The kisuke and dondochaka scene was relevant because they had to show why kisuke wasn't present at the quilge fight, plus the one of the main reasons for Ichigo going to hueco mundo was to save dondochaka, for the chojiro funeral scene someone pointed out that they were probably trying to hide the fact that chojiro has a bankai, which byakuya mentions in his eulogy, chojiro will get a dedicated extended scene during yamamoto's flashback, the episode is a solid 8/10 considering we got new uryu content that actually impacts the story.
1)You don't need to show Kisuke saving Dondachokka that can be mentioned later or shown when Kisuke sneak attacks Quilge, there is literally an entire page dedicated in the manga to explain why Kisuke isn't helping against Quilge. Kisuke has in the past been seen not helping and no one questioned where he was FKT for example. 2)They've already revealed he had a bankai when Chojiro says they can take Bankai with his dying breath. Chojiro was the only notable person of rank who died, none of who died would have a bankai aside from him. Earlier Yamamoto says "that's Chojiros" and is cut off. They aren't hiding the Bankai. If they did they would've changed his dying dialogue. Yes we will get Chojiros flashback as its in the manga but there is no evidence for extended scenes. Especially seeing as Taguchi has already sped through the heavy moments already so the flashback will be short due to Adapting 4 chapters and Kubo saying there's something to look forward to with Yama and Yhwach. So likely that will be cut down too.
Ep 4 is out and thats terrible too. Its so fast. There is no time to feel for any of the characters, any of the moments. I cant believe how many of the big youtubers are just shilling. They are terrified of their audience. No one is honest. In ep 4, we got 4 minutes of recap...ridiculous.
Them Including kisuke and pesche is to wrap up the whole reason they went to hueco mundo. Any anime only person who reacted to episode 3 was already asking where ichogo was when Quilge was doing his stuff so him being on the sideline longer doesn't make sense
I liked ep.3, the " fast pace" is good and bad. I thibk when we say, kubo is overseeing it. Is to quell the " panic" some have in the cut scenes. We got that flash back with him which was FAR better to be placed in. Wait and see
All these guys needs to take their rose tinted glasses off, i think the whole "Kubo is supervising everything" is a PR, a simple marketing to attract people, that the whole thing is at safe hands under author influence. Im not saying he isn't even touching it, but like you say, he's influence isn't probably that wide as people think it is. I will wait for the rest of the episodes, but i don't like the direction of this anime, i think this whole Taguchi guy really don't capture the whole "Bleach" thing. Botched content aside, the color filter on the HM and Wandenreich was really painfull to watch after a while, and the rose-grey flashbacks are not very pleasing to look at. The cut stuff is jarring, how can you make sacrifice so many scenes on the show, not only comedic ones which i can actually understand why they get rid of some stuff like that, but they start cutting world building content that was actually interesting. I don't only care about the main cast, the power of Bleach lies in these side characters. For example, seeing Ayon being concerned for the girls was actually kind of surprising, he isn't mindless beast as we thought he is, and anime just didn't even show that scene, we get straight to the action. Was placing a few seconds scene that painful or what? The Myuda scene could be shortened, because i understand that the absence of Ichigo was kinda weird, but they should show SunSun using the technique. Another case of some kind of worldbuilding was evident when we see shinigami's notice Yhwach already inside of shakonmaku, that foreshadows where the whole "Wandenreich" is. The VC meeting could be rearranged, or they could do the same thing they did in the first episode, when they wonder who is responsible for the spirits disappearence the Mayuri is explaining it with the scenes intersect. Some of these characters really not get that much screentime, especially Kira, why not give tham at least that. There is more minor things, like the boot scene etc. As im all for the more Uryuu, he's whole segment could be squeezed to one scene, it really didn't reveal anything crucial. And we wasted time on two identical scenes of searching the book... I'll be honest, i didn't even focus on the animation that much because for the whole episode i was absolutely shocked which ever scene, how many fine scenes, dialogues and stuff overall was left out. Im well aware that not every episode need to have some sakuga, movie quality animation in it, it's fine as long as at least the art is good, and it was pretty good this episode, mostly characters stayed in model and the more important one(that they didn't cut) were actually some wallpaper material. The onyl thing i will complain, that the sklaverai on Ayon should look better, they just go the lazy route on his scenes overall, but this particular was really badly done. PS. I watched a few reactions, mostly anime onlys and some people didn't even remember Ayon, these guys are the one that tells you that everything in the episodes is fine and your are overreacting and whining too much. Do you comprehend this? People who say that cut stuff was not important, i don't think they are real fans... i don't know who they are.
One thing that really stuck out to me is the overabundance of "anime humour" in the show. You have so many "funny" scenes in the first episodes that aren't funny but simply are around for the sake of existing, then it snap cuts to a funeral scene immediately like what am I, the viewer, supposed to feel? It's all over the place, the show has no clue what it wants to be.
Tbh I think episode 3 was a necessary sacrifice for the upcoming episodes which will be the first invasion which is the bread and butter of the arc. But I agree episode 3 wasn't the best, but it was OK. At the end of the day I'm just glad bleach has returned.

This video was more for the people claiming "This is the superior Canon cuz Kubo is supervising" or "Everything that was cut and everything that wasn't is necessary and 100% Kubo's decision". The issues of this episode are exacerbated by how well Ep.5 and 6 are paced woth Ep.5 carrying the same amount of content if notice than Ep.3 Also if the pacing of something is terrible it can absolutely ruin something so stop pretending that if something only has 1 problem that the thing isn't very bad because its just 1 thing when Pacing effects multiple things.
You people will defend it because of this amazing animation who cares I rather they kept old animation no cut content give us same amount of episodes as old show this animation is killing the show
They cut out a lot of needless shit but there were some scenes I feel needed to be adapted that could have speed up the pacing a little more simply because despite all the cut shit, it still feels slow. I remembered the Ichigo vs Kirge fight being far more engaging but in the anime it was so boring. Way too many infodumbs. My MAL review is on he top thanks to the "bullies" B). Bruh the manga was fast paced so they tryna give us that feeling we had when we were reading it. Two the really cut fluff the LT meeting wasnt that deep the eulogy being cut kinda bothered me but they can repurpose the scene as a flash back . Three they maybe could of lingered on ayon gettin killed a little longer but other than that the quirge fight wasnt cut that bad. We wanna see the first invasion id rather the slow down then and letting certain fights breathe then anything that would of been shown in episode 3 . Epsiode 3 did its job got us from point c to point E it was ever only to supposed to move the plot forward . It was a soild B
The first invasion was fast. The second invasion and pre invasion were not. They cut down the Quilge fight a lot. They cut out Ayond caring for the Tres Bestias and other important stuff. There is no slowing down They are Adapting 4 to 5 chapters an episode so they can finish in 50 episodes there's no slowing down. Why does everyone keep saying this. They literally cannot slow down
