Good luck everyone !, no matter what there’s always other options, but you won’t even need to consider other options because you’ll smash it and do amazing !!!
GCSEs do matter if you are going to study dentistry or medicine, which is what i want to do. Universities look at ur gcse grades thus i need grades above 6/7 in order to persue dentistry in the future
This isn’t really right - I’m a medical student at imperial college. I’ve done a video with admission staff that you can go watch on the channel, as part of the video they state ‘we do not look at GCSE grades during the admissions process’. It’s also well known that the most that medical schools use the GCSEs are your English language and maths which should be above 5/6. Everything else isn’t relevant - you’ll see that there are farrr more important hurdles to pass in the application process (PS, BMAT, MMI). Please don’t worry guys! 🫡
@@AkshiKumarthat is still wrong some universities do weight GCSEs more heavily like Bristol or Oxford they 100% look beyond English language and maths.
So for medicine this definitely isn’t true - and for other degrees it’s also really small. English language and maths are the main ones but it’s absolutely not the most important hurdle and you can easily overcome bad GCSEs with a good interview/admissions exam/personal statement. But we were really mainly talking about medicine or dentistry.
i failed everything other than h&sc, english lit and english lang. i escaped shakespeare but i still gotta redo triangles and figure out why my x left 😭
I need to get an 8 or a 9 for maths in order to do further maths a level. I revised so much for maths and was on a high 8 from my mocks but the exam stress got to me and I made so many silly mistakes which could have been avoided if I was as calm as I was when revising and now my mind is starting to play around with me thinking I've got a 7. Do you have any advice on how to stay calm and be confident for results day because just thinking about it makes me sick.
At this point there’s no use in worrying and if it’s helpful I felt EXACTLY the same way. Worried I made so many errors only for me to do as well as I expected. You always think about what went wrong and forget about all the marks you got so back yourself man! 👑
Hey Akshi! I’m a year 10 student going into year 11. I’m hoping to go to Cambridge, Imperial or St. Andrew’s for either Physics or Mathematics. My only worry for next year is that, for the life of me, I cannot seem to get more than 7 for English language and literature, but I’m already at grade 9 levels for most other subjects. I’m Indian and recently moved to England, so that’s one downside. Do you think those 2 grades (assuming ill get 7’s for both and the rest 9s, and get my a level grades as I need) will down my chances for imperial? Thanks!
Imperial basically do not look at GCSEs so you’re good ha but regardless even if they did those are amazing grades which would be more than good enough. Have a look at the video I did where I spoke to the admissions team - they talk a lot about this!
@@AkshiKumar thanks so much for this reassurance! I’ve honestly panicked so much for English and I still will do everything I can to scrape 8/9, but it’s relieving to see that. Thanks!

At least at Imperial, I know they don't do this for medicine so I'm not sure where you've read this? GCSEs are really not that important for university as I said so don't worry! 😤

Obviously, im not AkshiKumar but seen as you've used Year 11 so effectively as exam papers are one of the best ways to revise inshallah you are very likely to get many 8s and 9s. 🏆 Don't stress.
So right after I get my GCSEs would it be wise to go to my enrolment day on the same day? And if it is could I change my a level subjects on enrolment day?
@saadmehmood777 Alhamdulilah when i look back at year 11, i have to say that it was a really good year. I did countless examination papers every day and got my teachers to mark them and because of my consistent sheer hard work throughout year 11, i won the "John Archer award for endeavour" at the year 11 celebration evening and maths award for doing countless examination papers. I got the John Archer award for endeavour because i was committed to my studies and worked really hard. Does that inshallah mean that i am likely to get those higher grades? like 7s, 8s, and 9s. I pray everyday that it inshallah happens
From what I've read, sounds like you've really worked hard man! You have my belief, I'm sure you are gonna smash it - sit back and try to relax. All we can do is pray - I'm hoping you do brilliant. 😤
@AkshiKumar Sorry i also forgot to mention on the endeavour award that i got it also said. "There is no one more deserving of this endeavour award than this student. We have rarely seen anyone so commited, hard working and dedicated to his own studies. We have also rarely seen anyone so hard on themselves. This amazing student stayed behind afterschool everyday and was here first thing in the morning. He regulary asked for extra work to do in bought in countless examination papers in to be checked and to get feedback".Who knows this may be a sign that i have done well in my GCSE'S? in'shallah i hope it is.I have spent all my holidays praying that i succeed in my examination results because i want to make my parents proud.
@AkshiKumar During the exam season, i used to study 1 hr 30 minutes in the morning in school.I used to get to school at 7 o clock.I used to study with my friend at break and lunch and after-school i used to study until i went to sleep.I did so many exam papers in year 11.
