I'm hearing the 4am opening meeting is postponed until the 29th November, as other areas want in on the 4am action. As for the footy, they raised 600 million but are 1 billion baht short on the price and are asking FIFA to to take less, which does not bode well.
There is a lot of opposition to it from anti alcohol and religious groups. They seem to think haggling with fifa is like buying a pair of sandals at a Thai market and that fifa will settle for some money versus none. Won't happen because then other countries will see it worked and ask for discounts.
Great coming to Pattaya for the world cup and now will have to watch 2 of the 3 England games in my hotel 🏨 . Does Thailand really want tourists because they are not making it easy for them .

This is bizarre behaviour from the Thai govt, so many are arriving with the aim of watching the games in the fantastic atmosphere provided by the abundant nightlife. I wouldn't like to say they change like the wind. I would imagine the meeting is for this to become law by 1st Dec but you never know they might surprise us. I am sure that some places will open but it is tricky because they will get mobbed especially for England games.

Hi Nick. The Tunnel looks like a great new club. However, I am with you, I really don't like hip hop and especially rap. So the Tunnel isn't for me. But it is great seeing Walking street alive and kicking again. The pie looked reasonable, there was plenty of meat in it, but the crust did look a little underdone. Shame about the World cup. It looks like it isn't going to happen now, and with the city putting the decision back to the end of the month it's kinda bollocked up your plans. Sorry about that. Just got back from an average 3 weeks in Patts. Couldnt believe the bars/clubs/ggs were still closing at 2am (I thought everything was going to be back to normal), it kind of spoiled it a bit for me - hoardes of people stumbling around LK and Buakhao in darkness just after 2am when the night had just got going - just didnt feel right....though I had originally planned to go for the World Cup and brought it forward, kind of glad I did now.
I agree. It’s a bit difficult trying to accept that what is supposed to be the party centre of Asia closes at 2am. It will never fully recover until they take their blinkers off. It’s spoiled the WC for many.
I agree but the problem now is social media busy bodies contacting police which they have to act on. In past times the police didn't bother but when it is put out there on social media they have to be seen to be acting upon it.
