Unfortunately, it's not good enough to just show a smoker the filth that builds up on everything that cigarette smoke touches. It's an addiction and as such, it overrides reason and sanity. I say this as someone who smoked for many years and spent many hours scrubbing that stuff off of and out of everything I owned. I finally quit but only because I couldn't afford to keep buying them. Of course now many years after quitting, I'm still having problems with my lungs. Which I knew was going to happen all along.
I totally get where you are coming from - And yep I too was subject to trying to clean out my grandads car once and - Here I'm thinking of what and how they're lungs must look - Wow that poor VCR ---
I had a PAL Panasonic VCR which worked but would have no right side channel sound when playing in HIFI. Repair tech was going to charge me nearly $200.
hi 12voltvids. i love your videos, i recently fixed a crappy old panasonic pv gs29 w/ some help from your videos. Disassembling it was a pain in the butt, but your videos especially came in clutch regarding the tape mechanism that was stuck, and i got it back together & working with ease. The only other issue I want to ask (if you have a method) is how to clean my heads using the fingernail method with a side-loading mechanism. i insert tapes from the side instead of the top side and I can't reach the heads from the top unless I can somehow make my fingers through some little cracks and crevices, and was wondering if it's worth just buying a cleaning tape and using that instead. thank you
And I can definitely tell the Audio quality on this camera compared to the usual one you use - This camera you sound a bit more muffled... Like as if you were in a studio ...
That's a candidate for a sonic cleaner okay, so you're going to have to do your best on this one Dave. Not good love the old camera equipment, fantastic gear.
Knowing you Dave, so if you wanted that phone bad enough, You COULD use a chain saw or a Saws All to cut the wall out. I mean, you did say that the house was going under the dozer's blade, right? This way, you could work on the lock on your own time.
Interesting. To me, the audio seemed muffled (like when my eardrums need popped) when using that capture device. Not that bad, but it has less dynamic range. But I enjoyed the video anyway.
That was the microphone not the capture device. I had a lavaleer mic on and it was too high up on my shirt. They need to be placed lower but I would be banging it with my hands or hitting it on the bench.
I'm probably one of the few that still likes to record on a VCR -And Yes I still do...
Tape rules! If only we could persuade the broadcasters to re-embrace Quads like the Ampex AVR1, or very rare (helical) IVC 9000. Sorry Dave.
We've proven nicotine to be a good insulator!!! Yukky.

The picture looks good to me. It does look a little softer but it's still very good.

Lol I'm sure Big Clive has a similar reaction mentally, but on the outside he's... Well Big Clive.

Thats because I was using a lav clipped to my shirt. Normally I use the camera mic which is directly over my head.
Excellent so it is

I try to fire the old gear up from time to time to make sure it stull works.
