    My favorite Col. Sanders thing was - and this is so weird - he made an appearance of What's My Line and when celebrities show up they blindfold the players so they won't immediately know, but when the colonel comes in in his white suit, signs in as Colonel Harland Sanders and sits down, no one is blindfolded and they haven't the slightest clue who he is. The most WTF thing I've seen on youtube in quite awhile.

      @ValensBellator 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@magnum_cx8805 not sure where you went but plain corn flakes/Cheerios etc shouldn’t cost more than the sugar variety lol
      It’s true about the sugar, though I will say I was surprised at just how much sugar I come across in Europe as compared to 20+ years ago. Also, European chocolate is crazy loaded with sugar, whereas we (perhaps weirdly given our obsession with it) prefer darker chocolate.
      The real problem with sugar here is they put it in breads and other things you might not expect it. Throw in soda drinkers where a single soda is often about a full day’s allotment of sugar, and I’m not surprised we have a diabetes crisis on our hands.

    He didn't wear the suit to promote KFC as their mascot, he wore it because he was proud of being named a Kentucky Colonel (Who wear white suits with black string ties by tradition). The governor and secretary of state have to recognize you for doing an immense service to the state as a whole and it is the highest honor they can bestow upon someone in that state. Basically, he wore the suit because his state saw him as a hero and he wanted to live up to that image for them. Sorry, just felt that needed to be clarified x3

The original recipe would take more then 30 minutes to prepare, must be prepare on site, with only a dozen fried chicken as a batch(the cooker would never fit more, and the oil would soak up flavor and have to be replaced after serveal used), and the simply version modern KFC used could able to stored offsite, and allow to be fully cooked in less then 5 minutes.

    I live in the United States, and I have to agree the food here is terrible. A lot of substances which are illegal to put in food in most countries, due to health issues they cause, are legal to use here. There have been increases in stomach cancer and digestive issues after many places started using chlorine to sanitize water and when a pesticide which makes insects' stomachs explode started to be used on corn. As somebody with a relatively low income, I eat a lot of fast food and stuff which I know is full of fat, sugar, and cholesterol because I can't afford to eat real food every day. I also mostly drink soda because the tap water tastes like pool water and burns going down, and soda is cheaper than non-chlorinated water.

    • @curlyfryactual
      @curlyfryactual 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Neil B exactly, the American stereotype of British food is that it's bland and boring. American style food is often a fusion of British, Spanish, South American, and Italian foods, though original "American cuisine" IS British. No one else cares to have a stereotype-in other words, everyone that cares thinks British food is bad.
      Sure, there's way more shit quality food than high quality food in America, but where the hell is that not true?
      As for the teeth thing, where's your evidence? That stereotype comes from British actors.

    • @AnsticePalo
      @AnsticePalo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Aero
      The whole terrible British teeth thing is purely the work of Hollywood being the slimy, rapey, child molesting fucks they've always been. Why? Well here in the US, so many people have been brainwashed by Hollywood that having your teeth bleached to look like the sun dried bones of a skeleton found in the Las Vegas desert is normal. Meanwhile outside of Hollywood, nobody really cares if your teeth look normal, or have some gaps, or happen to be a little crooked. It's a fine example of why people should be reminded that in Rome and Greece actors were considered equal to or lower than prostitutes. Judging by how they behave today, can you really say you would trust a Hollywood actor over a hooker? Sure she might try to steal your wallet, but at least you know what you were getting in to when picking her up.

    During the 70’s the Secret Spices, came in a Foil Envelope, that you mixed with the dry batter, that was in a bag. Only so many pounds of chicken was fried in a pressure fryer, then it was dumped the Fryer throughly Cleaned, dried and new oil used. Pizza Hut was the same way, the Spices were in a Foil Envelope, we would run the Tomatoes through two hand mills, added tomato paste, then the spices. The dough was made from scratch, with yeast, a tiny bit of sugar, flour and oil. The cheese was sliced. Worked at a Pizza Hut, with Kentucky Fried next door, we would trade food.
