Thank you for sharing your journey. I hope you are in better condition now? Where can I get Homeoblock or DNA in the UK please? Seb Lomas has no appointments for 7 months and Dr Imran no longer offers HB. I cannot find DNA anywhere 🙁
Hey, thanks for watching. Unfortunately I'm not doing better at the moment but I haven't found anything recently to be trying in the dental space - or at least not that I can justify the beyond crazy prices they all cost. I had a simple 'tanner' made but I am pretty sure they haven't made it right and I'm pretty fed up with paying for things like this to be honest so haven't found my best option to get another one made. I had no idea Dr Imran no longer provided the service - do you know why?? I was told at one stage that Dr John Roberts ( I think in Hudderfield ) was providing the service, but I couldn't confirm if that's right or not, might be worth a look though? Keep me posted if you do find out! Good luck!
I had the same problem with one tooth hurting that had the clasp on it. So my doc had a modified Homeoblock made that moved the clasp back one tooth, and no more pain. That's one solution to the clasp hurting a tooth.
Hey Stephen, just wanted to check in and see how everything has been in regards to your overall health. I’m dealing with some very similar issues. Have you been able to get back into the gym?
Thanks for the update, sorry that things didn’t go that well. Did they give you a refund? Would love to hear about the acrylic splint and how it effects you. This might have convinced me to start with the acrylic splint
Thanks for watching! No refund no, although when I did first start, they did say if it doesn't work they would create a different device that pushes your teeth forward at the front, to allow more space, but I don't think the results are as effective and it has other risks i.e loose teeth etc.. ( sorry I cannot remember the name of it, there are a few out there ) Unfortunately I started my treatment in the US and then switched to the UK too, so the US dentist is actually happy to try and adjust it for me still, but I think it would cost a lot, and the travel over there from the UK to NY is super pricey, but with covid etc travelling isn't so easy. So I can't really fault the dentist for it, when he is offering to take a look, if that makes any sense? lol I am still waiting to hear back about the acrylic splint as it's a specific one for sleeping in that keeps your jaw forward, which is the difficulty with sleeping devices. I think the UK dentist is supposed to be trying this out currently and then letting me know, although I am going to chase that up now, could be a good salutation for some people and much less intrusive ( and expensive )

Really appreciate this video - so useful Dr Belfor's office mentioned that there are 3 places in the UK that use the Homeoblock - 2 of them up north where I live: Townhall Dental in Brighouse and Cote Royd in Huddersfield Did you check both out and do you have any thoughts as to how they compare?
Hey, it's funny you should ask that, at the time when I started, Town Hall dental was the only place in the UK ( and my physio works along side him so recommended him for the treatment) . But before that, I tried some other dental routes ( as far as about 10 years before maybe ) and I used to go to Dr Jon Roberts for the treatment, which was Cote Royd! I have no idea that other places in the UK had started doing the treatment now though, that's great. How do they compare in price? And Yeah I used to like Cote Royd dental when I went :)
@@stephenhopkinson3080 Thanks for the reply. I'll get back to you on treatement prices - I left messages with both just yesterday! Hey, yeah, that's kind of how I got to the homeoblock :) I started PRI and similar things about.. god I hate to even think about how many years it has been now, but the physio thinks the bite issue is potentially the road block stopping me from being able to progress. It's definitely a tricky one! Have you been having much luck with PRI? it's pretty incredible stuff!

Hi. So glad i came across this, literally in the same boat, 7/8 years of issues. What are your next steps, visual? Tongue tie release? Let me know if you still use your Instagram I will Dm you on there mate
Thank you for the video Stephen. I have been using the Homeoblock for about 10 days now. How many hours did you wear the Homeoblock each day? The recommended amount is no more than 16.
Hey Jude. Hmm if i'm being completely honest I can't actually remember how many hours I was told to wear it for now as it was a little while ago, but i know the protocol was changing pretty consistently from other people. I think.. mine was 8-10 hours( don't quote me on that though) whilst sleeping and I had a different dental device to wear for a few hours through the day that was less important. how's your progress?
@@stephenhopkinson3080 I have just started my second month, I will make the second turn in a few days. You're right. The protocol is not exact for everyone. Now the recommendation seems to to be 10-16 hours per day. My doctor recommended two to three weeks. As for my case, three weeks specifically.
The adjustments really need to be made every 4-5 weeks. I am not sure why Hblock and DNA providers suggest patients adjust every 2 weeks. That is very risky and can tip teeth. Also - if you have a tongue tie, get it cut before you attempt any sort of oral device.
Yeah they seem to have been changing the adjustment period / time a lot and still playing around with it so it started getting confusing. I did have my tongue tie cut initially but it was very minor and healed back up. I was tempted to get a much deeper cut towards the end of the journey, when I wasn't getting results, but I started seeing there was actually some risky effects to having it cut too deep too, plus it was just getting ridiculously expensive and was another grand or so for the next cut, I was way too fed up by that stage.
Thanks for providing an update on your experience and sorry that it hasn't gone as planned! I'm ~3 months in and have expanded 1.5 mm (3 turns) with no problems so far and wear it on average probably around 10-12 hours a day. I have no way of knowing if the expansion I'm getting is actually skeletal or if my teeth are just tipping outwards, but I'll definitely heed the warnings you provided here and pay very close attention to whether any of my teeth are becoming loose. I haven't felt any sort of distinct pain, but I have felt on occasion a bit of extra pressure on the tooth you described as well as its counterpart on the opposite side of my mouth. It does feel like the appliance differentially pushes on those two teeth. Hopefully it won't cause me any similar problems to force me to stop its usage.
Very interesting thank you for sharing your experience so far! Definitely keep me posted throughout :) I know what you mean though, getting the movement / expansion was a hopeful feeling, but I could never help wondering if it was individual teeth moving or whether it was maxilla expansion, so at some stage, if you keep getting good results, a scan might be a really good way to know? Hopefully you are still managing pain free!
Hey mate, I am using the homeoblock and love it. Seeing unreal expansion. Your orthodontist told you one turn every 2 weeks? That is way too conservative and you will see such slow results. And obviously the slower the result the more difficult to stick with it. Most homeoblock practitioners recommend 1 turn a week. Personally I am turning it 4 times a day (1mm) and feels great. But I am having it in 24 hours. Just take it out to eat (twice a day) and sleep with it. If I could turn it 4 times a day you could easily turn it once or twice a day. Once your tooth feels better, should give it another crack, You could see rapid progress if you turn it at least a turn a day. Good luck
Holy wow that's incredible! Please be very careful turning it 4 x a day ( not that I can say anything, seeing as I didn't get good results lol ) but I am under the impression that bone remodelling is a very slow process. The problem I have was from potentially expanding too fast it started expanding by pushing the teeth out ( maybe) instead of working the way it was supposed to i.e it started moving the teeth independently of the maxilla unfortunately. Maybe one turn on my device was a little different to the one you have? I have been speaking to someone else with the device that can only turn it once every couple of months, and whilst that is quite extreme, 4 x a day does sound like a lot. My instructions came from Dr Belfor, who as far as I am aware is the creator of the homeoblock. But I know in the year ish time that I used the homeoblock, the protocol they advised did change throughout. So maybe they have changed it to 4 x a day now? But yes you also pointed out some good points there I was only wearing mine for sleeping (8 hours, sometimes I would wear it an extra hour or 2 after waking ) so maybe that's the reason why? I would love to be kept up to date on your results long term and when you come off the device if you are happy to keep me and everyone else updated? May I ask how old you are too? ( I am under the impression bone remodelling is quicker for younger people ) Also have you had a scan done since to show the expansion of the maxilla? Also how long into the treatment are you now?
