The Hymn of the Blessing is chanted between the Raising of Incense (Matins) and the Liturgy, while the priest blesses the tunics for the deacons and himself. It is also prayed on the Night of the Apocalypse (Bright Saturday), just before the reading of the Book of Revelation.
The hymn focuses on worshiping all three Persons of the Holy Trinity and then leads to the Paralex, Shere Maria, which glorifies St. Mary.
In Fasting Days (Weekdays), the hymn of Apinav-shopi is chanted instead.
