I'm a veteran rider, the back of my vest says Marines with a giant EGA. Never had an issue, I have spoken to a few MCs I see or meet on the road... #1 rule I use is respect. And that goes a long way. I have even been offer to "stop by" and I always thank them for the invite, but politely decline. Never an issue, and always hey open invite... alot of people don't realize that some MC were started after WW2 by veterans to maintain that brotherhood and to let off some steam. To me, the open road, and the wind in your face is what freedom truly is. Good information

After WWII is exactly where it started but most sprung up after Vietnam I believe because of the way they were treated when returning home a lot of those Soldiers and Marines felt alienated so that was the only family they knew and I think that’s where the outlaw part comes into play too with the drugs and stuff that mentality was passed down from those guys not really giving a shit what anyone else thought.

      I truly love these videos.
The comments are priceless, and probably very necessary to some people who otherwise wouldn’t know better.
In the 40+ years I’ve been riding, I’ve never had any issue with any MC club or member, and in my younger days, my travels and lifestyle had me in close proximity to many of them.
It’s really simple to me, and perhaps my instructs taught me what I think many folks need to be educated on.
I in no way, shape, or form ever rode/ride looking like I am emulating or imitating any MC member…I don’t wear a cut, I wear a blank leather jacket (or mesh in the summer), I have no markings on me whatsoever (besides my tattoos, which are hidden whilst I ride, none of which could be mistakes for MC content).
What seems no-brained to me I believe gets lost on some.
I get the “I do what I want and don’t follow anyone’s rules” attitude. I’ve managed to go my whole life with zero run-ins with MC members.
It’s painfully simple…don’t cause trouble, be polite but not overly-friendly, show respect, and don’t run around trying to look like an extra from Sons of Anarchy if you’re not in an MC.
As a rider of decades who has never been affiliated with anyone, while all you tough guys who hold 1%-era in disdain are whining about how you’ll do what you want, I’m laughing at you as you wear cuts, matching patches, and try to look and act like that which you claim to not like.
This is why you’re getting your cuts taken away and getting talked to at best, and getting your ass stomped at worst.
      Much respect, Sose.

I removed the patch immediately saying I had no idea. the guys invited me to go to a kind of club house and explained everything to me and everything turned out well. your video is excellent and people really need to know and pay attention to how they do things. I agree with you never underestimate anyone but it's not about that individual it's about club to club. The one percent club is usually a lot bigger than your 99% clubs and even if both clubs had the exact same amount of members right down to the prospects it still comes to whether or not it could start a war between the two clubs and let's face it that wouldn't end well for the 99% club. That's why it's best to have the blessing of the dominant club in the area so things like that are less likely to happen.

One of the biggest things I've learned, being in the MC life is that if it ain't in your heart, it shouldn't be on your back. If it's on your back, and it's in your heart, then you'll die before you let it get disrespected, let alone taken.
Getting the patch is hard. Keeping it is harder. Easiest way to tell a motorcyclist from a biker:
The motorcyclist will be willing to live for his patch and his club. The biker will be willing to die for them.

When I was riding with Southern Cruisers Riding Club (not an mc), we were given the ok from the confederation of clubs, as long as we followed specific rules. No rockers, at all. Rc, not mc. Never refer to any patches as a cut, or colors. For the years I rode with them, we followed the rules, gave respect, and didn't have any issues. We also avoided confrontation, cause we were just riding, not lifestyle.

I used to wear a patch. We went through all the stuff with coalition and dominant club etc. Ended up disbanding because there simply wasnt enough of us left healthy enough to do it anymore. Some good folks up north adopted our charter and patch, been growing nicely ever since which makes me very happy. Never had any problems. I ride clean now because I ride all over the country, sometimes to other countries. To each their own, I have no desire to deal with the potential drama or the patience.

Thanks for educating people on the 1% culture. People can make innocent mistakes due to ignorance. I made a mistake like this when I started riding 20 years ago. The Hell's Angels President, of the chapter in the area I was in, questioned me about the vest with patches I was wearing. I designed my vest from what I saw in biker culture, not knowing the protocols and 1% culture. I explained that, he realized I had no clue, but I was respectful of him, so he was respectful of me. I apologized for not knowing the deal, and I told him I wouldn't wear the vest. I later met up with him, showed him proof I had taken the patches off the vest and we were good. I wish I had known the deal then, a video like this can help people learn the culture before making a mistake like the one I made.

I like to think we don’t have problems because CVMA has been around for quite awhile nationally and we stay in our lane so to speak lol It goes without saying if you ride, whether you have 1piece patch, no patch, whatever the case may be, when it comes to being face to face with an MC, respect goes a long way, those guys are in a totally different ball game. Me and a mate had been riding one day,got home and went up to the pub in the car with my vest still on - blank vest - no patchs. Couple of 1% approched and asked if we had ridden our bikes to the pub which we hadnt, anyway 1% wanted my vest. I stood up to him respectfully and told him I would remove the vest and go and put it in the car, the guy I was with knew a few full members of the 1% and it was agreed that the vest got put in the car. Unfortunately the veterans started acting like 1 percenters.. and putting other prohibited patches under cuts along with their veteran stuff.. the worst part was they were acting like they were a 1% club and bars and stuff...WELL they got called out and got all their cuts taken... Prohibited from wearing cuts with symbols on them ever again... Their cuts got tossed into the bonfire! ..

State rockers are interesting thing. In my state I have seen 7 different dominat 1% clubs wearing the same State rocker. This alone tells me no one club controls a state.
Also have seen many LEMC & MMC wearing State rockers. From my humble perspective it's a dead issue. The main reason being is dominants are not going around ripping the cuts off of the LEMC. I keep a picture on my phone I took at a bike night of a couple LEMC, for simple fact whenever I am approached by anyone about what I am wearing, I pull out my phone show the picture and say, "go and take there vest before coming after mine"
Every supposed justification for the dominates playing patch police is an irrelevant argument. That is if your supposed to be a club and not a gang. Like I always say, if you look like a hooker walk like a hooker talk like a hooker and act like a hooker you're not the Virgin Mary.
Dominant clubs do not get to have it both ways. No body can, it's a fact of life. One does not get the option of crying foul when the government comes after the patch, then the same club goes around ripping vest of of others.
Why your show, FHO, Black Dragon and Insane Throttle are awesome is that your sharing the inside baseball knowledge for those that are not from the streets. I respect what your doing.
Then again I am a veteran, buried a few friends who made the ultimate sacrifice. Regardless of what anyone says we have earned it more than others. Those like me we just don't care what a dominant says.
My bike is fully insured, awesome healthcare coverage and even better life insurance. Worst they can do is kill me. That would just be really Gangster.
    Much respect,👊

I actually have a personal story. Lemme preface by saying these are the only people allowed to tell me to take my cut off.
So this was my first time at my MCs doninate's club house. I was originally supposed to ride up with my MC but I personally got the meet up address mixed up with the clubhouse address. Pulled up and these guys dont know me, therefore dont trust me(which I respected) as I was waiting for the rest of my MC to show up I sat outside their clubhouse and one of the officers told me to take my cut off until they verify who I am. Once the pres of that MC came out(at the same time my club showed up) he pulled me aside, told me to put my cut on and asked me why I joined an MC to begin with.
My pres wasnt all the way happy that I took my cut off but out of respect for the relationship created by our original members with our dominate club I made a quick judgement call not to start unnecessary drama.
Now saying that I will say this. Any outside of our dominate, doesnt matter the relationship, is gonna have to rip my colors of my cold dead body. I will not disrespect our dominate but weve been an established MC for the past decade. Meaning you have no reason to even attempt to disrespect me or my club in anyway and I'm not gonna back down just because you have that Diamond or wanna try and be hard.

Now the question I have is, over been told wearing a cut with band patches (for example Black Label Society patches) that other clubs , wether it be a 99% or a 1 % club would take great offense to a person wearing it while riding. Why question would be....why? What is so offensive about it when it's just a band? I understand it's a 3 piece patch set but it is after all just a band and not a MC.

Worked at a Harley dealer when I was younger. Members of a dominate club worked there with me. More members of that dominate club were always on the property. There was one mechanic working in the back that road with a different club. Not an enemy club but a club different then the dominate club. One of his homies rolled up at lunch time rocking his cut and some of the dominates there hanging out slapped him up and took it from him. We hot-wired his bike for him cause his only key was in the pocket of the cut.. Story don’t end there..
President of the dominate club beat the ever living piss out of the dudes that took the cut and made a scene at his place of employment. Still remember seeing the one dude the next day and he had a bruise from the bottom of his chin to the top of his head. Dude straight got knocked the fuck out..

Hey I am old as dirt. I am no walk in the park when it comes to defending myself, anyone who knows me will tell you I fear no one. I survived combat, cancer, multiple wreaks, Been special forces, held two world titles in no holds barred fighting. But I didn't get this old from being stupid. I belonged to a 99% club at one time. We had lots of members so we where always together. But one day while on the way to a club activity I was alone and the local 1%ers pulled me over and ask for my cut. I know I could have said no and would have had no problem surviving the two guys asking but I also knew there was a lot more where they came from and I am not bullet proof. So I gave it up to them. I found out where their club house was and went there and got a audience with the president and we talked for at least an hour. When it was all said and done he said because I showed heart and respect during this meeting and he had our grouped scoped he ended up giving me his blessings for the rest of the group and I got my cut back. I fill it had a lot to do with the fact two of his family where SF during the time I was and they knew me I feel they gave a good word to him. For all those who think they are bad asses, well you cant stop bullets. I am old because I am smart. You need the blessing or roll the dice. This man speaks nothing but truth here so listen and learn or learn the hard way. I will respect this mans words for they ring nothing but truth.

6 yrs ago before i met my wife. i reached out and made a decision to go nomad i didnt have a home going theough a nasty divorce anyway. We made it simple and respected sets by letting them know we were coming through occasionally we were invited in to crash but most the time we'd get buzzed by the locals till we got out of their area. But 9 out of 10 times i was in and out before they even knew i was there. Thats the simple about it.. but being me theyd have to cut my cut off my dead back. Always be respectful until you cant be.

A member of a local 99 club here in western NC saw a Black Pistons cutt on a fb yard sale site. So we contacted the local Outlaw chapter to see if they wanted us to act on it.
The VP told us to collect the cutt and bring it to him. So we made a non violent attempt to get the cutt from the saler. Turned out the cutt was purchased in a storage locker that belonged to the meber. The member was in federal prison and his gf stopped paying his storage and spending the $ she was sent to pay the bill on narcotics. The saler realized there would be retaliations he had already sold the cut but provided us with the buyer's information. Luckily we were able to retrieve the cutt and return it without incident.
Our goal as riders is to stop the violence and keep the negativity off the motorcycle culture in our state. As an ex 1% i try just like you to educate people on the culture and make sure they know the difference from a great television show based on the diary of a president of a chapter of 81s in northern California during the 80s and real life protocol if they were actually caught with the cutt and someone not so nice collected it. They would have delt with more than losing $25 they paid for cutt on line.
For the record I'm a musician. I'm not affiliated with any MC. I do know educating the younger bikers and keeping them out of trouble is important to me. Playing music at parties for all the MC's and learning about the infrastructures of the different original 1% clubs and there protocols are very interesting.

Used to be in a club back in the day, got out (was a small, "family" club) and just started riding again recently but naked. I gotta admit, a lot of the scene has changed over the past 10 years or so, but a lot remains the same. Show respect, and you'll be respected. Fortunately, when I was doing things involved with a patch, we were fairly close with the dominant in our area and all respected each other. No one ever had an issue unless it was female-related amongst themselves. Their business, not ours. It's been in my experience that, you really shouldn't even talk to a 1% guy unless he's talking to You. If they wanna talk to you, they will. Be respectful, watch your mouth and give no other information other than what's asked of you. Even now, without any kind of formal affiliation (just ride with a few close friends from way back, no claims) I still keep that same mindset. The unwritten rules of the road do exist, and it's not a place for this PC culture we live in. If you aren't prepared to have a gentleman's discussion, whichever way that has to be done, stay away from it. 🤙 ride safe and much respect to the content you're putting out!

That being said I have been on bike accidents and if they are wearing a vest their patch is on the ground and that is frowned upon as well. If I ever had to cut one I would do it on sides and not disturb back patch in any way.

All the OG clubs first started out on their own, no one asked permission or notified anyone else, when they started their clubs, and you see how that worked out, decades of violence and a world of hate towards each other, so they came up with the COC, a place where you can let your intentions be known, about opening a new club, some people call it asking permission, I see it as just letting your intentions know, gives you a chance to get ahead of any issues, and negotiate, get ahead of any violence, good show. Now you need to educate on the dangers of pop up clubs!! Chopper another good one, be safe out there.
