    • @joec2221
      @joec2221 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Berdy hit the ball, it bounced, Rafa returned it then the umpire called Berdy’s shot out. Replay showed it was in.
      What should happen next: since the call came after Rafa hit it, if he missed the shot then he would lose the point. If he made the shot, they’d replay the point. In this case, his shot landed in, so it should be a replay.
      What happened: the umpire awarded the point to Berdy because “the call came after your (Rafa’s) shot”, and didn’t take into account the fact that Rafa‘a shot was in.

    Can someone explain to me why Rafa lost that point to Berdych

    • @hamadhabib-98
      @hamadhabib-98 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Because he stopped the ball. The umpire made it complicated when he called it out. He shouldve just let rafa challenge and then there wouldn't be any argument. Its an umpire mistake

    • @JimKirk1
      @JimKirk1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nadal ended the point by challenging, which basically means that the only result now is someone's gotta lose it. It's about the same as a ball being called in or out by a linesman on a winner, for instance, and someone challenges. The point has been ended and the challenge is only contesting who wins the point.

    • @hamadhabib-98
      @hamadhabib-98 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      But the argument here is that the umpire called it out late after nadal stops the point. Normally, if someone stops the point and challenges(nadal in this instance) and it is in, he loses the point instantly. On the other hand, if the umpire calls out and the other player (berdych in this instance) challenges and it is in, they replay the point. But in this case, its a mesh of the two, where nadal stops the point and then the umpire calls out. He shouldve just let nadal challenge and then that is it. Its the umpires mistake for making it complicated.

      Probably not on court, but I saw a clip where he smashed like a lot of them behind the scenes. (can't remember where it's from) I think maybe idk Thiem is doing good, he only smashed a racket like twice. I think everyone does it.

    These are “THE CHAMPIONS “ 🤣🤣🤣 blaming the racquet because you lose a point, is like blame the food because you eat to much and makes you fat😂😂😂 that’s why There won’t be any other champion like Pete Sampras.

    In Rafas case, he stopped to Challenge anyway. So it was the right decision to give the point to berdych.

    Hate this video, makes Becker look like he was the one getting angry out of nothing when it was they would steal points oit of nothing: saying his serves touched the net, calling obvious shots in as out, etc.
    Sampras has this tantrums as well, and sometimes more.

    Nadal was wrong during the Finals 2010 against Berdych. He stopped playing before Bernardes called the ball out so he had to lose the point.

    • @bibek6713

      Nope the umpire called it out
      And berdych challenged
      Rafa put the ball in
      The point should have been replayed

      @@rodrigor3208 i get you like the guy and everything but he was deadass wrong here, he stopped the ball clearly and challanged, the fact that Carlos called it out afterwards is irrevelant, the only thing that matters is that he stopped the ball to chellenge, just admit it dude, Nadal can definately be a very sore loser, it's a fact

      @@milanpavlovic2426 brother I actually like the whole big 3 having Nole as my favorite. Honestly I hadn't noticed that part thanks for explaining.
      But the chair umpire is the authority on court he called out everything changed and thats pretty clear and after that things just dont add up
      All members from big 3 are bad losers buddy thats why they win so much

    Rafa stopped the point and challenged. BEFORE the umpire had a chance to call the ball out. Ball was confirmed in - Rafa loses point.

    • @tom0176devo
      @tom0176devo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nope incorrect, he didn't challenge, umpire stopped the point at the same time Rafa went to challenge, so it was Berdych who actually challenged. Should've been replayed

    • @VilleMetsola
      @VilleMetsola 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tom0176devo No, Rafa stopped and challenged before the ump did. So what the ump did afterwards didn't matter. Ball was confirmed in, Rafa stopped playing and challenged - thus he lost the point.

    • @Edkey
      @Edkey 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@VilleMetsola Nop, the action of the referee does matters on this case. You can hear him say "Thomas Berdych is challenging the call". If it's Berdych who callenged, then Rafa cannot lose the point. What we can agree on is that Bernardes made a mess out of it, if he didn't THEN in that case of course Rafa should have lost the point
