WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use TH-cams lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and TH-cam deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Gary, it's popular because it is stylish, cool, and trying to do something different. I have the green one and it's REALLY good.
I loved the look of the dial. Very striking and an original design, so I bought a green one on the rubber strap. It arrived 2 days ago and I like it even more on the metal. It looks great on the wrist. The dial has a sci-fi look and not like a toy at all. The quality looks great for the money. It really is fantastic . I want a blue one too now I've seen it. Maybe you don't like it because it is actually trying to do something different and really success in my eyes. I love it . And who cares about the name except a watch snob ? Berny is better than Phoibos, Helm, or Sugess or anything else really, so don't knock it because of that. Give it credit for it's original design, quality construction and great value and for actually trying to do something different.

I like your reviews and they really don't need the clickbaity titles. I think they would be better served by having the make and type of the watch in them somewhere. 👍

If they just loose the y at the end of the name they will have a brand that sounds quite masculine and Even a tad Swiss.
San Martin and Pagani Design both went with just initials symbol.

I think it’s a great try. At least they are trying instead of photocopying watches. Not that I mind photocopied watches. 😅
If you need to be "inspired" by the name of a watch brand, then there is a big void in your life. This is definitely one of my favourites.
I also noticed the plasticky look of the dial and it doesn't appeal to me. However, this is a very "playful or friendly" watch, and if that's what you're looking for, this might be right up your alley. The sales numbers seem to reflect that this design is filling a market desire.

Black/orange on the bracelet looks pretty decent. Never been a Berny fan but I like it.
It's a great watch. You should buy one. Berny it's a serious watch company and they have good quality models.
Decent price if it had an NH35 instead of an 8215. Pass for the Rdunae instead.
The branding doesn't matter to me - at least it's a business like font. It's not like I know what Panerai or Sony means phonetically in other languages

We seem to think that what we like, the rest of the world likes.just look at some of those gaudy invicta watches we all laugh at. They don’t keep making them because no one buys them, there are markets we don’t understand.
Maybe Africa or the Middle East. I don’t know, just using a probable guess.
This is an excellent observation. Watch styles go in and out of style just like clothes. Our tastes also change as we mature. Some styles reappear as "retro" models. Some styles, though, seem universally accepted and stand the test of time. No, the huge Invictas were never my thing, but they sold tons of them on HSN, cruise ships, Amazon, etc. To be fair, Invicta's 8926 sub homage with the Seiko NH35 is a very good watch. I've read and viewed several reviews and comparisons, and just like Casio's Duro, it's far more than the price suggests.
I really like the style of this watch as well as one or two others from Berny. However, I will not buy one because I don't want a watch with my brother's name on it. Don't get me wrong, I love my brother. I just don't want him thinking idolize him. 😂

I'm fine with the Berny name, put me in mind of Baltany or Bulova, maybe Berne in Switzerland? Much rather that than the San Martin hexagon ;)
I got their JLC-a-like in the same case with a fitted rubber strap. No complaints. Same spec, less grotesque.
I agree with you about the plastic look of the dial. Version 2 is my favorite of their compressor style model.
I think it's quite funky looking, I'd prefer it on a black silicone strap and although it's yet another diver that I really don't need I'll probably get it just because it stands out from the rest of my divers and homages and it's cheap!
Wonder if they could do GMT version of it? With rotating 24h bezel.
A screw down crown to rotate that bezel?? You’re supposed to do this underwater!!! Unscrewing the crown would let the water in!!!
You never adjust the bezel once you’re in the water

I kinda like how the dial looks. Not certain how I feel about the elapsed time feature, in terms of functionality, despite never really having any use for it on other watches. 😂
Berny is infinitely better than Tactical Frog, Feelnever and any of the other ridiculous names on Ali.
I think the green one looks better than the blue ,ok the "berny" is a bit crap but really for the money they are what they are. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.I can see why people would buy one just if I was spending £80/£100 on aliexpress I think I would shop around a bit for something that catches my eye.
That is a lot of watch for the bucks. I don't mind the branding, and the design is fun!

Is it a British thing that "Berny" is such a big issue? I don't actually mind the name all that much. I mean it's not the greatest name but it's not terrible either. I would be more put off by the name if it was like "Fluffy" or "Juicy" or "Happy" LOL!

You do realize that the ISO rating doesn't make or break a dive watch? Dive watches were invented DECADES before the ISO rating ever existed.
You do realise that most watches have an ISO rating of 22810 but there are additional tests done specifically for dive watches for them to achieve the 6425 rating. Some brands perform their own more stringent tests and provide their own approval like Rolex. You also won’t find a diver out there using a watch for diving that hasn’t passed the more stringent tests specific for dive watches…now you know…
@@ilikewatches Those ISO standards were introduced in 1990 and 1996 respectively. I rest my case. And what divers wear or don't wear was not mentioned in my OP. The vast majority of divers nowadays don't use dive watches at all, they use dive computers. Some of them might wear watches as backups or for merely sentimental reasons. Anyway, this is a budget watch that nobody will take diving - but it is still a dive watch, not a dress watch or whatever.

I'll be honest i love compressor style watches ... Got the RDUNAE when it came out and had i not just gotten the Phoibos Eagle Ray i probably would have picked this up.
It isn’t something I would lust after, but they are certainly a value for those wo do like the looks.
I looked at one of these in the sale but went with one of the new Redunae R3 BC compressor watches in PVD because of the NH35 movement rather than the Miyota. To be honest I preferred the design of the Berny because of the colours, but can't get past that movement in a modern watch.

Ordered one of those a few months ago. The bezel would backtrack when I screwed the crown back in. Had to do a bunch of haggling with Berny before they would replace it. Send it back to them at my own expense. They sent me a package back that never arrived. A typo in my address as entered into Aliexpress (that had never affected any of my deliveries before that) negated any recourse I could do. So, I'm out $180 (Canadian). The whole thing left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

This watch looks realy nice,i dont have one so i dont know if the quality is present or not...but berny have a lot of very good and afordable models..for liuck china microbrands offer a lot of very impressi e design for popular customer who cannot imagine buy luxury watch with more and more insane price...so very good berny

I like the colourways but not keen on a heavily polished bracelet and the hands appear just too short due to the fact that half disappears into the dial.

What you see on your dial everytime you look at it is important, doesn't matter if it's the name or an octopus it can be a deal breaker for me.
was not a similar Berny compressor style watch with a yellow/orange colour face reviewed by yourself some while back and to some acclaim if I remember rightly?
That one is much better, the dial is better on the other one.
Take those numbers with a pinch of salt. I ordered a Sugess a week ago that said there were 30 something in stock. Out of stock even though the listing is still showing 30 something. Maybe Berny doesn't play those games.

Overall I like the look of the watch, but your macro shots of the dial killed it for me. The stamped indices and BERNY text makes it a pass. However, I would probably wear one if I received it as a gift from a friend or family member. 😄

The "Berny" branding is a bit down market, but in the U.S. at least, this ironic down market branding has worked for some very high end companies like a very up market jeweler named "Fred". I don't mind the Berny name at all. I love all of my Berny's except one that I consider tossing in the poubelle every time I look at it. But the Berny tank watch is so beautiful it still gives me tingles. By the way, Berny is an acronym. Each letter stands for a word. I saw that once on their promo material awhile back and have never seen it since.

Not terrible...not great....
While it wouldn't be my first choice of name for a watch brand, there are definitely weirder names out there on AliX than "Berny". I just can't make up my mind if I should be thinking of a dead, middle-aged 1980s businessman or of an old progressive US senator when I look at that dial.
