    Totally agree. The Bugout for sure belongs in the custom shop with it's popularity. I was initially excited for the orange mini, but after seeing some comparisons it just seems a little on the small side. They did make a limited edition Jade G10 version with 20CV that looks pretty cool. I'd like to at least see a standard production version with upgraded steel

    I'm aware that the scales are actually "Grivory". I hate that stuff just as much as FRN 😅

    Already got titanium scales for my mini bugout. Love it so much now! Even though the total cost with the scales is now pushing $200!

    The Bugout is a great option for summer light duty tasks. I put G10 on mine and it's still 2oz..

    I got an FRN equipped mini bugout and hated it and sold it. Got one in today with the flytanium ti scales... Game changer. Give it enough weight to feel quality and looks great.

      I 100% agree. Even a titanium backspacer changes the feel significantly. I love Rockscales stuff so I'm waiting for him to release his titanium scales for the mini. Titanium scales make it a lot more expensive, but makes it feel like an amazing knife.

    Funny to me that people can’t see that these are just opinions. You are not the only one we hear that from. A lot of people don’t seem to like frn.. I don’t mind if it has a liner or stronger than the original. It is an easy way for people to cut cost on knives. For limited income buyers like myself. I have used my griptilian as a hammer for years with little damage to the frn. Completely agree with the t6 .. need to be larger to be stronger. I buy new screws when I can. Agree that they should definitely add Bugout and bailout to the custom shop. They would sell even more. Surprised they don’t have metal handle options on the custom shop. The outs are too expensive for what they are. Why I don’t have one. I just make my own scales for fun and easy with a small shop. Love wood handles!

  • @CDS.26

    This is my favorite knife. Out of all the knives out there, even the really expensive ones, I would still rather have my Mini Bugout with some titanium scales.

  • @aznelite325

    The mini bugout is just too small for me, but even on the large one, I can’t stand the grivory either. And I definitely agree with you about these two being overpriced as well. The design is great but those two factors kill it for me.

    The bug out in G10 would be nice but they would then go up in price as it would probably be over 200. I really like the mini griptilian and have one but just can't understand why the bug out is so much when griptilian seems more of a knife and yet the griptilian is little cheaper.

    In wa state you can’t have a knife that will “fall open” with a push of a button or gravity. I’m not sure if knives like this and the compression lock “fall “ under that description???

    • @pattrass7692
      @pattrass7692 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oldcoinsandstuff1 yes Benchmade knives will fall open if you disengage the axis lock same with a compression lock. But a little secret is just tightening the pivot a little will stop the blade from dropping open

    • @pattrass7692
      @pattrass7692 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And also these are just stupid old laws that need to be updated and are likely not enforced unless you were using your knife as a weapon

  • @MayhemMechanic
    @MayhemMechanic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm right there with you on it being overpriced but I would take it a step further and suggest that the mini should be $80 and the full size should be $95 MAX. S30v is a good steel but the scale material just killed it and considering you can get Kershaw's in 20cv, still made in the USA, still a great warranty...... Benchmade needs to wake up. I would love a mini bug out but I will 1000% never under any circumstances buy one brand new solely based on the price

    I’m a huge bugout fan. I absolutely love the knife. I actually would really love a 3.5 inch version. I know a lot of people wanted a small version but I’m on the opposite end. I would like a larger version. I know I could get a bailout but I’m not a tanto fan.

    Awesome video! I’ve got my eye on one of these for a lighter edc but a mini grip under $100???? ...Kinda wanted the hogue Ritter over a griptilian so I’ll mull it over some more.. but it’s not like I’m ready to pull the trigger on either yet anyway lol

      @@metal_complex Yup, seems like they are opposed to making money, because they would sell like hot cakes under $120

    • @NaturalMystic69
      @NaturalMystic69 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah in the last decade or so Benchmade has made some changes to their pricing structure and for me they've priced themselves out of the market. There are enough good new knife manufacturers out there now offering much more for the same price. That said I'm really digging the Mini Bugout and am very tempted to buy the Stormtrooper version and get some Ti scales for them.

    • @darkcentury5676
      @darkcentury5676 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's nothing like the delica. The delivs now costs over 80 bucks, and for less than 40 dollars you get infinitely better steel, a far better locking mechanism, and better build quality. This is an objectively better knife

    It cost alot because this knife was just a scam knife.. looks like 100 under knife.. I didn't ever bought it because it was cheap made to make money only... I work in a molding facility and this company always try to make hype of cheap stuff to sell to make more money... if it cost that much they should have a QC to check crack and un even blade... I have to return some of there products because of poor quality of the price they want.. if you work with metal you know metal can't grow
