What does it mean when the video say California state regulations require that a fault code is set before replacing an oxygen sensor?

The Bosch sensor I bought needs to be wired, and I have to somehow use a portion of the existing wiring. I was hoping this video would cover that.

The sensor I am aware of needing to be spliced is the universal sensors to which the link to the installation video is below.

Do every single bosch sensor come with thread compound on it? I bought upstream and downstream sensors for my honda and only one of them has the thread compound on it

What's the big deal about replacing it Before it fails ?
What's wrong with replacing it when I see there is a problem, ie: when it has failed ?
Also, I don't understand what you mean : calif regulations require that a fault code is set before replacing an O2 sensor.
    Please explain those 2 things.

Hello, my honda car has a dense mark on the sensors but I bought a bosch brand oxygen sensor for now it is working but the only thing is that my sensor is broadband and oscillates differently from normal oxygen sensors.
I don't know if I trust this brand although I have read that it is very good like the original, since Bosch is also a bit expensive. If anyone has used oxygen sensors of this brand, tell me if they are reliable.

Does Bosch make equivalent O2 sensor to Denso 234-5178 and 234-4988?

Hello. Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, Bosch does not make an O2 sensor that is equivalent to these two sensors.

When changing exhaust, what type of anti seize should be used to reinstall the used O2 sensor?

@@BoschAutoNA thank you. I have a similar question when removing and reinstalling spark plugs.

Hi Scott. Thanks for reaching out. All of our parts come with anti-seize but if the part has been installed and removed some more needs to be added, most auto parts store carry a small packet at the counters, but we use high temp copper based anti-seize - No Silicone it can cause the sensor to go bad.

Your best course of action is to contact a regional office in your area as we are only able to address these issues within our Bosch North America region. Please visit spr.ly/6055GMxOJ for local assistance to find the Bosch office in yor region.
