    I had an involved day, got out of my wheelchair, rode my bike(first time in 13 years), went to 2 different churches(Sunday here on GUAM, saw my (I hope) new GF at 1st Church), got a bike for my 8 yo neighbor kid, he was EXTREMELY, we rode together to the 2nd church, got back home and he helped me do all kinds of stuff (chores) as it was getting dark I started feeling the soreness in my out of shape legs and I saw your "notification" popup and realized the video was so relaxing, that it was a perfect conclusion to a really GREAT DAY !
    Thanx for that Mark !

    Hello from SW Washington state. Yes, I very much enjoyed this video. I love Lake Tahoe. I always wonder how those boulders got there. Looks like the First Nation people used those boulder as grinding stones when the lake was much lower and not able to drain into the Truckee river. Well, still no signs of Tahoe Tessie.😂🙋‍♂️🏍💨

    • @mokpot

    I used to go diving there back in the mid seventies. It's hard to believe how much the visibility has changed since then. The water was crystal clear and there wasn't any algae on the rocks at all. Every nook and cranny in the rocks was crawling with huge crawdads and we always had them for dinner every time we went there. Thanks for all your great videos.

    I have cousins who live up at Lake Tahoe. We used to visit every summer and spent a lot of time at the various beaches. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure you’re the diver that we met one day. I remember asking if you did ever find much. We chatted awhile and I remember it clearly because it’s the only time I ever met a scuba diver. It might have been Pope Beach. . . I wish I could remember, but that’s one of the beaches we went to a lot.

    • @mokpot
      @mokpot  ปีที่แล้ว

      @mokpot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do feel blessed to live where I do. However, "near" it a relative term. Is 2.5 hours drive considered near? It is hard for me to remain objective.

      You are preaching to the choir...I live in Vermont...nothing is near anything and if it looks close on the map there is usually a mountain between here and there. Hence the Vt saying...."you can't get there from here". I hope it is at least a nice drive.

      Hello Mike, Clear water diving is a special thing! If I remember correctly, water is 800 more dense than air, so sound wave are transferred easily, which is why it is so difficult to determine which direction it come from.

      May I suggest a golden foeggey reach claw?
      Mine is Smith & Nephew Roivan A665-008
      It used to be my job for 22 years to clean out a festival wishing well.
      As I got older it got harder to squawt & bend plus multiple spider bites. This claw, my father's extra one was given to me by my mom. It works wonders on dimes, pennies, nickles, quarters, half-dollars, & larger coins, cans, ect.
      It's half light wieght aluminum with sturdy plastic componants, & a ribbed rubber tip.
      If I had a cnc machine or even a 3D printer, I'd be temped to make stronger componants for this.
      But its really not necessary.

    what are rules for boaters/swimmers/etc when they see your dive flag? do you think it helps? just wondering :)

    • @mokpot
      @mokpot  ปีที่แล้ว

      In general for boaters and jet-skis the flag is a good place to practice high speed turns... 😬 in open water a boat is supposed to stay 300ft./90 meters away. In navigation channels and inlets, 100 feet/30 meters. But in truth many, if not most boaters have no idea what the flag means.

    Mark is this line attached to the divers flag a new law? That is dangerous and could cause diver entanglement. I would display the flag on the surface as required by law but just attach a weight on the end of the rope and drop it . Its pretty apparent who ever the dumb ass that came up with this law is not a diver. How are they going to know you do or not have it attached? Just tell them hey was hanging out at the bottom of the lake that is the reason it was not moving . What happens if some drunk dude in a boat hits that son of bit ## and you are tied to it ? Oh hell no take off the string dude dont want anything to happen to you. That would suck man

    • @mikehurricane5767
      @mikehurricane5767 ปีที่แล้ว

      That law is in every place I have ever dove . Started in Florida in the early 1970's . Not perfect , but does help .

    • @madmanmechanic8847
      @madmanmechanic8847 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikehurricane5767 When I got my cert my instructor never said anything about dragging around a tube with a flag and even in my dive book there is nothing about it. How ever I do agree with the federal law about displaying a dive flag while diving but I have never in my life seen or heard of a diver dragging around a flag with a string on it . Hey lets go dive a wreck ok let me spool out 250 foot of string because Federal law states I have to tow around a tube with a flag on it. That way when I go down into the wreck I will get tangled up and stuck and die in the wreck ! Sorry but they can kiss my A ## I am not dragging around a string and tube . Just amazes how brain dead people are that come up with these laws. Look how quick Mark got tangled up in the rocks . And dont forget about the durnk dude in the Baja 75 miles an hour that hits your tube @ If the string holds you are going for one hell of a ride !

    • @mokpot
      @mokpot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree towing a flag can be an entanglement hazard, I believe the State of Nevada regulations are that a diver must remain within 100 feet of the flag. Since our dive plan was to cover about 700 feet (in one direction) it was necessary to tow it. It is widely known that citations are frequently written to divers who do not use or, properly use a flag on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.
