      no mention on 2 cylinder deactivation on vw or skoda.. it really increses mileage by 25-30% and gives close to diesel.. especially after 4000-5000km .. i see the diesel variants give same mileage on highways.. and other petrol variants give 5-6 kmpl less..

    For me, Elevate is quiet good as compared to its competitor. It is most mature car in the segment and its engine is much reliable. Just went for test drive of it, the car shoes decent pick up and if you are updown is on highways and cities, for sure, Elevate is best.

      Honda = Reliability We always had Honda Accord > Civic > City and now booked elevate. But unfortunately we have been downgrading our car because Honda is discontinuing higher segments. Clearly would have bought CRV, instead of elevate if it existed.

      well elevate is really good.. if you compare with kausaq 1.5 dsg.. elevate gives mileage of 14-15 at speeds of 90-100 while kausaq gives around 19-20 because of 2 cylinder deactivation technology.. what's more.. elevate is powerful at 119 bhp and 142 nm torque but kausaq is not .. at just 148 bhp and 250 nm of torque.. elevate wins with slow overtakes and when on hills with 5 people and luggage it will give you high engine sounds too .. and struggle to pull itself.. that is what makes it really attractive.. well the na engines run upto 10 lakh kms.. which is normal .. while kausaq turbo just has life of 5 lakh kms..

      Elevate has problem in back seats with three people. Seltos doesn't.

  • @shashank511
    @shashank511 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    Good comparison. Few things where I differ and some points to note.
    1. Taigun/Kushaq bonnet are visible if the seat is set on higher side. Its not like they are completely invisible.
    2. Taigun/Kushaq now do come with powered seat both are driver and co-driver
    3. DSG gearbox takes some time to downshift in D mode. In S they are fast. actually in S engine prioritises higher RPM so lag never comes. Have driven my Taigun on Ooty and Munnar ghat sections, in Ooty even with 5 people, never had to downshift using paddle shifter. Left it in S, it was seamless.
    4. Seltos I think has the best interior here, even the quality is very high. New turbo engine is very powerful but kick is slightly lacking. Taigun/Kushaq interior is okish, plastic quality is good, but yes, mostly its plastic. I compromised on it to favor driving experience, engine, and safety.
    5. Astor interior is also almost close to Seltos but it has some essential feature misses. But i think Astor basically has 0 USP now.
    6. Maruti/Toyota 1.5NA is very poor, best for city only, and for folks who want just point A to B travel. It just gives up on acceleration after 80. Haven't driven one in Grand Vitara, but know from Brezza and that's a lighter car.
    7. Hybrid I have test driven once, initial pickup is very good, but then it flattens out. I dont think with that power 0-100 is possible under 10s. No way. Honda hybrid though I haven't driven looks like generate way more torque and slightly more power in City and could have been brought with Elevate
    8. Koreans headlight are bad. I think they do cost cutting there since people dont do direct comparison on that. My father's Verna, and one of his friend with 1st gen Creta despite having projector had bad headlights.
    ** I am a Taigun owner

      @@shashank511bro 90% of buyers opt for 1L engine and that's where Rohit is spot on, ac is quite weak. Had to keep it at 19. Whereas drove Elevate and Nexon where at 25°, they are chilling

    • @shashank511
      @shashank511 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SuyashKaul well, if the car is chilling at 25, i think something is wrong with climate sensor. It should not chill at 25 degree.
      See 1L AC is average, it is not weak. Lack of power below 1500RPM in 1L engine is the cause of AC not upto the mark. Since it doesn't get enough power, it takes long time for the unit to cool the car.
      VW group have worked on softwares with updates and have rectified the issue to some extent. Many owners have confirmed that, as I am part of multiple VW groups on FB.
      Again I am saying its average at best, but it gets the job done. In my original message i did mentioned that, i bought it for engine, drivability, and safety, not for AC or features.

    After taking test drive of both Elevate and seltos back to back in All seating positions the Elevate's second row middle passenger comfort is way better than seltos cause even though there is shoulder room (5mm wider) in seltos the cushioning in the middle where the arm rest is placed is very hard and it makes the centre passenger very uncomfortable as you won't even feel the cushion and this is where the Elevate Excels. And the Suspension of the elevate is the best in this segment way better than the Koreans. That's why I bought the Elevate over seltos. Also keep in mind that even though these cars are said to be 5 seaters all are comfortable only when 4 people are seated. Period.

    I have test driven Grand Vitara 1.5L petrol manual , same engine variant engine of creta and elevate , I have felt that its low end pickup is much better than other cars like creta and even elevate, and even on highway run it never felt underpowered though power figures are not quite impressive but in real world driving performance it does the job quite well. Its actually better than 1.5NA on the creta and its low end pickup is better than even elevate. Also mileage is really impressive and the mild hybrid variants are priced well so it makes up for a great urban SUV as suspension also good which is balanced neither too stiff nor too soft and handles bad roads pretty well and stability is also good. But I really want suzuki to please bring a new design for their key fob. Creta was too bouncy and soft in ride, Elevate has good ride quality with balanced suspension but mileage in elevate is issue

    It's probably the best car to me from every aspect; the looks, interior, features, build quality, etc...
    Among all the cars, I'm going to select Astor.
    And the mileage, it was greater than my expectation... I always try to keep my rpm below 1.5 and get 17 to 18 in mild city traffic, and even got 22 on the highway. This is the 1.5 l CVT engine.
    And the tuning is also very good, you can't hear most of the noises from outside, not even of the engine until you rev hard...
    And the turbo petrol is like a rocket, with a nice pickup...

I have to keep the seat belts applied which not only looks bad but also make the passengers less likely to use them. Also I wonder how much did maruti save from not putting weight sensors at the rear seats. Rest of the things are very good in the car, I get around 20-22 on highways at around 90-100kmph which is good for a NA engine IMO.
