the actor playing Davos does an excellent job a couple of episodes forward from here when he finds out what happened to Shireen. The confrontation with him and the red woman was gut wrenching.

Between seasons 5 and 6 Gwendoline Christie was shooting her scenes in Star Wars 7. That’s why she was running a little late in coming to Sansa’s rescue
I love that when the Knight pledges service to the Lord or Lady, the Lord or Lady also pledges to "require no service of you that will bring you dishonor." I've never heard that kind of reciprocal pledge in any other story. I find it very moving.
I never hated Theon. He made one bad choice, and like it so often happens in life, that bad choice lead down a road of troubles, pain, regret and often, death, if not bodily, then in spirit. Theon is like many of us in life.
Think about that the girl Ramsey fed to the hounds, was the daughter of the head dogmaster. So the father had to see his daughter fed to the dogs he keeps. Ramsey is messed up!
DORNE was filmed in Spain and Northern Island. BEYOND THE WALL was filmed in Northern Island and Iceland. KING'S LANDING was Croatia. and Malta. ESSOS was Morocco, Iceland, Croatia, Spain and Malta.
Gotta give you credit Amber for collecting many respectful subscribers *not posting spoilers* Also, GOT once inspired the largest organized weekly college drinking game -- *"take a shot for each and every nudity and decapitation scene"*
Kings Landing / The Red Keep was filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia. I spent 2 long weekends there. Amazing place. Part of the tourist traditions is to walk the entire perimeter of the wall of the castle. I did it on both weekends while on leave from NATO deployment in Bosnia in 2004.
If you think about it, out of all the gods in in this setting, The Lord of Light actually makes his presence known. That magical necklace Melisandre wears grants her to appear and act as a younger woman. Back in season 2 I believe, Thoros is granted the blessing in raising Dondarrion from the dead multiple times.
Davos is my absolute favourite, so loving and kind and realistic and righteous, love that man. So glad you're enjoying the show, if enjoying's the right word! 🫶
Oddly enough, I was thinking only today that Ser Davos Seaworth is one of my favourite GoT characters! (But there are so many that are right up there too - Jon, Arya, Brienne, Pod, Gendry, Sansa, Theon and Tyrion!) Loving your reactions, Amber ... and loving a double drop, thank you!
Septa Unella is played by the amazing Hannah Waddington. If you get around to watching "Ted Lasso" (a deeply funny, touching, feel-good series that you would undoubtedly love), Hannah displays some incredible dramatic and comedic acting chops in one of the series leading roles.
You were talking about locations and where things were filmed. So, the scene where Jorah finds Dany's ring? That's in Northern Ireland. I had to look it up because it reminded me a lot of photos I've seen of Scotland, but as far as I knew the closest they'd gotten to filming in Scotland was NI. Sure enough. Same sort of land though. Ireland and Great Britain (which is the big island that Scotland and England are on) are both basically made of dead volcanoes. The rocks look it.
That part when she reveals her true self reminds me of when Palpatine reveals his true face to Anakin the book Revenge of the Sith. Knowing he did it deliberatley, unmasking hinself using the lightning as a fake cause while fighting Mace Windu, totally selling that Windu was causing it/killing him and made Anakin do what he did. And then afterwards standing before the mirror saying to himself, "I shall miss ol' Palpatine. But, he has served his purpose." Revealing that once he released that mask there was no going back. Darth Sidious had been revealed. And Anakin didnt even catch on to it, notnrealizing he had just been manipulated into committing murder of the leader of the Jedi Council. Now, he was literally in a deal w the devil. This scene and what happen to Jon Snow bcuz of her abilities is just crazy similar.
Such as Gollum in Lord of the Rings, Melisandre aka The Red Woman, is equally loathsome. But much like Gollum/Smeagol, she has an important role in future events yet to come into play. Worship of the Lord of Light was not common in Westeros, so she had to wear the enchanted necklace and conceal her real identity. No one knows her real age, which could be anywhere from 100 - 400 years old...
In this episode there's an incongruence with established lore. Varys says to Tyrion that 'Mhysa' was Valyrian for mother. However back in S4 IIRC Missendei told Dany, native speaker of Valyrian, that 'Mhysa' was Old Ghiscari for mother. We learned about the ancient city of Ghis in the histories and lore vids.
It hurts so much because they're SUPPOSED to be the heroes, not killed off callously. Ned Stark is supposed to be the hero who rides in and helps his king, Robb Stark is supposed to be the brave son who avenges his father, and Jon Snow is supposed to be the bastard who rises above his station to save everyone. But George RR Martin doesn't believe that stories are that simple.
For many viewers of GOT, much of it was what book based we got to see on the screen. (Book vs TV show or movie.) The best way to get some of that lore is with the excellent animated tales read by GOT actors.
You’ll have to do the 2 seasons of House of the Dragons after this series Amber! They are also releasing another spin off to this universe soon - A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Which comes out in June
So glad you named Ser Davos as one of your favourites. He's my absolute favourite and I feel he often gets overlooked. Amazing character
Davos is a quality person and was probably many people's favorite, even more so given he loved Shereen far more than her own parents did!
Davos, Bron and Pod are all top tier

Unfortunately, the show never explored the reason why he would know Jon's dead.

Yeah it was
Brienne of Tarth is a total bad ass. Also Theon goes through a crazy character arc.

I'd never accept a pledge from someone who has failed in their previous pledges so utterly, as did Brienne

Love rewatching these episodes with u Amber... with your sadness, smiles, laugh and beauty 🥰😊🥰😊
HERE WE GO 🎉🎉🎉 Amber you are the best with knocking out these seasons and movies ❤ so proud of you and I enjoy each and every one ❤
Davos evolved so much especially in later seasons.
DORNE was filmed in Spain and Northern Island. BEYOND THE WALL was filmed in Northern Island and Iceland. KING'S LANDING was Croatia. and Malta. ESSOS was Morocco, Iceland, Croatia, Spain and Malta.
Cersei's face when she saw that coffin was the only time I ever felt sorry for her. Lena Heady ate that scene up.
So true
"brienne is the captain america of GOT"
me: holy crap that's accurate
Tyrion is definitely the Tony Stark

Season 6 is the best season of the show. ❤
Chucky and the Bride of Chucky 😂😂😂😂

This is one of my favorite episodes

Well said about Brienne. :)
I call Brienne of Tarth the Calvary. Remember that when you meet a strong woman. Do not underestimate our strength.❤
