Nice to see you picked up this topic. Sounds silly to watch a video for sizing, but certainly helps a lot of people, especially for solo loop bands. A person buying an apple watch for the first time will definitely watch this.
Even the sport loops are meant to be looped from the top. In my Nike sport loop manual sheet, there is a small label that says: “For a more secure fit during water sports, attach the folded side of the band to the top of the watch is shown in the illustration.” I also do find they fit better with the loop on top. It makes a difference.
Wow! So glad I came across this because this is totally me and having a similar debate with my new Trail Loop! Just recently upgraded to the Hermes U2 from the Hermes S5 SB! We have similar wrists sizes that can go back n forth. It's amazing how there are similar people out there in similar situations. Like you, I prefer the s/m fits because I don't like the extra either! I also feel like the M/L sports bands I sweat a little more and the s/m has better breathing. The Apple Store isn't close to me anymore like it used to be, so I can't simply try them on, so I have to base stuff on history. Thankfully, I do have a good tape measure at home but didn't use until recently. lol. However, I went based on previous history and got the s/m trail loop. I love it outside the fact it's a minor struggle (similar to yours) to get on off but it feels so good! I kind of want to exchange it but I worry that I'll have all that extra and won't feel as comfy or breathable but like the idea of getting it off/on easier. Otherwise, it's great! I typically wear the s/m sport loops too! Just don't like that extra going up and thus having a thicker band essentially. Sweat a little more too.
Il tuo polso è 17.5 cm non 18.5 com’è invece il mio. Ma fai troppa fatica con il S/M a infilarlo nella mano, quindi credo che la mia misura di trial loop sia M/L.
I picked up the Trail Loop size S/M because I tried it on in the store and initially I thought hmmm this is too tight because it was a little tight getting over my hand but once on my wrist it fit great and had less slack material to deal with. After using it at home for a day I've been thinking of returning it and getting the larger size. For reference, my wrist measures 160mm. But after hearing your take about maybe less slack material is a good trade off to the tight fit getting it on I'm having second thoughts about returning. Also thinking that it will stretch over time like my OG sport loop did. So... maybe I'll stick with the S/M after all 🤷♂
really helpful video. currently having S8 with the smaller size sport band and use only the first 2 hole. Looking for a trail loop but not sure which size to go with. I tried the alpine s/m but need to clench my fist to fit in
mine (175)mm What I understood from this video is that if I buy any of them, it will fit me, but I think that if I want to buy rubber whether sports or Nike, it is preferable to buy size S/M because I will not have to put it in the last hole and it will not accept any extra strap. correct!???!😂😂😂😂😂😅plz answer😢
Great guide, very well done and for sure helpful. (how did your finals go?). Vis-à-vis the BSL and SL, I’ve lost weight I presume and 4 of my 7 BSLs are now too large (size 9), so I went with a size 7 for BSL, and size 8 for SL. It’s a mess with all these sizes. #YMMV Thanks.
Everything you measured is off by 1cm - the marking below the number is for the number. So at 3:12 it is 19cm and not 20cm. If you go by your measuring logic, the starting mark will be 1cm already and not 0cm. Please make an effort to update so we don't pass wrong information to viewers. Thanks @thejuan&only
Hi, your wrist size is exactly like my size. Would you regret getting the s/m size, or do you wish if you get the M/L size instead? I am in between both. Advice, please.

Apple purposefully doesn't tell you band width. (They say things like, compatible with the 49mm down to the 31mm. That's also case width, which they purposefully don't yell you.) Apple doesn't want you using their 99 dollar way overpriced band with other watches or buying knockoffs.

Genuinely helpful. I already bought my trail loop, but you confirmed I picked the right size. Thank you!
I punched in 'what size apple watch should I order,' you popped up right on top & you were on point & thorough. Helpful, thx

Small / Medium definitely looks better on your wrist in my opinion.
Anche se fa molta fatica a infilarlo nella mano? 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Your wrirst measures 175 mm and not 185 mm !
Exactly!!!

The Nike Sport band (the one with tithe holes) give you three parts. There is a small part and a long part. Quite useful!

I'm looking to but the M/L Blue Gray Trail Loop. If anyone's selling on ebay, please let me know. I can't find it here in Brazil
what is the size for 3rd hole equivalent for se2 sport band?
it should be on the original sport band hole to make it easier to choose
Is this band can fit series 9?
Super helpful!!
Thanks, it was very helpful 👍🏻
Super helpful vid!!!!
I used a rubber band cut in the center; a metal ruler; then I fed the data into GPT which recommended the correct size I needed.
Ahhh you got me with the new iPod touch. (: April fools

I really like how you’re doing a sizing guide fjfjfjf (rip the small mexico band I got you)
Lmao you do know its still at my place right? On the bookcase lol
@@TheJuanOnly yes I do fjfjjf, I keep all my prized possessions with you so I don’t loose them.
your wrist measures 17.25cm, and I think it was 5th grade math and I can see not everyone (ahem you) passed. 😄😜
I have fake apple watch, but i am buying real watch bands for it.
Backwards bands.
