and it was supposed to have a main entrance seen by the nearby village and a "secret" entrance through the mountain but the mountain wasn't as wide as I thought. I also suck a building and the castle became more like a monastery. So it became my storage building with the four towers being the storage rooms with different specialties and in the case of the ore room I have a couple of smelters to get iron and gold from smelted tools.
Dont forget to always incorporate wool into your builds. Automatic sheep shearing farm is so easy to make and scale up to get tons of building blocks. You could make it into carpet or use it for a ceiling or even just so accents to the walls. You definitely don't want the entire build to be wool bc its so easy to burn... If you're a shameless duper you can dupe the carpet too lol😅
Will you do an collecting system that will take the materials from the farms and sending them to the storage room? I know it is little expensive but since you have iron farm all good to go
Sorting… do you manually sort everything in between episodes? That’s always the part that becomes a mess with my storage builds. I start with themed chests and get more and more specific over time (stones, then specific stone types, then specific block etc). But sorting everything out of my inventory is always such a pain… how do you manage that part of things?
The one I designed is very overkill but awesome. Automatically crafting all but one chest full of craftable items (like iron) into blocks while constantly keep that chest full. Then I have crafters that take the overflow of commonly used items like redstone or stone feed into furnaces and other crafters to make chests full of things like repeaters, compatriots, books again with overflow protection with it all running back into a master storage/ sorting system it all runs off one input chest that you can manually feed onto and and connect farms to. It’s stupidly expensive to build and unnecessarily over complicated with the auto crafted items being customized to my play style because I didn’t feel like making auto crafters for every item in the game. The storage won’t even store every item but It does have the majority with a unsorted chest
Listen, I don’t commit or ever like videos I watch. The reason I’m drawn to you as a created is because of the technical details you talk about while still mailing it fun to watch. I also love all you builds. I understand you have a wide variety of viewers but I personally love your videos on building the most solely because I see you are a great builder and I want to become a builder similar to you. I know you’re a busy dude and probably don’t have time for any of what I have to say but I do just want you to know the amount of respect I have for you. I tend to keep to myself and other than my brother trying to make it big as a Minecraft TH-camr (cocoly is his user name) but other than him, I don’t commit, I don’t like…. Other than on your videos so I hope you understand how much you truly mean to this community

An auto sorting storage building would be really cool. But that’s no ordinary project. One might call something like that, a mega build!
Pewdiepie has a great auto sorter build in MC in black and red Japanese build style! 🎉
Agree an auto storage system would be sick it would be a massive project but what if you used your new allays and used their mechanics to auto-sort.
Would be really nice to see him make an auto-storage system. Would also be nice to see him go get some shulker boxes. Don't know how he's survived this long without shulkers.

Pix's use of autosorting is as inspirational as his builds! And the item in the floor below the corresponding chest is so helpful to my brain.
