Fyi, KL Gateway got their own motorcycle parking, just go to the entrance of the main parking area, and u will see the motorcycle sign.

Nurulhuda Othman I'm not sure if they open the parking space at night, but I think it's open till night since there are offices that operates till late midnight in this building.
About safety, i can assure you, there are so many guards in the parking space, I see hot motorcycle like LC, Rs and superbike park there, so I assume the safety is good enough.

Hi mate, I am moving to KL next year and leaving my s1000r behind. :( I will get a new bike but havent decided what to get. Bikes are expensive in Malaysia. :( Hoping you can give some info how safe it is to park the bike for example in the center. Do you even have to worry if it gets stolen when you use the parking garage or the garage of the apartment building. In Amsterdam they do steal bikes from the apartment parking. Thanks

Bike safety is essential! Always add an extra lock to your bike, a disc brake lock + U lock or a chain lock should do the job. It is not uncommon for people to steal the disc brake calipers as well, so I would advise changing the Brake Calipers Mounting Bolts. As for the bike itself, it really depends on what type of bike you would prefer. If it is only for city commuting within KL (I would say anything bigger than a 500cc will be an overkill as you will pretty much spend most of the time in congestion). However, if you plan to ride around Malaysia and do tons of highway, then by all means, get whatever bike that you like. Just a heads up, the top speed limit in Malaysia is 110km/h.

Thanks. Yeah will drive around Malaysia. Maybe do track days as well. Thanks for the tip for the Calipers. That's absolutely crazy. But parking that has security i don't have to worry that the bike gets stolen right?

With security, the risk of getting stolen is minimized, however, I would still advise adding additional locks to it just for the peace of mind, as you are trying to deter opportunist type thieves. Alternatively, you can add a GPS tracker to it.
